Chapter 766: Chu Lingxi Humiliated, Old Man Fan Smashes the Door
The moment that hand pressed onto her thigh, Chu Lingxi felt her blood freeze. A wave of nausea surged up from her stomach, mingling with icy fear.
She could feel the temperature of Zhao Tianyu's fingers through the thin fabric of her skirt, like the fang of a poisonous snake, bringing a nauseating sticky sensation.
"General Manager!" she said, her voice trembling, but she struggled to keep the last shred of composure: "Please take your hand off!"
Zhao Tianyu not only did not loosen his grip.
Instead, he smiled.
His smile was full of the smugness of having everything under control: "Miss Chu, don't be nervous. I just want you to know what you can gain by working with me."
His other hand rose.
He tried to stroke Chu Lingxi's cheek: "Everything Lin Dongfan won't give you, I can. He's reluctant to spend money on you, but I don't blink. A woman like you should……"
"What should I do?" Chu Lingxi jerked her head away to dodge his hand, her eyes finally blazing with anger: "Should I just let a beast like you take advantage of me?!"
She said those words heavily.
Zhao Tianyu's smile vanished instantly, his face darkening: "Chu Lingxi, I've given you face, right? What do you think you are? A flower vase kept as a canary by your husband, yet you actually consider yourself a princess?"
He suddenly increased the pressure of his hand, making Chu Lingxi's thigh ache.
"Listen to me!" Zhao Tianyu leaned in, his voice lowered to a deadly whisper, each word laced with poison: "In this tea room, without my permission, you can't leave. You took the check, so from now on we're friends. If you don't take……"
He stared straight at Chu Lingxi, his eyes like an ice‑bladed knife.
Brazenly tearing off the pretense, he laid his cards on the table: "I also have a way to make you take it. After I sleep with you and take some photos and videos, later on it won't be just three million—it could be thirty million, and your husband will have to cough it up willingly. Do you believe me?"
Chu Lingxi felt cold all over.
She looked at that twisted face before her and finally understood completely—this was not ordinary harassment, but a meticulously designed, utterly filthy kidnapping.
What Zhao Tianyu wanted was not just her body, but the full value of her identity as "Lin Dongfan's wife."
What Zhao Tianyu wanted was a knife that could stab Lin Dongfan, could stab the Lin family.
And she herself, right now, is the raw material for that knife.
"You're dreaming!"
Chu Lingxi squeezed out three words from between her teeth, her voice trembling yet filled with unprecedented resolve: "Even if I die, I will not let you succeed!"
"Die?"
Zhao Tianyu sounded as if he'd heard a joke, snorting: "Miss Chu, you're too naive. Why would I want you dead? I want you alive, living well, and then——"
He didn't finish his sentence.
Because just then, the heavy carved wooden door of the tea room suddenly let out a huge bang.
It wasn't a knock.
It was an impact.
"Bang——!"
The whole door trembled.
Zhao Tianyu's face changed; before he could react, a second impact followed immediately.
"Bang——!!!"
This time, wood chips splintered from around the door frame.
The next second.
The door was kicked open from outside!
Lin Dongfan stood in the doorway.
He still wore the dark suit from the meeting, but his tie was loosened, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, a few strands of messy hair fell over his forehead, unable to hide the near‑substantial chill in his eyes.
Behind him, the two club guards lay on the ground groaning, while Lao Ba stood like a door god in the hallway, his eyes cold enough to kill.
The air inside the tea room instantly froze.
Zhao Tianyu's hand still pressed on Chu Lingxi's thigh; his whole body froze there, his expression shifting from astonishment to shock, then to a barely perceptible panic.
Lin Dongfan's gaze first fell on Chu Lingxi.
Seeing her pale face, trembling body, and Zhao Tianyu's hand resting on her thigh—in that instant, the chill in his eyes condensed into ice.
Then he turned his gaze to Zhao Tianyu.
That look was as if he were looking at a dead man.
"General Manager!" Lin Dongfan spoke, his voice calm yet terrifying: "Your big pig's trotter, is it misplaced?"
Zhao Tianyu jerked his hand back as if he'd been burned.
He forced out a smile, trying to stand: "Manager Lin, it's a misunderstanding, all a misunderstanding! I was just chatting with Miss Chu……"
"Chatting?!"
Lin Dongfan stepped inside, his leather shoes thudding heavily on the wooden floor: "Chatting to the point of pressing someone onto the sofa, hand on the thigh?"
He walked to the tea table, stopped, and lowered his head to look at the blank check on the table.
Then he extended two fingers and pinched up that check.
"Three million?" Lin Dongfan lifted his eyes to Zhao Tianyu, the corner of his mouth curling into an extremely faint, cold arc: "General Manager, you're quite generous."
