Chapter 6: Chapter Six: I Like You!
Dao Ling Shan, Tang Family.
A girl in a purple long dress lay on a chair, reading an Ancient Record, occasionally laughing.
To her right was a round table, upon which sat a cup of tea; when her reading made her thirsty, she took a few sips.
"Tang Yan! Come quick and save me!" A voice came from before the girl — a Transmission Talisman.
Tang Yan snapped out of her thoughts, frowning slightly. What trouble had this cousin gotten into now?
The voice transmitting was Tang Yan's cousin, Tang Zhe.
Tang Yan set down the Ancient Record, sipped tea twice, and vanished from where she stood.
Half a moment later, Tang Yan arrived on a wasteland — this was where Tang Zhe had sent the Transmission Talisman.
Tang Yan scanned her surroundings, her expression turning grim.
This was Da Mo Huang Di, the only place on Dao Ling Shan with no inhabitants.
Tang Yan sensed the surroundings, then gazed into the wasteland's depths — she felt Tang Zhe's presence.
She swiftly flew toward the depths; the deeper she went, the more uneasy she grew — yet she trusted her own strength and pressed on.
Moments later, she detected Tang Zhe's aura nearby — and by then, she was deep within the wasteland.
No ordinary person could reach here, for an invisible pressure existed here — even Spirit-Genius cultivators would die instantly!
But this pressure affected Tang Yan not at all; she stared at the ground, stomped her right foot hard, and the earth far ahead split open.
"Audacious! Who dares disturb my rest?" A roar echoed.
At once, a powerful aura crushed down; a spectral figure coalesced not far from Tang Yan — its form two or three times larger than a normal human, its face grotesque, covered in strange symbols on face and body.
Seeing this figure, Tang Yan frowned tightly — she had seen him before in Ancient Records.
Since childhood, she had loved poring over Ancient Records, and the Tang Family possessed many; one such record detailed the greats of Xuan Zhe Continent, including this figure.
He was one of the top powerhouses of Xuan Zhe Continent, named Da Huang Zhi Di; his physique was unique, suited to survive in all wastelands, and once ruled all wastelands of Xuan Zhe Continent.
She still remembered the record contained an extremely detailed account of Da Huang Zhi Di.
Da Huang Zhi Di had lived for thousands of years; when he reached Dao-Xuan, he slaughtered an entire generation of life, and was jointly sealed by all top forces of Xuan Zhe Continent for nearly two hundred years.
That seal was broken hundreds of years ago; after breaking free, his power surged beyond measure, completely transcending Dao-Xuan — his current strength unknown!
The records stated Da Huang Zhi Di had broken through Dao-Xuan long ago; his present power remains unknown.
After recalling this, Tang Yan studied the Da Huang Zhi Di before her — she could not penetrate his depth at all.
At this moment, her eyes narrowed slightly; she already wished to retreat, and hurriedly said: "Forgive the disturbance — I did not know it was Elder Da Huang. I meant no offense, I beg you..."
"Sis, save me! This damn thing wants to eat me!" A voice interrupted Tang Yan.
Hearing her cousin's words, Tang Yan was speechless, her face darkening.
What kind of idiot was this cousin? She wanted to curse Tang Zhe right now — didn't he know how terrifying Da Huang Zhi Di was?
But she didn't curse him — after all, she had come to save him.
Thinking of it, she was utterly exasperated: Tang Zhe was truly a troublemaker — why pick this one?
She couldn't fight him, and had no other option; Tang Yan swallowed her pride and said: "Elder... actually, since childhood, I've admired you, awed by your invincible power. Could you please release this boy? He's my brother — my Tang Family and I will be eternally grateful!"
There was no choice — she could only beg with shame.
Saying these words before her cousin's eyes, Tang Yan felt deeply awkward.
Before Da Huang Zhi Di could speak, Tang Zhe's voice suddenly rang out: "Sis, you're so strong — why are you scared of him? Just beat him up already!"
Hearing this, Tang Yan's face turned pitch black.
At this moment, before Da Huang Zhi Di could speak, Tang Zhe's voice suddenly rang out: "Sis, you're so strong, why are you scared of him? Talk to him all this much? Just hit him for me!"
This bastard is screwing me over!
Tang Yan was utterly speechless inside.
Damn it — if I could beat him, would I be saying all this? Can't you just shut up? I might've talked my way out — now it's completely ruined!
Aaah! Tang Yan was about to explode — this cousin had no brains at all.
Fuck, if I could beat him, would I even need to talk this much? Are you trying to kill me by staying silent? I might've fooled him into believing it, but now you've ruined everything.
She bowed slightly to Da Huang Zhi Di, forcing down her rage: "Elder, I give up. Sorry — do whatever you want with him." Then she turned and walked away.
Far off, Tang Yan felt a slight relief — she noticed Da Huang Zhi Di made no move to stop her or chase her, and she vanished into the distance.
Beside Da Huang Zhi Di, Tang Zhe watched as Tang Yan truly left — and left without hesitation — and he froze.
Far away, Tang Yan felt a slight relief in her heart—she realized Da Huang Zhi Di made no move to stop her departure or chase after her, so she vanished into the distance.
