Chapter 133: Burning the Wall
Su Jie had asked similar questions before, but that was based on the fact that Li Cheng and Su Jie knew each other.
After a moment's thought, Li Cheng murmured, "How is that Felix doing?"
?
Father Andre's temple twitched—he was fucking kidding me, reusing the same line? You're recycling scripts now? I'm not Su Jie; I don't know any Felix.
He slowly lowered his pistol, lowering his guard—ordinary pseudohumans couldn't make such neurotic gestures.
Previously, he had never met Master Pi Fu; if he wanted to gain trust, he'd have to reveal information impossible to fake, and in doing so, risk exposing personal privacy or his true identity.
This Master Pi Fu was clearly a genius at feigning ignorance.
He discovered that the maze changed in 10x10 meter sections, and each time it changed, it first generated a cross-shaped sealed wall, then cut openings into the walls to form three branches.
"Maybe the highest level of deception is tricking yourself too," Li Cheng remained unmoved. "Like the big yellow dog downstairs— he thinks since oil floats on water, smearing himself with oil on a rainy day will let him fly."
Ignoring Andre's face slowly turning constipated, Li Cheng's expression turned serious, speaking with casual ease: "Anyway, since you've already completed this project, let me try? In exchange, I'll tell you the contents of two projects in the Dream Garden zone."
The pirate ship project was indoors; the so-called "drifting" was merely completing one loop around a circular canal.
I think ordinary pseudohumans can't be this fucking weird.
This clearly parodies the plot from Shakespeare's comedy The Merchant of Venice, where the sixteenth-century Venetian Jewish merchant Shylock, still bitter over rival Antonio's opposition, set a trap during the loan contract signing, demanding a pound of flesh from Antonio's body.
As for why there's a scale in the maze, it probably has something to do with Walt Disney's strong anti-Semitic tendencies, just like Shakespeare's, and his willingness to display them in early Disney animations.
Due to the amusement park's strict ban on drones, ordinary visitors who wander in might spend half an hour or even an hour trying to find the exit, growing more anxious and thus more trapped—ultimately dying inside the maze like Jack Torrance from The Shining.
"No, that's not enough," Li Cheng shook his head decisively, keeping his gun raised. "Rule three: don't trust any companion who has been separated more than once. Who knows if the park brainwashes, controls, or reads visitors' memories to create pseudohumans?"
Facing the scale, Li Cheng took a canned meat ration from the White Bone Corridor and placed about a pound's worth on the scale—no reaction.
He muttered in amazement, using the ship's cannons, swords, and blades to shoot down the flying fruit projectiles along the way.
Of course, the actual details couldn't be told to Andre.
This change matched the computer-generated maze's cross-split method—the cross-point's horizontal coordinate is even, map rows and hole positions are odd, and the random number increases from 1 to 9. Once the pattern was clear, Li Cheng easily passed half the maze, arriving at the center, only to find no path ahead—only a scale, beneath which a stone platform demanded a pound of flesh.
The scale demanded a pound of flesh freshly cut from his own body.
Gray Rain, the liquid metal robot, had excellent heat insulation, shielding Li Cheng as he burned through the maze—though the nearly one-ton weight nearly crushed his internal organs.
Since Master Pi Fu had shown sincerity by revealing the two projects he completed in the Dream Garden zone, Andre now explained their contents.
From the start, Li Cheng activated the Multi-Threaded Mind Method; after entering the maze, he observed all directions, listened to all sounds, and constructed a mental palace in his mind to record every change pattern of the maze.
This was asking for trouble—Li Cheng decisively ignored the scale, pulled out his nuclear lighter, turned it to level four, and set the hedges ablaze, while letting Gray Rain slightly melt into a blanket covering his body.
"The carousel project is simple: just ride the animated horses and cross the finish line within the time limit. As for the hedge maze, I've already burned through it with Qinglian Heartfire—just walk straight out."
Suddenly, a shrill alarm siren pierced the sky, cutting off his words.
Unexpectedly, just as Father Andre lowered his gun, he saw the other man raise an assault rifle, aiming it at him with a serious expression: "What proof do you have that you're a real human?"
After completing the Carousel project, he completed the Hedge Maze project.
Saying this, Li Cheng paused, muttering to himself with three parts confusion, three parts fear, and three parts bewilderment: "Wait… could I be a pseudohuman?"
He took a deep breath and said slowly: "The first thing I said when I joined this mission was, 'Sorry, I'm late.'"
Li Cheng casually spoke, boarded the pirate ship, as Andre looked puzzled.
The hedges couldn't be climbed; whenever someone tried to scale them, they grew taller, always blocking the visitor's view.
Considering the U. S. passed the Anti-Semitism Awareness Act in 2024, if Walt Disney and Shakespeare—who wrote such anti-Semitic works as The Merchant of Venice—were resurrected, they'd likely be instantly sentenced and sent to prison.
"The other project in Pirate Bay is the swinging pirate ship, lasting eight minutes. The first three minutes are identical to the normal pirate ship ride—swinging back and forth from slow to fast, requiring unsecured visitors not to be thrown off; the final five minutes, the pirate ship inverts and plunges into the ocean, requiring visitors to hold their breath underwater for five minutes."
Father Andre said slowly: "If you were a pseudohuman, why bother participating in the amusement projects—and afterward, leave hints for other companions on paper like I did?"
???
Father Andre's temple throbbed violently; if not for his clerical status, he would've already cursed.
It was a massive maze built from hedges, requiring visitors to walk from entrance to exit, during which the internal structure changed at regular intervals.
"Fruit expert, huh?"
Yet ironically, after Walt Disney's death, the Disney Corporation, due to poor management, was swiftly infiltrated, acquired, and dominated by Jewish conglomerates; the CEO position shifted from a Disney family member to the Jewish Michael Eisner, who then launched a counterattack against Disney's original culture.
The air raid siren… went off?!
The sound echoed throughout the entire amusement park; every surviving visitor looked up at the sky, their faces turning grim.