Zhao Tianyu's face shifted, and he forced a smile: "Manager Lin, I just saw Miss Chu worrying about money and wanted to help out……"
"Help?!"
Lin Dongfan cut him off, loosening his fingers; the check fluttered down and landed squarely in the still‑steaming tea.
The paper instantly soaked through.
The ink blurred.
That three‑million "gesture" instantly turned into a lump of waste paper.
"My wife, Lin Dongfan's, does she need your help?" Lin Dongfan's voice suddenly turned cold: "Zhao Tianyu, do you think that after mixing in Jingcheng for a few years and knowing a few people, you can do as you please?"
The smile on Zhao Tianyu's face finally couldn't be held.
He stared at Lin Dongfan.
The pretense of elegance in his gaze completely fell away.
Revealing the sinister, vicious true face underneath: "President Lin, don't say it so harshly. Today this matter, your wife came to find me herself. I acted out of goodwill, you..."
"Why did my wife come to see you, you know in your heart."
Lin Dongfan stepped forward, approaching Zhao Tianyu: "Why did Xu Lili bring her here, you know even better. Playing such lowly tactics, aren't you embarrassed?"
The distance between them was already less than one meter.
Zhao Tianyu could clearly see the undisguised, naked contempt and killing intent in Lin Dongfan's eyes. He had seen that look before—in the eyes of those who truly crawled out of mountains of corpses and seas of blood.
But he could not retreat.
If he retreated a step, Zhao Tianyu's reputation, face, and deterrence accumulated over these years in Jingcheng would all be ruined.
"Lin Dongfan!" Zhao Tianyu also tore off the last pretense, voice cold and hard: "I gave you face, you damn well better not throw it away. Today this matter, your wife came voluntarily, I didn't force her. If you insist on making a big fuss and spreading it, who will lose face isn't certain."
He was gambling.
He was betting that Lin Dongfan, a scion of an aristocratic family, cares most about face and fears scandal most. He was betting Lin Dongfan wouldn't dare truly tear face, because once things blew up, the rumor of Chu Lingxi secretly meeting a man couldn't be washed away.
Unfortunately he bet wrong.
Lin Dongfan smiled, his smile carrying a near-cruel mockery: "Zhao Tianyu, do you think everyone is like you, valuing face more than life?"
He paused, word by word: "I tell you, here, my wife's reputation is worth more than your life. But your life..."
Lin Dongfan took another half step forward, nearly pressing against Zhao Tianyu's face, voice lowered to a whisper yet each word clear: "Worth nothing!"
At the moment his words fell, Lin Dongfan suddenly raised his hand!
Not to hit someone.
But he grabbed Zhao Tianyu's collar and yanked him forward!
Zhao Tianyu caught off guard, his whole body staggered two steps, almost falling into the tea sea. Just as he tried to struggle, Lin Dongfan had already released his hand, stepped back, and looked down at him from above.
That gaze, like looking at a pile of trash.
"Today I won't move you." Lin Dongfan's voice returned to calm, but that calm was more terrifying than a roar: "Not because I fear you, but because I dislike dirtying my hand."
He turned, walked to the sofa side, and extended his hand toward Chu Lingxi.
Chu Lingxi still sat there, her whole body as if drained of strength, until seeing that hand reaching out did she regain her senses.
She placed her hand into his palm.
Lin Dongfan gripped tightly, gently pulled, lifting her from the sofa and drawing her into his embrace.
"Go home." He said.
Chu Lingxi leaned against his chest, finally feeling a hint of real safety. She nodded slightly, said nothing, just clutched tightly at the corner of his clothes.
Lin Dongfan held her as they walked out; when they reached the doorway, his steps paused slightly.
He didn't look back, leaving only the last words: "Zhao Tianyu, remember today. Next time you touch anyone near me, I'll let you know what true unchecked power means!"
The door opened and then closed.
The tea room was deathly silent.
Zhao Tianyu still maintained the posture from being yanked and staggered, one hand propped on the tea sea, the other clenched tightly into a fist, knuckles whitening.
He looked at the soggy check scraps on the floor soaked in tea, at the empty doorway, at his own sorry state.
After Along while, he squeezed out a hoarse, low laugh from between his teeth.
That laughter grew louder and more manic, finally turning into hysterical mad laughter.
"Lin, Dong, Fan..." he muttered while laughing, eyes rolling with mad hatred: "Good, very good... this is what you brought upon yourself..."
"!!!"
Having already walked outside, Lin Dongfan, hearing the voice, smiled without speaking!
Is it all over?
No.
Next up is the martial arts contender—Lao Ba!