Beside Da Huang Zhi Di, Tang Zhe saw Tang Yan actually leave, and leave without the slightest hesitation—he was stunned.
He looked at Da Huang Zhi Di beside him, pupils shrinking — he finally understood: Da Huang Zhi Di's power was far beyond his imagination!
But now Tang Yan was gone; he stared at Da Huang Zhi Di, his eyes filled only with despair.
He glanced at Da Huang Zhi Di beside him, his pupils contracting—he seemed to understand: Da Huang Zhi Di's strength was likely far beyond what he had imagined!
That was the only thought in his mind — he was utterly finished, all his own fault for being so stupid...
After leaving Da Mo Huang Di, Tang Yan did not return directly to the Tang Family — she went to the foot of a mountain, where a river ran beside it. A little boy played by the riverbank.
She approached the boy, stroked his head, and smiled faintly: "Do you remember your sister?"
The boy was about to speak, when a youth in blue-and-white robes, a sword at his waist, walked over from the side.
The boy immediately turned to the youth, delighted: "Brother!"
The youth quickly reached the two, took the boy's hand, and looked at Tang Yan with a faint smile: "Miss Tang, is there something you need?"
This youth was Luo Ling!
Tang Yan looked at Luo Ze, apologetic: "My behavior on the mountaintop earlier was abrupt — I apologize."
This boy was precisely Luo Ling!
Tang Yan looked at Luo Ze and said with a hint of apology, "My behavior on the mountaintop earlier was somewhat abrupt—I'm sorry!"
Luo Ling thought for a moment, then said, "Miss Tang, it's fine—I've forgotten most of it already."
After hearing this, Tang Yan nodded slightly. "Can you walk with me?"
Walk together!
Luo Ling smiled. "Sure!"
Saying this, he carried Luo Ze inside. "Play by yourself for a bit, bro's gonna talk to this sister for a moment!"
Luo Ze seemed a little unhappy. "Oh."
Hearing his brother say only "oh," he quickly added, "Bro'll be right back to keep you company, don't be mad, okay?" He ruffled Luo Ze's hair, and only turned away after seeing his brother's expression brighten.
Luo Ling soon arrived before Tang Yan, and the two walked through the forest of this mountain range.
He looked at Tang Yan; she still wore a veil, hiding her face,

but the veil was faintly translucent, as if concealing a breathtaking beauty. And Tang Yan's figure was beyond compare—she was, without doubt, the most beautiful person he had ever seen.
Honestly, Tang Yan was truly beautiful!
The first time Luo Ling saw Tang Yan, he felt a flutter in his heart. He never expected she would come to him today—he thought someone like her, a goddess, would never look at someone like him.
Though he was confident in his own looks.
What Luo Ling didn't know was that when Tang Yan first saw him, she was even more stunned than he was at her—this boy was truly elegant and handsome, incredibly handsome. Especially when she saw the Blue Sword at his waist, it radiated an aura of sheer majesty, like a sword immortal.
When she sparred with him that day, she noticed he fought with effortless grace, and she could feel he hadn't shown his true strength at all.
She loved boys like Luo Ling—handsome, humble, and polite in conversation.
Ever since that battle and her departure, Tang Yan thought of this boy every day.
In truth, today she came mainly because, upon hearing him speak so shamelessly to the Da Huang Zhi Di, her head had spun—and she'd impulsively decided to find Luo Ling, talk to him, learn more about him, perhaps even spark something.
They walked a while, each lost in thoughts of the other, neither speaking first.
Luo Ling seemed unable to hold back any longer. "Miss Tang, did you come here specially today for something?"
Tang Yan was startled by his sudden question. Distracted, she murmured, "Nothing much… I just missed you."
As soon as she spoke, Tang Yan snapped back to awareness.
What did I just say?
Oh no…
Realizing she'd made a mistake, her cheeks flushed faintly. She prepared to explain: "I…"
Before she could, Luo Ling suddenly grasped her right hand. Feeling the warmth in his palm, she froze, her hand trembling slightly, instinctively trying to pull away.
She realized he held her tightly—she couldn't break free. She stopped, closed her eyes, her cheeks flushed red.
She wanted to say something, but her mouth felt sealed—she couldn't speak a word…
After a long while, Luo Ling held both of Tang Yan's hands, facing her. He hesitated, then said: "Tang Yan, I like you. I…"
Hearing this, Tang Yan's mind went numb.
What is this boy saying? Is it real?
She bit her tongue—it wasn't a dream!
Oh no, I'm too nervous—what do I do now?
Luo Ling looked at Tang Yan; her eyes were still closed, but her cheeks were flushed. Why wasn't she speaking? Had he frightened her?
Thinking this, Luo Ling sighed inwardly—he probably had no chance.
He was about to think of some excuse to ease the awkwardness when Tang Yan suddenly spoke: "Luo Ling, I like you too!"
Tang Yan had gone all in—after all, he confessed first, so I'm not at a disadvantage!
Hearing this, Luo Ling froze. She actually said yes?
Both stood motionless, their minds utterly blank.
Time passed in the clearing, neither knowing how long.
"Bro!"
A child's voice rang out in the clearing!
…
