Chapter 401: My First Companion on My Return

~6 min read 1,008 words

After scrolling for a long time, Huo La finally put down his phone, the tips of his fingers still tingling with the screen's slight coolness.

Perhaps the fatigue from continuously reading news, or perhaps the thought of everything he was about to face, his body went limp and he fell straight onto the back of the KenTaiLuo beside him, leaning against its broad spine, he looked up and sighed, "So troublesome… Ar, no, Ma Shu Mu, what a huge task you've given me!"

As soon as the words left his mouth, Ma Shu Mu's final instructions flashed in his mind—those words about the Stone Tablet, about Time and Space, about responsibility—now turned into a heavy pressure.

He closed his eyes, past scenes and future unknowns intertwined, then opened them again, murmuring low, half complaint, half self‑encouragement: "Ma Shu Mu, you really know how to give me trouble; you'd be better off shouldering it yourself!"

Amid the swirling thoughts, Ma Shu Mu's original admonition rang clearly in his ears.

"Arceus's soul has already returned to the future Time and Space, and the last Stone Tablet in your hand is the only thing that can balance his power."

Huo La raised his hand to rub his throbbing temples, his fingertips pressing his brow to ease fatigue; after a moment of silence, he tapped the phone screen again.

His phone had been modified by Ma Shu Mu, and the basis of the modification was the core functions of that original "system", except that all convenience features that could directly boost his own attributes had been stripped out by Ma Shu Mu.

According to Ma Shu Mu's original explanation, those attribute‑enhancing abilities are essentially extensions of Arceus's own power, not Huo La's own skill.

If Huo La still wants similar abilities, he'd have to install Ma Shu Mu into the phone, letting him simulate the relevant functions.

Nevertheless, Ma Shu Mu didn't completely short‑change him; he deliberately opened a dedicated shop within the phone.

The shop's operation relies entirely on the power of Dialga and Palkia; as long as those two deities are nearby, Huo La can, using their Space‑Time Power, traverse myriad realms and purchase any item he needs.

At that thought, Huo La couldn't help recalling Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina, the three Time‑Space deities.

Regarding their origins, Ma Shu Mu had specifically mentioned them before—among the three, only Giratina is the sole embodiment of its deity, never having had a duplicate since its birth.

As for Dialga and Palkia, their current forms are merely avatars of Time and Space.

The original deity of Time and Space that Arceus created was long ago devoured by itself, dissipating into the torrent of Time and Space.

【7】 "Ah, troublesome, headache, puzzling, someone save me," Huo La sighed heavily, his tone full of irritation and helplessness, muttering while rubbing his throbbing temples again, even his gaze showing fatigue.

"Ah, trouble, headache, incomprehensible, who will save me?" Huo La let out a long sigh, his tone full of irritation and helplessness, muttering while raising his hand to rub his swollen temples again, even his eyes showing a trace of fatigue.

On one side is the Arceus hidden in the unknown, having gathered the Seventeen Plates; on the other is a world fragmented by the eight major villains, a chaotic mess—together they form a mess that saps his strength.

Just then, the guiding Crobat ahead let out a sharp screech, its tone clearly wary, shattering the stillness of the Giant Pit.

Huo La's heart tightened; the body that had been lazily draped over the KenTaiLuo's back sat up abruptly, his gaze instantly sharp, looking toward the direction of the Crobat's call.

Bathed in the white glow emitted by Victreebel's vines, he clearly saw at a nearby rock‑wall corner a Pokemon with long fur and flowing hair, resembling Misdreavus, hovering mid‑air, its eyes flashing with a strange dark light, staring intently downward.

Looking further down, beneath that Misdreavus‑like Pokemon stood a youth in a yellow sports vest, a bulging backpack on his back, his expression a bit frantic yet still forcing composure.

At the youth's feet, a two‑headed, pepper‑shaped Pokemon crouched, both heads slightly lowered, faint sparks flickering from its mouth, assuming a defensive stance, locked in a tense standoff with the Misdreavus, the atmosphere taut.

"There! Over there! Save me, help me!" The youth, catching sight of Huo La, cried out repeatedly as if clutching at a lifeline, his voice full of panic.

Huo La surveyed his attire and instantly recognized the other's identity.

He didn't step forward immediately; instead, he silently aimed his phone's camera at the ghost‑type Pokemon resembling Misdreavus, and rows of clear data instantly popped up on the screen:

"So it's Vibrava," Huo La squinted, then ordered, "Crobat, Supersonic!"

Crobat's wings beat once, its gaze suddenly sharp, diving down like a black shadow.

A sharp, rapid sound wave burst from its mouth, visible ripples of air rushing straight toward Vibrava.

The surprise attack came too fast; Vibrava had no time to react, instantly hit by Supersonic, its aura flickering chaotically, its body wobbling, falling into a confused stupor.

Huo La's gaze hardened, and with his other hand he pulled out a Pokeball and hurled it forcefully.

A flash of red light, and Vibrava was drawn straight into the ball.

The Pokeball wobbled twice in the air, then with a 'click' it locked securely.

"Victreebel," Victreebel responded by swinging a Vine Whip, deftly coiling it to reel the Pokeball back, handing it to Huo La.

Huo La grasped the Pokeball, looked down briefly, and whispered, "You'll be my first companion upon my return."
