Chapter 302: Underground Boxing Ring_1
"Alright, Mr. Ye, please follow me. I assure you that you won’t be disappointed," Qin Feng’s eyes flashed with a cold and sinister light.
"What are you going to do?"
At this moment, Qin Yuru and Ling Qingya slowly walked over.
"Yu Ru, I’d like to take Mr. Ye to experience some of the more thrilling services our club offers. We’ll make sure Mr. Ye has a good time," Qin Feng said, looking at Qin Yuru.
"As it happens, I seldom come to this club, so let me see what kind of services you have here," Qin Yuru said.
"Alright, but this particular service is a bit bloody, I hope you won’t mind," replied Qin Feng.
As he spoke, Qin Feng led Ye Luo and the others towards the outside and arrived at the elevator, where he promptly pressed the button for the third underground level. The elevator took them down to the third subterranean floor of the club.
When the elevator doors opened, a long corridor stretched out ahead, flanked on both sides by a group of grim-faced men in black, each with a bulging waist, clearly all armed with firearms.
"Please," said Qin Feng as he strode out of the elevator, with Ye Luo and Qin Yuru following behind, and Ling Qingya tagging along too.
Walking down the corridor and through a set of large doors, they were greeted by the cacophony of shrill screams and shouts that jolted the senses.
Ye Luo and the others then witnessed a truly spectacular sight: a vast space underground with a square-shaped arena in the center, similar to a boxing ring.
All around were rows of stepped seating like those at a soccer match, and at this point, they were filled with hundreds, close to a thousand people, all dressed in rich attire, obviously wealthy individuals. Their eyes shone with a crazy excitement as they shouted towards the arena.
On the arena, a black and a white figure were engaged in a fierce fight. Their expressions were ferocious, their bodies covered in scars, wearing only shorts, their upper bodies bare.
They were fighting fiercely, throwing punches without holding back, both of them bleeding from being hit, yet neither showed any sign of stopping.
This was clearly an underground fighting ring, resembling those illegal boxing matches. Above the arena, there was a huge display showing the odds at one to twenty.
These underground fights involved betting on the fighters, and the onlookers would wager on the boxer they favored.
If the boxer they picked won the match, they could win a corresponding reward based on the odds. This was what’s known as underground boxing, and it was an unexpected find beneath this club.
"When did you start this up?" Qin Yuru asked with a slight frown, a hint of surprise in her eyes as she looked at Qin Feng.
"This has been here since Tianyu Club was established. This underground arena is unique in the entire Capital City. It’s precisely because of this that Tianyu Club has become so successful," Qin Feng said with a smile.
"This underground arena must have earned you huge profits," Qin Yuru commented peering at Qin Feng, who seemed somewhat embarrassed, but did not respond.
The underground arena could bring in profits of at least several hundred million for Qin Feng every night and, if arranged well, could even yield an income of up to ten billion, a staggering amount.
"Do you realize the impact this place could have on the Qin Family and the Qin Clan if word got out?" said Qin Yuru coldly.
"That won’t happen, you can be sure of that," replied Qin Feng confidently, his gaze shifting to Ye Luo: "Mr. Ye, what do you think?"
"Not bad," said Ye Luo, his face calm.
Just then, the black fighter on the platform delivered a vicious punch to the white man’s face, the powerful blow caving in his features and splattering blood, the scene extremely gory.
Seeing this scene, Qin Yuru remained calm, while Ling Qingya’s expression changed slightly.
Soon, many onlookers let out excited screams, obviously those who had bet on the winner. Others cursed at the corpse of the white man, clearly having placed their bets on him and lost their money.
"Please welcome our next heavyweight contender, the underground boxing champion from South Africa, Rubis."
As the host’s voice rang out, another black man stepped up from the crowd. This man was even more muscular than the previous fighter, standing at a full two meters tall, with arms thicker than the average person’s thighs.
His clenched fists were like two massive hammers, his body covered in various scars. With a fierce and intimidating face and eyes that glowed with a wild, almost beast-like madness, he had a powerful presence that immediately drew a wave of screams as he stepped onto the stage.
"Mr. Ye, what do you think of this South African boxing champion?" Qin Feng asked, turning his gaze to Ye Luo.
"So-so," Ye Luo said casually.
A hint of surprise flickered in Qin Feng’s eyes, and he said with a smile, "It seems Mr. Ye doesn’t think much of this South African boxing champion. I saw you take action earlier, and you also saved Yu Ru, clearly a practitioner yourself. I wonder if you’d be willing to give it a try in the ring?"
"No, it’s too dangerous," Qin Yuru immediately voiced her objection.
"Ye Luo, don’t go," Ling Qingya, too, looked at Ye Luo, speaking out.
"Ye Luo, aren’t you quite the fighter? Why not go up there and show off your strength?" Ling Huatao said from the side, his words laced with sarcasm.
Ye Luo, holding back his hands, said, "If you want me to go up and fight, it’s not out of the question, but I’m curious what the odds would be for me, Young Master Qin."
"How about ten to one?" Qin Feng looked at Ye Luo.
"So if I lose, this underground boxing venue pays out ten times the bet, right?"
Qin Feng nodded with a smile.
"Alright then, I’ll bet ten million on myself," Ye Luo declared abruptly.
Qin Feng appeared startled, then chuckled, "It seems Mr. Ye is quite confident in himself."
"Of course," Ye Luo said and pulled out the black card he’d been using all along from his pocket.
"Here, place a bet of ten million for me."
"A black card? It seems Mr. Ye is indeed no ordinary person," Qin Feng observed as he saw the black card from Huaxia Bank, the most prestigious kind.
"Ye Luo, are you really going to do this? This is no ordinary boxing match; this is underground fighting, where people can die at any time," Qin Yuru said, looking at Ye Luo with a somber tone.
"That’s right, Ye Luo, don’t go. If you’re short of money, I can give you some," Ling Qingya also showed an anxious expression.
Ye Luo looked at the two women with a smile: "Do you really have so little confidence in me?"
With that, Ye Luo slowly walked down, then jumped onto the ring with one powerful leap.
