Chapter 49: Spatial Exile (Cultivation)
The two bratty kids got into a mess, and the headaches are all the parents'.
Bai Mu Yun watched from not far away, also burning with anxiety.
Ying Duo's current status is still of great use to the Dome, and the high‑lethality weapon he has deployed... must not be allowed to be taken down here.
But why on earth did he get tangled up with Chi Jinan, that infamous lunatic?!
If he rushes in now, he won't rescue anyone and is very likely to get himself caught as well.
Of course, besides the two anxious ones, there's another person who is even more of a headache than they are.
So, his auction house must be dismantled today, no matter what?
"Sigh..."
The Undercurrent regiment leader sighed again; he couldn't just watch his hard‑won enterprise be completely torn down by those two maniacs, could he?
"Enough."
His cold voice rang out as his hands made a vague gesture in front of him.
A spatial energy, far weaker than when the fusion bomb was transferred before yet far more subtle, silently descended, precisely enveloping the battling Ying Duo and Chi Jinan.
The massive suction prevented both from breaking free; they could only watch helplessly as the spatial vortex drew them in.
Chi Jinan struggled to break free, his eyes blood‑red as he stared at Ying Duo, as if to tear him apart.
Ying Duo......
Ying Duo... he doesn't even budge; the heavy burden he carries doesn't permit him to move an inch.
Under the astonished gazes of the onlookers, the figures of Ying Duo and Chi Jinan, along with the raging artillery fire and splashes of blood around them, vanished from the spot as if erased by an eraser.
Only two slowly rotating, gradually shrinking and dissipating spatial vortices remained.
The Undercurrent regiment leader finally exhaled in relief, finally having sent those two plague gods away.
"This is merely a regional spatial exile; I cannot teleport them to a far‑away place... but where they end up depends on their own luck."
He said it lightly, as a way to give the crowd an explanation.
With the two biggest unstable factors gone, the scene finally returned to a brief calm, and they managed to escape death.
Only the auction hall's structural framework occasionally emitted a teeth‑gnawing creaking sound, reminding everyone of the sheer madness they had just endured.
Qi Junyi's face turned ashen; he glared fiercely toward the direction where Bai Mu Yun stood, but unfortunately Bai Mu Yun had already slipped into the shadows at once, likely already gone.
He no longer hesitated; hoisting Ye Lin and Lin Hao, he flashed his figure and swiftly moved toward the exit.
Although tonight's operation achieved its main objective, the twists in the process and the stifling losses left him unable to even mention how displeased he was.
Bai Mu Yun also cast a deep glance at the spot where Ying Duo vanished, his eyes complex, and finally turned into a wisp of black mist, silently merging into the shadows and withdrawing from this place of trouble.

Yue Chengzhang led the Supervision Bureau's elite through multiple collapsed passages and finally stepped into the half‑ruined main hall of the auction venue; even though he had anticipated it, his brows still knitted deeply.
The scene before him could be called a disaster.
The once‑luxurious hall was now riddled with scorch marks and fissures, twisted metal components jutting like a monster's skeleton, and the air was thick with gunpowder smoke and the scent of blood.
Scattered flames still crackled in the corners, illuminating the wreckage, while the few survivors still in shock were being evacuated under the guidance of the Undercurrent Mercenary Corps.
His gaze, amid the wreckage, locked onto Qi Junyi in the corner.
Qi Junyi now looked somewhat disheveled; his tattered suit was smeared with dust and stains, a fresh smear of blood lingered at the corner of his mouth, and his breathing was a few breaths heavier than usual, clearly having endured a fierce battle.
At his feet lay the mutated personnel, tightly bound by a special restrainer who had given up struggling, and beside it was a crouched, unconscious girl.
"Captain Qi!"
Yue Chengzhang hurried forward, his golden eyes swiftly scanning the scene to confirm no hidden threats.
"How's the situation? Are your injuries serious?"
Seeing Yue Chengzhang approach, Qi Junyi's taut nerves seemed to relax a bit.
Although he disagreed with the Supervision Bureau's 'rigid justice' crowd, he also knew Yue Chengzhang's character and ability, recognizing him as reliable reinforcements.
"Captain Yue's grand arrival is truly a timely rain."
Qi Junyi tugged at the corner of his mouth, as a greeting, his tone still carrying his characteristic laziness and sarcasm, with less pointedness.
"A minor injury is no problem; I almost got blown to pieces by some lunatic who appeared out of nowhere with artillery."
He gave a brief account, conveying the main situation.
"The auction went awry; the mutation in that person suddenly went berserk. While I was suppressing him, two unidentified attackers emerged, targeting that girl. Of course, I can't tell you the reason."
"Those two—one had insanely fierce firepower, the other... specialized in illusion, probably one of those cultists. Chi Jinan fought with that firepower guy, and now their whereabouts are unknown."
Upon hearing this, a sharp glint flashed in Yue Chengzhang's golden eyes.
"Is there also an opponent that can make Chi Jinan chase personally?"
He immediately realized the issue; Chi Jinan is not the type to follow orders obediently.
"Do you need me to send someone to help search for Deputy Chi?"
Qi Junyi shook his head, his gaze sweeping over the unconscious Ye Lin on the ground and the bound Lin Hao.
"The matter of Chi Jinan is left to you, Captain Yue, to worry about more; they were swept away by a spatial turbulence, maybe they'll return on their own later."
Yue Chengzhang froze instantly.
Qi Junyi wasn't afraid of Chi Jinan getting lost; he was mainly worried about what trouble he might cause outside, and evidently Yue Chengzhang also realized this.
Qi Junyi gave an immoral laugh; this time he finally wasn't headache‑ridden over Chi Jinan's affairs.
He paused briefly, steering the conversation back on track.
"These two are the key evidence and suspects for the Heresy Tribunal's current operation; I must take them back immediately for thorough interrogation. Details are inconvenient to elaborate; this already exceeds the Supervision Bureau's ordinary jurisdiction."
Yue Chengzhang looked at Qi Junyi, then glanced at the one person and one Aberrant Species on the ground, realizing his words were reasonable.
The Judgment Court indeed possesses higher authority and specialized means when dealing with 'heretics' and highly dangerous special entities.
After all, they answer only to the Pope.
He may not like some of the Heresy Tribunal's overly cruel methods, but right now protecting the Church's interests and uncovering the truth are the top priority.
"I understand," Yue Chengzhang said, nodding.
"I will immediately dispatch personnel, using the auction house as the center to search outward for Chi Jinan's whereabouts; the subsequent on‑site investigation here and the handling of ordinary personnel will be handed over to the Supervision Bureau."
"Much obliged," Qi Junyi gave a slight nod, accepting the request.
Having conveyed the most important matters, Qi Junyi's gaze fell again onto Ye Lin, curled up on the ground.
He crouched down, not roughly, but with an scrutinizing, oppressive stare, examining her closely.
The girl's eyes were tightly shut, her breathing steady and prolonged, as if still immersed in the anesthesia‑induced sleep.
But Qi Junyi's eyes narrowed slightly, and the corner of his mouth lifted into a smile lacking any warmth.
He had just had his life nearly blown away by artillery for this little girl, yet she ends up lying here comfortable and at ease?
