Chapter 366: He Said, He's a Little Itchy?

~6 min read 1,030 words

A towering figure as majestic as a mountain peak stood silently behind the main gate, its massive body covered in emerald green moss, as if merged with this ancient Temple, exuding the weight and stillness of ages.

Its chest bore six embedded gems, two red, two green, two gray, neatly arranged, but the great age had the red, green, and gray lusters hidden beneath thick moss and dust, rendering them dim and lifeless, with only faint outlines revealing the gems' shapes.

In front of the figure, five stone statues stood in sequence on either side—three on the left, two on the right—each with a completely different design, some wholly rock-like, some covered with icy patterns, some shimmering with metallic sheen, their expressions solemn, standing silently as if guarding the central massive figure.

"Regigigas!" Huo La stared at the mountain‑like figure, his pupils suddenly contracting, his eyes filled with awe, then his gaze swept the statues on both sides, and he called out their names in order, "Regirock, Regice, Registeel, Regieleki, Regidrago!"

Listening to Huo La utter the string of unfamiliar and imposing names, Ming Yao, Xiao Zhao, Shan Kui, and Bin Lian gradually recovered from their initial shock, their gazes fixed on the massive figure and the five statues before them, their faces full of disbelief.

Shan Kui, impatient by nature, couldn't help but jab Huo La's arm, tone laced with curiosity and doubt: "That one in the middle is Regigigas? Is it what brought you here? Why does it stay motionless—could it be dead?"

"No, it's not that it's motionless; it's that it cannot move," Bin Lian spoke first, his voice trembling slightly, his eyes fixed on Regigigas's body, his tone grave, "Regigigas's form is now firmly bound to this Snow Peak Temple; if it shifts even an inch, the entire mountain and the temple will collapse together."

He paused, then added, his tone now tinged with dread, "When that happens, not only will we be buried beneath the Temple, but all humans and Pokemon around Snow Peak will face total annihilation."

Huo La inhaled deeply, suppressing the turmoil within, lifted his gaze toward the towering Regigigas before him, his tone solemn, without extra courtesy, and slowly said, "Regigigas, I have arrived!"

A simple sentence, yet it bore a weight of a thousand tons.

As if responding to Huo La's summons, the six once-dull gems on Regigigas's chest suddenly began to flicker faintly, emitting a weak yet clear glow.

Then, Deoxys's voice rang in Huo La's mind, its tone tinged with disbelief: "It told you to release the Fireburst Beast, to burn the moss on its body—It said, it feels a bit itchy?"

Huo La heard this, a flash of astonishment crossing his face, then quickly composed himself, fell silent for a moment, turned to the nearby Fireburst Beast and said gravely, "Fireburst Beast, use Flamethrower to burn away all the moss on Regigigas's body; be careful to control your power."

"Wait!"

Bin Lian's complexion changed abruptly upon hearing the command, and he instinctively moved to step forward to stop it.

But as soon as the words left his mouth, the Fireburst Beast's Flamethrower erupted.

A gentle yet powerful blaze swept over, devoid of any ferocity, precisely enveloping Regigigas's form; the dense moss that had covered it was instantly incinerated, turning into black ash that lightly clung to its surface.

Ming Yao, seeing this, thought briefly and immediately instructed the Murk Eagle in the air, "Murk Eagle, use a gust to blow away all the ash on Regigigas!"

The Murk Eagle flapped its wings in response, a gentle gale sweeping in, precisely passing over Regigigas's body, scattering all the black ash from its surface without leaving a trace.

After all this, Regigigas's form appeared noticeably cleaner, the patterns previously hidden by moss now clearly visible, exuding an ancient and powerful aura.

At the same time, the six gems on Regigigas's chest began to flash dazzling light in sequence, red, green, and gray alternating, the brilliance growing brighter, gradually illuminating the entire lower chamber of the Temple, dispelling the surrounding chill and darkness.

As the six gems continued to flash, the five stone statues that had stood silently beside Regigigas suddenly began to shake violently, the rocky fragments attached to them tumbling down with a rustling sound.

Moments later, the rocks fell away completely, revealing five Pokemon of varied forms and imposing presence, each surrounded by a faint aura of energy, their gazes wary yet reverent toward Regigigas.

Xiao Zhao stared dumbfounded, instinctively tugging Huo La's sleeve and softly asking, "Huo La, what are they..."

Huo La's gaze remained fixed on the five Pokemon, his tone solemn as he replied, "They are the owners of the five names I just mentioned, Pokemon created by Regigigas, and its most loyal guardians."

As Huo La's words faded, a deep, heavy voice slowly echoed throughout the Temple, bearing the wear of ages and undeniable authority, "Time and Space traveler from the future, his chosen one, you have finally come before me."

Huo La felt a sudden jolt in his mind, silently exclaiming, "Whoa... Regigigas can actually speak human language!"

Among the Pokemon he had encountered, some could speak human words, such as Old Ghost and Meowth, but most Pokemon could only understand human speech and could not directly communicate in human language.

The Regigigas before him, already fused with Snow Peak, could speak coherent sentences clearly, which truly surprised him.

But the next second, Regigigas's words made his heart tighten—"Wait! What does \"his chosen one, finally came before me\" mean?"

Huo La slightly furrowed his brows, his expression full of surprise and doubt, his gaze locked on the towering Regigigas before him, his mind repeatedly pondering the meaning of the sentence, and for a moment he became somewhat dazed.

Before he could think further, Regigigas's deep, weighty voice echoed again in the Temple, bearing an unchallengeable authority, "I already know your purpose, but to obtain the Stone Tablet in my hand, you must still pass my trial."

The words paused briefly, its gaze sweeping over the five awakened guardians beside it, its tone solemnly adding, "And your trial is to defeat my children."
