Chapter 245

"It seems Sun Jian has no way to deal with Yuan Shu's army?"

Everyone watched the great battle between the two sides. Sun Jian attacked with all his might, and every time he could climb onto the city wall of Hefei, he would soon be beaten down.

Even if Sun Jian and the others climbed onto the city wall, they could not resist the magic technique group of the Soul Dao cultivators under Yuan Shu in Hefei city.

It was just like the Daoist master group of the Taiping Dao in those years, which was also very terrifying. Whether it was the Battle of Julu or the Battle of Yingchuan, the Yellow Turban's Daoist master group played no small role.

Of course, there were also Daoist masters under Su Fan, but he never treated these people as mages, but as researchers and scientific personnel.

Just acting as mages was simply too much of a waste of talent.

Now that so many years had passed, the effect was still quite good, and the productivity under Su Fan's rule had increased significantly.

Whether it was agriculture or industry, especially in terms of military industry, looking at the world, he dared to say he was second, and no one dared to claim to be first.

There were quite a few Soul Refining experts under Yuan Shu, because of the Yuan clan's foundation, which other warlords could not compare to.

"It is not so easy for Yuan Shu to rely on the magic technique group of Soul Refining experts to block Sun Jian's army."

Su Fan looked at Hefei city. These Soul Refining experts were not robots that could continuously release magic techniques. Releasing magic techniques also consumed a terrifying amount, especially the consumption of spirit.

Once consumed excessively, it was very likely to shorten one's life.

So there was actually a way to deal with this magic technique group, and that was continuous fierce attacks.

This was the most difficult and also the simplest method. It was difficult because fierce attacks and climbing onto the city wall required elites, especially fierce generals.

It was also very simple; it did not require any strategy—it was just one word: reckless.

But not many could do this. At least the fierce generals had to be brave; otherwise, if you were a martial general at the first level of Gang Refining, even if you rushed up, I'm afraid it would be very difficult to come back.

However, there were quite a few fierce generals in Sun Jian's army. He and his son were both fierce generals, and coupled with people like Huang Gai, they were all of the fierce general type.

For the next few days, they launched continuous attacks on Hefei city.

"Lord, it is indeed as you said; those Soul Refining experts in Hefei city are now resting."

"This magic technique group still has great flaws."

"The lord is still wise; letting those Daoist masters of the Taiping Dao research equipment and improve the army's weapons and equipment is the right path."

Everyone had been observing outside the Hefei battlefield for several days. They hid on the periphery to observe the great battle between the two sides.

This was also to make full preparations for facing Sun Jian or Yuan Shu in the future.

These days, they personally saw Sun Jian and the fierce generals under his command personally lead teams every day to rush onto the city wall of Hefei, and then be blown off the city wall time and time again. Even if injured, they would not stop.

As a result, Yuan Shu's magic technique group finally could not take it anymore.

After all, it was not a conventional method, so after the magic technique group went out, they could only rely on real swords and guns to fight hard.

With real swords and guns, the martial generals present could see that Yuan Shu's army could not compare to Sun Jian's.

Whether it was the martial generals leading the army or the low-level soldiers, Yuan Shu could not compare to Sun Jian.

These days, if it were not for those magic technique groups constantly threatening with magic techniques, making Sun Jian unable to make the final breakthrough, I am afraid Sun Jian's army would have already entered Hefei city.

"It seems Ji Ling cannot hold Hefei city."

Ji Ling's ability was considered not bad; placed in the Donghai Territory, he could be considered a mid-level martial general, but compared to the outstanding Sun Jian, he was still a few grades worse.

Sun Jian's ability was considered top-tier in the Donghai Territory. In one-on-one troop leadership, no martial general in the Donghai Territory dared to say that he could suppress the other party.

Of course, the premise was that the military equipment and soldiers of both sides were similar.

What was the advantage of the Donghai Territory? Besides elite soldiers, the biggest advantage was the unparalleled logistics and military equipment.

"Not necessarily!"

Su Fan shook his head and said: "Sun Jian is brave, but even if Ji Ling has no trump cards, Sun Jian's biggest flaw has also been exposed. It just depends on whether Ji Ling can discover it and find the right time for a fatal blow."

"Gongda, do you think it's like this?"

Su Fan saw the strange look in Xun You's eyes flash by; obviously, he also saw Sun Jian's biggest weakness now.

As for Wei Yan and the other young generals, they were still a few grades worse.

It was also true that although their strength was quite good and they were all famous generals and commanders in later generations, they were very young at the moment, only twenty years old, and had not experienced many battles, even though they had attended quite a few classes at the Lecture Hall.

But there was a considerable difference between theoretical knowledge and practice.

Otherwise, the eternal example of "talking about soldiers on paper" would not have appeared in history.

"Lord, what weakness does Sun Jian have now? Isn't he very fierce right now, pressing Ji Ling until he can hardly breathe?"

Wei Yan and the other generals, after listening, were full of doubts. On the battlefield right now, Sun Jian's army had already occupied a great advantage.

They saw Sun Jian's army, and more and more soldiers had climbed onto the city wall of Hefei.

They could see that the morale of the Hefei city defenders was getting weaker day by day.

"Gongda, you explain it to them."

Su Fan laughed.

"Grain and grass!"

Xun You said two words simply. After a while, Wei Yan and the others' eyes lit up.

"Does the lord mean that Sun Jian is short of grain?"

"It's about that. Sun Jian's army is not short of it now, but there is absolutely not much grain and grass left, so the time left for him is naturally not much."

"Sun Jian attacked Jiujiang, and the battle line was stretched too long. Although he took several county cities in Jiujiang Commandery, there would not be too much grain and grass."

"Supply is difficult. If he needs to transport it from Yuzhang, even if he takes the waterway, it is not easy. As long as Ji Ling can intercept it on the water and hold Hefei city firmly, once the time is up, Sun Jian will be short of grain and grass and can only retreat."

"Even if he does not retreat in time, I am afraid there is a danger of the army being wiped out. This is why he has been attacking Hefei city recklessly these days. Besides consuming the magic technique group under Yuan Gonglu, he also hopes to take Hefei city as soon as possible."

Su Fan continued to explain.

Although Su Fan rarely commanded battles, it did not mean he did not understand military affairs. On the contrary, in terms of military ability, Su Fan was absolutely no worse than the top talents of this world.

After all, he had actually lived for three lifetimes, especially in his previous life, he participated in the struggle for the world.

He had both theory and practice.

It was just that as a lord, he rarely took action personally. He was not a lord like Lv Bu who had no one under his command.

He had many strategists and martial generals under his command, and there was no need for him to take action at all. As a lord, he could just be a hands-off manager.
