Chapter 876: The Hooligan's Logic Routine
Ye Jiaying stared at Huang Jintang's greasy smiling face, then suddenly laughed: "1.67 billion? Huang Jintang, do you think holding this contract makes you immune from death?"
Huang Jintang folded the contract a few times and slipped it back into his pocket.
He chuckled and said:
"It's not quite a get-out-of-jail-free card, but at least it proves your Mortal Group broke the contract first. The law cares about evidence—this contract is black and white! So who's not obeying the law now?"
Saying that, Huang Jintang glanced at Gao Yicheng beside him, his smile full of provocation.
Gao Yicheng's face turned black; he had led his team standing here for nearly an hour, watching Huang Jintang's men swagger about, powerless to do anything.
To say he wasn't upset would be a lie.
But Political Commissar Zheng had said earlier—maintain on-site order, prevent escalation! Those twelve words were like a tight hoop spell, tightly bound around his head.
Ye Jiaying took a deep breath, suppressing her anger: "Huang Jintang, I'm asking you one more time—will you move or not?!"
"Move?"
Huang Jintang gave a cold, light chuckle: "First, pay the compensation in full—1.67 billion, not a cent less. Otherwise, even if the Emperor himself came today, he wouldn't dare set foot half a step into this construction site! That's what I say."
"With such arrogance, aren't you afraid of eating prison food?"
Ye Jiaying's face darkened with anger, her patience nearly exhausted, wondering why Lin Dongfan still hadn't arrived as she pulled out her phone, ready to call him.
Huang Jintang suddenly rolled up his sleeves and took off his watch: "Damn it, trying to scare me—I'm not easily intimidated." The removed watch, in the next second, pointed to a piece of threaded steel.
He used the threaded steel as a baton.
"Not paying the liquidated damages, huh? Fine..." Saying that, Huang Jintang swung the threaded steel baton in his hand, turned, and pointed at the building whose main frame was already erected: "Tear it down!"
"You dare!" Ye Jiaying glared angrily at Huang Jintang.
Huang Jintang said: "Not easily intimidated? Tear it down!"
With that order, a large long-arm excavator quickly started up, its engine roar shaking people's ears numb.
Raising its metal bucket, destroying the building was a piece of cake.
In the emergency.
Ye Jiaying lunged forward in a single stride, like a lone guardian holding the pass, she spread her arms to block the excavator: "If you want to demolish the building, you'll have to run over me first!"
"Oh, President Ye, you're disregarding dignity, trying to pull a scam?"
Huang Jintang jeered without restraint: "Being crushed by a hard excavator isn't fun; if you really want to be pressed, come find me. I'm hard too, and I'd be happy to oblige."
"You!!!!"
Ye Jiaying was so angry her face flushed red.
What disgusted her most wasn't the words, but Huang Jintang's ticklish, shameless gesture, as if proving the old saying to everyone: "The baser the person, the invincible!"
Before Ye Jiaying could think of a response,
Huang Jintang barked another order: "Someone, throw this contract‑less woman out! Keep pushing; if anything happens, I'll take responsibility!"
As soon as his words fell, four or five thugs moved to surround Ye Jiaying.
Ye Jiaying stood before the excavator, furiously shouting: "I dare anyone to try!" The CEO's aura startled the few thugs; they glanced at each other, none daring to make the first move.
Huang Jintang cursed from behind: "Damn it, what are you all standing around for?! We're now considering President Ye's safety—please have her leave the construction site, go!"
With the boss having such a perfect excuse, why hesitate at all?
The thugs secretly let out a breath of relief.
The next second, they all rushed forward together!
The first person reached to grab Ye Jiaying's arm; she backhanded him with a slap. "Smack!"—a crisp sound sent him reeling, dazed.
"Oh shit!"
Another lackey, seeing his brother struck, rushed forward and grabbed Ye Jiaying's right arm. Immediately, the others piled on, soon subduing her.
"Let me go! You lawless bastards!"
Ye Jiaying struggled desperately, but outnumbered and overpowered, she was forcibly marched away; even the assistant who rushed to help was shoved to the ground with a single hand.
