Chapter 3
In the drizzling rain, Seven and Mihawk walked side by side through the crowd.
“Mihawk, is the opponent strong?”
“In town… it’s easy to draw the Marines.”
Seven couldn’t help but grumble inside: You’re a Marine hunter—why are you afraid of Marines?
And yet—
Before the Captain turned himself in, he’d already reached an agreement with the World Government: the Government would no longer harass the rest of the crew. Yet now they’re targeting me.
No surprise—the World Government’s reputation is negative.
“Damn it, wait till I get you.”
When the system wasn’t active, you chased me all over the place. Now that it’s active, you’re still after me.
It’s utterly outrageous!
Why don’t you go chase after Rayleigh, the first mate? Why are you fixated on a cook? This is bullying the honest folk!
Back in the room, Seven immediately opened his new player gift pack. Two warm streams instantly spread through his body, followed by violent churning in his gut.
【Glutton: Supreme Gluttonous Bag, rapidly replenishes stored energy through eating. Review: At three meters tall, you deserve this.】
【Born with Divine Strength: Your strength is considerable.】
As the Glutton ability took effect, the hunger he hadn’t felt in six years returned.
He pulled the Gura Gura no Mi from his system inventory, ignored its nauseating taste, and devoured it whole—down to the stem.
Even though eating just one bite of a Devil Fruit grants its power, Seven had been through the internet’s Xili .
He’d heard the rumor: eating the entire fruit makes awakening easier.
Electric currents crackled across his body. He stared at his elementalized hands—the unease and oppression that had clung to him since the Roger Pirates disbanded vanished in an instant.
With this fruit’s power, even if he faced an unbeatable enemy, he could at least run.
He could even sense the thunderclouds above—just a thought, and lightning would pour down.
“Finally, I can survive on my own.”
In the roughly ten-square-meter room, Seven moved as lightning, experiencing elementalization.
Now he could finally say: I’m the Lightning Man who ate the Gura Gura no Mi!
Dismissing elementalization, he used lightning to refine his body while studying the Multiverse Trading Platform’s functions.
Simply put:
It’s a cross-world trading platform where you buy items with points or barter.
You can sell items from the Pirate World to the system for points, or list items for sale or request items from users in other worlds to earn points.
It’s somewhat like a trading post in a game.
For example:
Roger’s sword, Enma, has a system buy price of 10,000 points; the famed blade Shusui is worth 5,000 points.
If you don’t want to sell directly to the system, you can list the Supreme Grade Sword Enma at a higher price on the trading platform.
When a sale completes, the platform takes a 10% fee.
Scanning the many items listed on the platform, Seven’s eyes instantly blazed with fire.
【Dream One: 88,888 tons of gold. Seller’s note: Hehe, my wife is Raiden Shin!】
【EX—Curry Stick: 10,000 points. Seller’s note: I have a little tuft of hair!】
【Wanted: Any pirates from this world? 1,000 points for a Devil Fruit.】
【Wanted: Any pirates from this world? 10,000 points—only want Trafalgar Law dead.】
【Wanted: Any pirates from this world? 10,000 points—only want Desert King dead.】
Seven seethed with envy: That guy who crossed over to Teyvat deserves to die! He married Raiden Shin and now flaunts Dream One.
“Damn it, you wait.”
Your own suffering is hateful—but others’ success hurts even more.
We’re both transmigrants. Why am I broke, with no noble birth or powerful body, while that idiot in Teyvat gets to marry Raiden Shin?
Seven’s composure shattered.
“Fuck it—I’ll empty the entire Gold City just to buy Dream One.”
“I’ll make you choke on rage!”
After cursing for a long while, Seven remembered to test the point system—he pulled out the permanent compass pointing to Laugh Tale.
【Sell Permanent Compass (Laugh Tale) for 1,000 points?】
“No.”
He stored all the permanent compasses in his system warehouse and looked at the direct-sale interface:
【Observation Haki: 5,000 points】
【Armament Haki: 5,000 points】
【Conqueror’s Haki: Already Owned】
【Swordmaster Training Experience: 1,000 points】
【Iron Balloon: 20,000 points】
Compared to the many items on the trading platform, the direct-sale interface was simple—only selling the three types of Haki, sword skills, and body conditioning.
“Damn… expensive!”
“Observation and Armament Haki—each costs 5,000 points if you can’t awaken them naturally! Iron Balloon is a staggering 20,000 points.”
Though he coveted them desperately,
he… couldn’t afford them. Not at all.
Seven immediately resolved to leave Loguetown as soon as possible, then head to the Gold City.
Use that giant golden pillar to buy Dream One.
A sword is a swordsman’s second life. For a swordsman, a divine weapon like Dream One is self-evidently vital.
Originally, Seven planned to retrieve Roger’s sword Enma—but now that Dream One exists,
Enma? Never heard of it.
As for the two Haki types, he’d keep training hard without them—he had not a single point to his name.
Items priced over 10,000 points were out of the question for now.
Outside the window, the rain kept falling.
Mihawk didn’t come to hurry him along. Seven guessed Mihawk feared the rain—and that coffin-ship was too small, even using the toilet was a nightmare.
…
Inside the weapon shop across from the hotel:
CP9 agent Lu Bianyi’s eyebrows were knotted into a single rope: “How the hell is he with Mihawk?”
“With Mihawk here, I have no chance to strike. Should I call the Marines?”
If it were any other member of the Roger Pirates, maybe calling the Marines would make sense—but Seven is a weakling! No need at all!
Calling the Marines means sharing the credit.
Inside the hotel, Seven ordered dinner for twenty people and devoured it voraciously, under Mihawk’s slightly surprised gaze.
“We leave after dark.”
Seven chewed loudly: “Mihawk, even a man like you worries about drawing Marines?”
Mihawk lifted his teacup: “The Marine who escorted Roger to Loguetown… was Garp.”
“Garp…” Seven shuddered.
Garp—a man even Roger found troublesome. A pure battle addict who loved to crack skulls.
Even Imu wasn’t spared from his fists.
With his iron fists alone, he dominated the entire Age of Piracy, both rival and friend to Roger, each respecting the other.
According to the strongest man, Jia Ba, years ago Roger invited Garp to join his crew—but Garp refused.
That’s why, before meeting Mihawk at Twin Cape, Seven had specifically gone to Windmill Village to leave Garp a little surprise.
“If it’s Garp, we really should be careful. Mihawk, I’ll get us a big ship later.”
When he came here, he could ride Mihawk’s coffin-ship, ignoring the sea’s effects. Now he can’t—even just to use the toilet, he needs a bigger ship.
Due to the public execution of the Pirate King, Loguetown’s harbor was packed with all kinds of ships—from massive cargo vessels to luxury yachts.
As a pirate, stealing a ship is perfectly normal.
