Chapter 365: Who Designed This Broken Gate?
On the road to Snow Peak Temple.
"Huo La, you're amazing, you solved the Bee Queen's matter so easily," Xiao Zhao said, full of admiration.
Huo La laughed and shook his head, "It's just taking advantage of a knowledge gap. These things aren't systematized in this era, but will become ordinary common sense in the future."
Ming Yao, standing nearby, also nodded in agreement.
During the three days, Huo La had him and Xiao Zhao each bring a Three Bees for intensive paired training.
As soon as a Three Bees' stamina recovered, they immediately resumed the sparring.
Under such almost harsh honing, the two Three Bees finally both evolved on the afternoon of the third day, becoming Bee Queens and successfully fulfilling the pact with the Bee Queen.
"I've decided," Xiao Zhao suddenly clenched his fist, eyes shining, "From now on I will become a Pokemon Researcher, recording all the Pokemon I encounter, their habits and knowledge for future generations."
Huo La was momentarily startled, then smiled and nodded, "Alright! When I get back, I'll go through all your writings and show them off—after all, I fought side by side with you; your path as a researcher was introduced by me."
Ming Yao, hearing Huo La's words, also laughed, it was clear that Xiao Zhao had finally found what he truly wanted to do.
But Xiao Zhao's face held little smile, instead a hint of melancholy, his voice soft, "Huo La, after you go back... will we never meet again?"
Huo La froze, looked at Xiao Zhao, then raised his gaze to the conspicuous Space-time Rift in the sky, and finally let out a light sigh, "We are already separated by a thousand years of Time and Space; to meet, accompany, and adventure together already counts as…"
He didn't finish the rest, but Xiao Zhao understood.
Even Ming Yao beside them wore a few unspeakable traces of loneliness.
"Enough of that, ahead is Snow Peak Temple, we're preparing to descend," Huo La said, looking at the increasingly clear Snow Peak Temple in the distance, breaking the silence.
Ming Yao and Xiao Zhao quickly steadied themselves and together gazed at the Gujia Shenmiao standing amid ice and snow.
At the Snow Peak Temple Entrance, Bin Lian and Shan Kui had long been waiting in place.
Members of the Galaxy Team had earlier relayed the news that the three were about to arrive.
The three leapt down from the Gyarados's back, Huo La retrieved his Pokeball, looked at Bin Lian, and raised his hand in greeting, "Field Master Bin Lian, nice to see you again."
Bin Lian laughed and patted his shoulder, "Indeed, I never expected you to be so efficient; in less than half a month you already gathered all the Stone Tablets."
"Can't help it, I'm already eager to meet Regigigas," Huo La said bluntly.
Shan Kui, impatiently waving beside them, said, "Let's go, let's go, I can't wait either, hurry inside!"
On the lowest level of Snow Peak Temple, Huo La, Shan Kui, and Field Master Bin Lian stood side by side, each facing a deep Stone Slab Groove, tightly holding the corresponding Stone Tablet, their expressions solemn and focused.
Huo La took a deep breath, suppressed his excitement, and was the first to insert his Stone Tablet into the groove.
"Kada" a light sound rang, the Stone Tablet sealed tightly with the wall.
Shan Kui and Field Master Bin Lian exchanged a glance, moved simultaneously, and precisely pressed their Stone Tablets into the matching grooves.
The moment the three Stone Tablets fully fitted into the wall, the long-silent Stone Gate suddenly emitted a clear, crisp "Kachak" sound.
Immediately after, the entire Snow Peak Temple seemed awakened, began shaking violently, and countless tiny ice shards fell rustling from the dome.
Accompanied by a teeth‑tingling screech, the two stone doors, sealed for a thousand years and immensely heavy, finally loosened and then slammed forcefully toward the rear.
"Peng! Peng!"
The two deafening booms erupted, a massive Smokescreen with dust and ice‑snow fragments instantly spreading in all directions, completely enveloping the temple's depths.
As time slowly passed, the smoke and dust in Snow Peak Temple's lower level gradually settled, the pervasive gray haze faded by more than half, and the three silhouettes at the center of the smoke each slowly opened their eyes.
"Pee—who designed this busted gate! Damn, it doesn't swing open to the sides, it falls inward!" Huo La spat out dust forcefully while flailing his body, the ash on him falling off in a mess.
Shan Kui and Bin Lian beside him were no better off.
The two mimicked Huo La, shaking their heads vigorously, patting the dust off themselves, brows tightly knit, and couldn't help muttering complaints under their breath.
The Stone Gate had fallen so fast that the three had no time to react, being engulfed by the smoke; fortunately it slammed inward toward the temple interior—had it fallen outward, they would likely have become meat paste by now, a thought that still gave them chills.
Just as the three clumsily cleared the dust from themselves, Ming Yao's voice came from afar, crisp and decisive: "Murk Eagle, use Blow Away!"
The moment the words ended, the three felt a strong gust sweep from behind, instantly blowing all the dust off their bodies clean, not even a speck of fine ash hidden in their hair remained.
Compared with the three's disheveled state, Xiao Zhao and Ming Yao were much more composed.
They had originally stood at a moderate distance from the three; when the Stone Gate fell, they immediately reacted, swiftly retreating backward to avoid the smoke.
At the same time, Ming Yao promptly released the Murk Eagle; the gust from its flapping not only dispersed the stray dust before them but also rushed to rescue Huo La's three.
"Are you okay?" As the wind subsided, Ming Yao hurried forward, his tone carrying some concern, his eyes scanning the marks on Huo La's three.
Huo La brushed the fine dust from his coat's edge, a helpless smile tugging his lips, and replied, "I'm fine, just a bit disheveled, no injuries."
Speaking, he lifted his gaze toward the direction the Stone Gate fell, his brows slightly furrowing—behind the gate the dust remained thick, and the deep temple's dim light severely obscured his view, making the interior impossible to see.
After a moment's thought, Huo La no longer hesitated, tossed a Pokeball, and in a deep voice said, "Fireburst Beast, come out."
Huo La softly instructed the Fireburst Beast, "Throw some Embers into the sky inside, control the power, let the Embers burn out mid‑air, and don't affect anything inside."
Receiving Huo La's command, the Fireburst Beast immediately nodded, opened its mouth and spewed countless tiny Embers, the Embers like specks of starlight flying toward the darkness behind the Stone Gate.
These Embers burned slowly in the air, emitting a gentle glow that instantly illuminated most of the area behind the gate.
At the moment he saw the scene behind the gate, Huo La's pupils suddenly contracted, he couldn't help inhaling a sharp breath of cold air, and the composure on his face completely.