"Stop!"
Gao Yicheng, who had stood idle until now, finally found a chance to act. He rushed forward with two police officers, quickly pushing aside the thugs on Ye Jiaying's left and right.
One of the officers had already swung his baton, maintaining vigilance.
Gao Yicheng sternly warned Huang Jintang: "Huang Jintang, don't go too far! If there's a dispute, wait for the superiors to arrive and then negotiate."
Huang Jintang slowly lit a cigarette.
The next second.
He put on a solemn face and lectured Gao Yicheng: "Captain Gao, you're a police officer! What's your duty? Instead of keeping public order, you're here backing a contract‑less female tycoon who's bullying us ordinary folks—what are you trying to do?"
!!!
Shocked by the words, Gao Yicheng felt a bit dazed, almost losing grasp of the situation! Damn, wasn't I supposed to be maintaining public order?
He took a couple seconds to compose himself.
Gao Yicheng coldly retorted: "Huang Jintang, quit twisting right and wrong here! You're assaulting people in front of us police—do you still think you're justified?"
"Captain Gao, you can eat whatever you like, but you can't just spout nonsense."
Huang Jintang stepped forward two paces.
He put on an air of righteous certainty: "Ye Jiaying breached first; I'm lawfully demanding compensation—no problem, right? Since she refuses to pay me, I can only protest by tearing down the building to defend my rights. Yet she suddenly rushed out to obstruct the work, and for her safety I asked her to leave—what's the issue?"
!!!
This series of rhetorical questions left Gao Yicheng speechless.
Damn it!
These days even petty thugs have improved—not only do they know how to fight and kill, but when they spout reasoning they come off with a whole set of tricks, probably having read Sunzi's Art of War plenty!
Gao Yicheng turned his head toward Ye Jiaying and asked weakly: "President Ye, how about… we step aside to calm down first? Let's wait for the leaders to arrive before making a decision…"
"Captain Gao, all you do is sit on the fence?!" Ye Jiaying retorted coldly.
Gao Yicheng was so shocked a black line appeared on his forehead.
He thought, "I'm also damned for eight lifetimes—even jumping into the Yellow River couldn't wash it clean! Party A has someone behind them, and Party B has someone behind them too! If I had any meddling wrongdoing, how could I not get promoted?"
I'm just a monkey walking a steel wire—if I casually twist my waist or lose my footing, I'll go down, people and horses overturned!
Baoding's inner bitterness!
Who understands?
Gao Yicheng, filled with frustration, turned and negotiated with Huang Jintang: "I can't handle your rights‑defense matter, but laying hands on General Manager Ye is unacceptable. She can stand wherever she wants—that's her freedom, and you can't touch her. If you truly care about her safety, you can only halt the demolition and wait for the leadership to mediate."
"I'm easy to talk to, but my brothers aren't so easy—if they insist on asking her to leave?" Huang Jintang asked: "Which law would that violate?"
Gao Yicheng glanced at the few restless thugs behind Huang Jintang.
He solemnly replied, "Minor offenses violate the Public Security Administration Punishment Law; serious ones constitute criminal crimes! Don't say I didn't warn you—whoever lays a hand, I'll arrest."
"Brothers, you all heard that—minor offenses mean detention; pay attention!"
Huang Jintang's words had just fallen.
Behind him, the little brothers immediately surged forward like refugees scrambling for food, shouting and hollering in a chaotic mass.
Relying on their numbers, they instantly sent Gao Yicheng and the others sprawling, even knocking his police cap to the ground.
"What the hell is this? Are you rebelling?"
Gao Yicheng shouted in panic, scrambling to pick up his police cap from the ground.
Almost at the same moment, amid the chaos, Ye Jiaying's struggle rang out: "You lawless bastards! Let me go..."
Before Gao Yicheng could even put his police cap back on, he looked up and saw Ye Jiaying already being carried away by several people.
The rumbling large long-arm excavator.
It was also slowly advancing toward the building's main body; with its bucket raised high, one scoop would surely collapse a large section of the floor.
