Chapter 461: I Just… Seemed to Fall Asleep
Seven watched like a recorder as six masters attacked Im, who had possessed Satan.
But when the six masters each shouted their ultimate techniques, Kaido’s incantation made Seven burst out laughing.
Because Rocks, gripping his blade, unleashed a full-power strike: “Abyssal Curse.”
Garp’s iron fist, like a falling star, twisted space into ripples wherever its wind passed: “Bone Impact.”
Roger slashed with his blade, red-black light slicing through space like a cascading galaxy: “Shin Hei.”
Whitebeard’s blade sent sharp whistles through the air as it cut: “Sōunsetsu.”
Big Mom, aided by Prometheus the Fire Cloud, swung Napoleon in a spinning motion: “Weiguo.”
Only Kaido: “Dragon’s Breath…”
Kaido, who had just consumed the Blue Dragon Fruit, was still awkwardly cute—no wonder they called him “Cute Kaido.”
Seven captured this scene again.
Then he watched silently as Rocks was dominated by Im’s Black Transformation, as Rocks turned demonic and attacked Whitebeard, Big Mom, Kaido, and his wife.
He watched as Big Mom, at the critical moment, slapped Rocks’ wife away from Rocks’ blade.
He watched young Shanks crawl into a treasure chest…
He watched Gold Lion snatch countless treasure chests and flee, while the rest of Rocks’ crew departed.
He watched Garp and Roger jointly crush Rocks, then collapse from exhaustion, as Garin Saint arrived from the slowed-time zone.
He watched Rayleigh and Jaba rush back—one lifting Roger, the other lifting Garp—leaving only Rocks, about to be finished off by Garin.
Even though these were real events, for Seven, nothing in this timeline should have ever included him.
Naturally, he could not interfere lightly.
Just as Seven was about to leave, he remembered he had promised Blackbeard to deliver a message to Rocks, and instantly teleported beside him.
At the same moment, the entire timeline froze.
Rocks lifted his eyelids, glancing at motionless Garin and the mysterious Thunder Boy.
“Are you… a descendant of the ancient Four Gods?”
Having ruled the seas for years, Rocks considered himself second only to Im, the sewer rat king beneath the Flower Room—but he had never seen anyone halt time.
Could this be the Toki Toki Fruit?
Wasn’t the Toki Toki Fruit lost for many years?
Seven ignored Rocks’ question, even though it involved the ancient Four Gods, and chose to honor his promise.
“I’ve come to deliver a message from your son: The Davy family has left descendants.”
Rocks froze for several seconds, then a bitter smile crept across his face.
“Even Tichi failed… I never thought… the Paramecia Toki Toki Fruit could travel through time…”
Seven bowed slightly.
“Farewell.”
Though he said this, Seven did not leave immediately—he waited until Garin delivered the final blow and confirmed Rocks’ death before departing.
In the Sea of the God’s Valley, the Orl Jackson.
After parting from Garp, Roger’s crew sailed away with the treasure chests seized from the God’s Valley battle, becoming the greatest victors of the conflict.
First Mate Rayleigh won the heart of his beloved; Captain Roger gained his successor, Shanks.
On deck, Roger—who had been laughing and drinking a moment ago—suddenly noticed a cross-shaped wound on his arm, then collapsed into unconsciousness.
This terrified Rayleigh and the others, who rushed Roger to his bed.
Roger’s body fell into deep sleep, but his consciousness entered a vast white space—when he saw the black throne’s white-haired figure, he blurted out:
“Are you the King of the World that Rocks spoke of?”
“More precisely, I am the King of the World thirty years from now—and the chef of Roger’s crew eight years from now.”
“Nani?!” Roger’s eyes widened.
“Thirty years from now… eight years from now?”
“Did you come from the future?”
Before he could wait for an answer, Roger shook his head himself.
“Impossible. Absolutely impossible. No human can return from the future to the past.”
Seven spread his hands.
“Captain, it’s entirely possible.”
Not long ago, Seven had used the Toki Toki Fruit to freeze time, taken a drop of blood from Captain Roger’s arm, and prepared to activate the time machine and leave.
But for some reason, a strong sensation made him stay—and pulled Roger into a dream.
Only now did Seven finally understand: why Roger’s crew had sailed to Houshazhen in the East Blue—perhaps it was the future him who had told Roger to go there.
That single word, “Captain,” made Roger freeze—and he chose to believe Seven.
“Fine. I’ll temporarily believe you.”
“You…” Roger gestured helplessly: “Why did you come back to this time? And why did you enter my dream?”
“To see you—and to take something from you.”
Hearing this, Roger frowned.
“In the future… I’m dead?”
“Yes.” Seven nodded.
“That’s why I took blood from your arm—to revive you in the future. Of course, if you refuse to be revived, just forget I said anything.”
“Revive?” Roger was even more confused.
So many unbelievable events in one day made Roger feel utterly absurd.
First Rocks turned demonic, then a man claiming to be Roger’s future chef left a mysterious wound on his arm and spoke of reviving him.
His head was itching.
Though it felt absurd, Roger had a quiet feeling inside: perhaps it was all true.
“If I can live… I’d certainly rather live.”
“Good.” Seven stood to leave, then suddenly remembered something.
“By the way, Captain—remember to go to Houshazhen in the East Blue to pick me up eight years from now.”
Roger nodded instinctively—then the space shifted violently, replaced by Rayleigh, Jaba, and the others’ worried faces.
“Roger? How do you feel?”
Roger grimaced: “Terrible, Rayleigh. I just… I just… seemed to fall asleep.”
The events moments ago vanished from Roger’s memory as if they never happened—seemingly sealed by some force, waiting for the right future conditions… to unlock.
Having done all this, Seven’s figure dissolved.
……
Year 1533 of the Grand Line Calendar.
Red Line, Holy Land Sky City.
Returning to the present, Seven confirmed repeatedly—he was certain his journey to the past had caused no impact.
“Better to use this thing sparingly.”
Even though his trip to the past yielded rich rewards—successfully gathering all conditions to revive Captain Roger, acquiring the black histories of the elder masters, and learning of the ancient Four Gods from Rocks—
Seven still had no intention of using the time machine again. Any action taken in the past might alter the future.
The uncertainty was too great.
As for the so-called ancient Four Gods…
So what if they were gods? They still must kneel to Barzab Seven.
If the ancient Four Gods were truly invincible, how could they have lost to Im?
The era of the ancient Four Gods is long gone. This era is named the World King, Barzab Seven.
Having gathered all conditions to revive Captain Roger, Seven made no delay—he immediately began preparing the resurrection ritual.
