Chapter 258: A Flying Dart!
Damn it!
Ling Qingwu returned to her room and slammed her fist on the table. Several disciples fell silent, not daring to make a sound.
Her eyes were filled with anger.
The National Master's subordinates forcibly threw her into a street corner, leaving her in a sorry state and losing all face.
The more she thought about it, the angrier she became, blaming all her faults on Ye Qingran.
If it weren't for Ye Qingran, that fox spirit who uses her charms to bewitch the National Master, why would she worry about failing to persuade him?
"Senior sister, Ye Qingran is really going too far. Look how long we've been in Xiliang City—she keeps making us look foolish, obviously doing it on purpose to target us!"
"Exactly, she made us lose all face; we can't let her off easily!"
……
Several disciples whispered.
Ling Qingwu glanced at them and asked, "Do you have any good ideas?"
Several disciples pondered for a moment, and one male disciple's eyes lit up. "Senior sister, do you remember? Last time Ye Huanhuan told us Ye Qingran had two children—one is the National Master's biological son, the other is her own."
"Ye Qingran's own child?!" Ling Qingwu's eyes flashed. Ye Huanhuan had indeed said that.
She couldn't help recalling how, just earlier on the street, Ye Qingran had been holding a child in each hand—one looked almost exactly like the National Master, while the other did not resemble him much.
He, perhaps, is Ye Qingran's child?
Thinking of this, Ling Qingwu couldn't help curling her lips, a terrible plot brewing in her eyes.
"Ye Qingran, if your child died, wouldn't you be desperate?"
Not long after, she summoned Ye Huanhuan.
The notorious Ye Huanhuan hadn't dared leave her room these past few days, hiding away and growing thin. But whenever Ye Qingran was mentioned, her beautiful eyes were filled with hatred.
She had lost her position as Crown Princess, been forced to run naked in public, and had her purity taken by the Fourth Prince—all thanks to Ye Qingran!
She hated Ye Qingran to death!
If she could, she would make Ye Qingran die without a burial place!
"Senior sister, did you summon me for Ye Qingran's matter?"
Ling Qingwu gestured for her to sit, then coldly said, "Not bad—I summoned you today to discuss how to take revenge on Ye Qingran."
Ye Huanhuan's face immediately brightened.
Seeing Ye Huanhuan's reaction, Ling Qingwu added, "Huanhuan, Senior Sister knows you've suffered many grievances lately—rest assured, as a disciple of the Xuan Yuan Sword Sect and my father's apprentice, I won't stand by and do nothing."
Ye Huanhuan's heart was slightly moved, seeing Ling Qingwu's eyes full of gratitude.
She eagerly asked, "Senior sister, do you have any plans?"
Ling Qingwu nodded and said, "I do have a plan, but I need your help!"
"Senior sister, tell me what I need to do!" Ye Huanhuan clenched her fists, trembling with excitement. As long as Ye Qingran pays a heavy price, she will spare no effort!
Ling Qingwu was very pleased with Ye Huanhuan's reaction, saying, "Rest assured, as long as I'm here, I won't let Ye Qingran off the hook! By the way, do you have any leverage over Ye Qingran?"
Ye Huanhuan thought for a moment, then slapped her hand excitedly and said, "Ye Qingran once secretly conceived children with a wild man, bearing two kids, but I and Lin Xueyan cut them out of her belly and threw them into the wilderness. Unexpectedly, one child survived and she found him, while the other's fate is unknown! Ye Qingran previously didn't know she had two children, or perhaps I only told her recently to provoke her. She must now be desperately searching for that child."
Ling Qingwu had never known about this.
Ye Qingran's indiscreet affairs with men were known to her, but she didn't know Ye Qingran had once been pregnant with two children, which Ye Huanhuan and another person had ripped out of her womb.
She gave Ye Huanhuan a meaningful glance, thinking, I never expected Ye Huanhuan to be such a ruthless person—years ago she was already this cruel, doing something so heinous.
A dark gleam flashed quickly across Ling Qingwu's eyes!
"That child, do you have any leads?"
Ye Huanhuan shook her head. "Back then we threw the two children into Broken Soul Abyss; one survived, the other probably didn't have such luck—likely devoured by wild beasts."
That even one of the children survived amazed her greatly.
Ling Qingwu nodded slowly, a idea gradually forming in her mind.
After a while, she leaned close to Ye Huanhuan's ear and whispered, "Like this, you…"
Ye Huanhuan's eyes suddenly lit up upon hearing it.
A malicious smile appeared on her face.
The night was like water; a sharp arrow pierced the air, tore through the darkness, and lodged in the pillar of Ting Yu Xuan's main hall.
Ye Qingran happened to come out of her children's room, saw the dart stuck in the pillar, and noticed its cold gleam in the night.
She paused slightly, glanced in the direction the dart came from—there the night was silent, without a stir.
She took down the dart, which had a folded paper tied to it; unfolding it, she read a few words: "If you want to know your child's whereabouts, hurry to East Suburb Charity House."
Seeing the content, Ye Qingran felt her blood run cold!
Child…
It must be referring to the second child!
Few people know she has two children!
Who fired this dart, exactly?
Ye Qingran's eyes flickered, her whole body trembling slightly.
Although she knew it was likely a trap, she couldn't help but believe it.
She gripped the paper, silently resolved. After instructing Han Xing Leng Yue to look after the two children, she left the Ye Residence alone and rushed toward East Suburb.
Along the way, Ye Qingran couldn't describe her feelings.
Her intuition told her it was a trap, yet emotionally she held endless anticipation.
Not long after, she arrived at East Suburb Charity House.
The Charity House was vast, but abandoned long ago because it was a place for laying out corpses, making it gloomy. Even at night, despite being deserted for ages, few dared approach, hardly any footprints, utterly still; a night wind blew, making one shiver.
Yet Ye Qingran felt little fear; she only wanted to find out who had shot that dart!
The charity house was pitch black; she leapt a few times and arrived inside the charity house, where ruined walls and broken walls lay in disarray, and even in some corners one could see abandoned coffins.
The shrill cries of some wild beasts and birds, in this environment, seemed especially eerie and terrifying, as if ghosts were weeping.
At that moment, Ye Qingran's peripheral vision caught a flash of a figure; she moved her body and gave chase, and in a spacious, flat courtyard of the charity house, she saw that figure.
The newcomer was dressed in black from head to toe, with their back to her, and was a woman.
"Was it you who threw the flying dart?" Ye Qingran shouted.
That person slowly turned around; even in the pitch-black night, through the faint light, Ye Qingran could make out that person's features.
