Chapter 321: Let Me Try It Then
"Pah— dizziness aside, how can there still be grit in my mouth!" Huo La staggered to steady himself, spat out a mouthful of saliva, rubbed his swollen temples with his fingertips, shook his head hard, trying to dispel the vertigo from Instant Teleportation.
When he just passed through the Stone Wall Rift, the impact of Spacetime Turbulence made his whole body feel heavy, and his mouth was still coated with fine stone fragments, gritty and abrasive.
A voice nearby immediately echoed, equally ragged: "Sigh, indeed it's full of grit, almost choked me."
Huo La turned his head and saw Ming Yao looking just like him, leaning against a cold rock wall, his brows knotted, spitting out stone grit while rubbing his dizzy head, a few specks of dust on his face, clearly also battered by Spacetime Turbulence.
"Ming Yao, you're the only one who came with me?" Huo La's gaze passed Ming Yao, looking toward the empty space behind him, his tone tinged with surprise.
"What? If I hadn't been quick‑eyed and grabbed your arm tightly, I'd have been flung over there too." Ming Yao, catching his breath, rolled his eyes helplessly.
Following his line of sight, Huo La saw Darkrai hovering nearby, its surrounding black mist denser than ever before, but lacking the usual chill and sharpness, replaced by an almost urgent scorching.
Its gaze burned, fixed on the center of the space, body trembling slightly yet forcibly restrained, as if fearing something, its expression grim to a frightening degree.
"Problem!" Deoxys's cold voice suddenly rang in Huo La's Heart Lake, tone bearing rare caution, "The Spacetime Energy in this area is chaotic, and over at the Stone Platform there's a strong Chaonengbodong, plus a strange suction."
Only then did Huo La fully regain his senses, quickly suppressing the dizziness in his mind, gathering his spirit, his eyes swiftly scanning the space he occupied.
It was a closed Cave space, all four sides smooth rock walls, no branches, only above the ceiling faint specks of light filtered through cracks in the rock, barely illuminating the whole area, adding a strange hazy feel.
At the very center of the Cave stood an ancient Stone Platform, its surface covered with the marks of time, etched with vague patterns, unclear whether natural or man‑made.
On the top of the Stone Platform lay a flat Stone Tablet, its surface emitting a faint glow, with energy subtly flowing among the patterns.
Most startling was that directly in front of the Stone Tablet hovered a pitch‑black Rift, small yet exuding a powerful suction, the surrounding air twisted and churned, emitting a faint hum.
In front of the Rift, a Pokemon was being firmly held by the strong suction, limbs tense, unable to move, its aura growing ever weaker, clearly having exhausted much of its strength.
That Pokemon had a light‑blue body, a soft yellow belly, warm like moonlight;
On each side of its head grew two crescent‑shaped yellow ornaments, slightly curved, exuding a hint of sanctity;
Pink circular wings gently pressed against its sides and back, wing edges glowing with a faint halo, now drooping weakly;
It bore claw‑like tips, tightly curled on its chest, expression feeble yet still bearing a trace of stubbornness.
It was the legendary Pokemon that governs dreams and the moon, capable of dispelling nightmares—Cresselia.
"It's Cresselia!" Ming Yao shouted, his expression instantly turning cautious, "It— it's been sucked by the Rift!"
Huo La's heart sank sharply, his fingertips tightened slightly; indeed it was Cresselia, but how could it be trapped by the Rift here?
The reason Darkrai sensed its aura yet couldn't locate it was that it was imprisoned within this closed Spacetime Turbulence.
And Darkrai, now unable to hold back, drifted slowly toward the Stone Platform, its black mist thickening, eyes filled with urgency and worry, yet still cautiously avoiding the Rift's suction, daring not to approach rashly.
"Interdimensional Energy......"
Huo La squinted slightly, his fingertips subconsciously tightening, his aura growing heavy.
He keenly sensed that the energy coiling around Cresselia, imprisoning it before the Rift, was exactly the same as the Interdimensional Energy on every Pokémon King, and carried an irresistible suppressive force.
Beside him, Darkrai, long unable to contain its inner urgency and anger, let out a sharp roar that shattered the Cave's silence, its black mist roiling ever more violently, nearly engulfing the entire Stone Platform.
It simply could not watch Cresselia being sucked by the Rift and bound by Interdimensional Energy; the dark Energy Orb that Huo La had previously intercepted, which hadn't been hurled at the Stone Wall, quickly re‑condensed in its palm, its energy fluctuations far more violent than before.
Without waiting for Huo La to speak, Darkrai abruptly raised its hand, hurling the Energy Orb at the pitch‑black Rift—speeding like lightning, bearing a world‑shattering momentum, as if to shatter the Rift that imprisoned Cresselia in one blow.
Huo La and Ming Yao simultaneously held their breath, eyes fixed on the soaring Energy Orb, each hoping it would work at once and save Cresselia.
Yet the expected deafening explosion never came.
The dark Energy Orb, as it neared the Rift, was suddenly drawn by an invisible suction; the once‑raging energy instantly became docile, then, in an extremely strange manner, was slowly devoured by the Rift, leaving no trace, as if it had never existed.
"How can this be?!" Ming Yao shouted, disbelief written across his face, "The Energy Orb was actually sucked in?"
Huo La's brows knit tightly, a hint of gravity flashing in his eyes.
This Rift was far stranger than he imagined; it could not only trap Cresselia but also devour Darkrai's energy.
And Darkrai, clearly enraged by the scene, its urgent gaze turned fully ferocious.
Unwilling to give up, it roared, its palm swiftly conjuring several more dark Energy Orbs, each wave more intense than the last, then without hesitation hurled them all at the Rift.
Yet the result was unchanged.
Those Energy Orbs, regardless of speed or power, when nearing the Rift, were drawn by that invisible suction and, in the same strange manner, were individually devoured by the Rift, emitting no sound and leaving no energy residue.
All attacks sank like stones in the sea, utterly ineffective.
The successive failed attacks made Darkrai increasingly restless; it hovered in place, continuously roaring, its black mist nearly coalescing into substance, yet it dared not launch another rash attack.
Huo La slowly stepped forward, eyes fixed on the Rift and the bound Cresselia, his tone grave as he said, "Useless, Darkrai. This Rift can devour your energy; attacking rashly will only be counterproductive. Let me try."
