Chapter 404: Are You Serious?

~6 min read 1,008 words

Paipa looked at Huo La, saw his earnest gaze, not feigned, finally let out a soft sigh and slowly began, "Huo La, what do you think of the Pokemon World now?"

"What?" the question made Huo La pause slightly, then he felt a bit helpless.

He had just returned from traveling back from Hisui two thousand years ago, his knowledge of the current era limited to scattered news he skimmed on his phone, never having actually stepped into the outside world.

His relatives and friends, due to various concerns, have not yet been able to contact him; at this moment his sense of unfamiliarity with this world is almost the same as when he first arrived in Hisui.

But meeting Paipa's heavy gaze, Huo La pondered briefly, then spoke frankly, "Hard to say, but I always feel this world is very 'chaotic'."

Paipa nodded heavily, his tone full of lament, "Yeah, it's too chaotic."

"Although each region now has its own administrative system, not all regional rulers act with logic and boundaries."

He paused, his tone softened a bit, "Paldea is relatively okay; although the Exploration Team has taken over the whole region, they have no interest in restructuring governance, focusing all their attention on searching for 'Paradise'."

Paradise!

Huo La's ears instantly perked up, keenly catching the name, but he did not rashly interrupt, instead listened calmly, a hint of wariness appearing in his eyes.

Paipa, unaware of his change, continued, "Besides Paldea, each other region has its own difficulties and its own tragedies."

"Take the Hoenn Region, it's now completely turned into a battlefield between Team Magma and Team Aqua, the primal Groudon and primal Kyogre have been fighting nonstop for years, leaving the people in misery."

"If it weren't for the fact that each region's overseer holds absolute power to balance each other, I'm afraid Chi Yan Song and Shui Wu Tong would have long since led their own forces to invade other regions."

"Yet even so, the remaining regional overseers are all ambitious, each with their own schemes, none truly wishing to protect the world. At this rate, this world will inevitably erupt into an all‑out war someday."

Paipa's voice sank, "When that time comes, regardless of who wins the battle, this world will never return to its former stable state."

Huo La fell silent.

He knew Paipa's words were all facts.

Just the hidden threat of Arceus, combined with slight fluctuations of the Space‑Time Trio, had already thrown Hisui into chaos— that was assuming the Space‑Time Trio's power had not yet fully reached the world.

If those Divine Beasts controlled by villains were truly driven by Trainers into a full‑scale war, it might be before Arceus himself intervenes that this primordial world would head straight for destruction.

Perhaps the current fragmented, chaotic situation is itself being deliberately manipulated by Arceus?

Otherwise, given the temperament of those already at the summit, ambitious villain leaders, this world would never have had a chance to split as it has; it would likely have already sunk into endless melee.

"So then? What do you intend to do?" Huo La looked at him, slowly asked.

Paipa clenched his fist suddenly, his gaze full of resolve, his tone bearing unquestionable determination, "I intend to use Terapagos's power to traverse Time and Space, returning a few years back—back to when they hadn't yet seized control of the world, hadn't had time to carve out a domain, to find them and defeat them completely!"

Huo La quietly watched the light in his eyes, was silent for a moment, let out a soft sigh, reached out and patted his shoulder, his tone carrying a bit of helplessness and a touch of reluctance, "Go wash up and sleep, stop dreaming, Sandwich Master."

"Hm?" Paipa jerked his head up, his face full of astonishment, "You don't support my idea?"

"It's not that I don't support it; it's that your plan is simply fanciful."

Huo La's tone deepened a few notches; he truly couldn't bear to shatter Paipa's obsession outright, but as someone who knows the whole cause and effect and the full truth, he had to awaken him, "First think clearly: do you know how those villain leaders came into this world? And are you clear on what their true purpose is?"

He paused, looking at Paipa's speechless expression, and continued, "Even if you truly could use Terapagos's power to go back, your own strength might not be enough to defeat them. Even taking a step back, even if you luckily succeed, with their power and methods, couldn't they find another way to traverse Time and Space and return to this world again?"

"Don't forget, Team Galactic's Chi Ri wields the power of Dialga in his hand."

Huo La's gaze darkened, recalling the footage he had seen while scrolling news—the god of time beside Chi Ri, he had been very shocked then, but on second thought, he instantly felt at ease.

After all, as Ma Shu Mu had previously said, the true forms of Dialga and Palkia had long been devoured by Arceus himself.

Now what Chi Ri holds in his hand is merely an avatar formed from the world's time energy, so thinking that way, it does make sense.

Hearing the names Chi Ri and Dialga, Paipa's eyes instantly dimmed.

He took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly, the whole person sinking into a prolonged silence.

Seeing this, Huo La gently patted his shoulder again, shifting his tone, "Compared to your idea of traversing Time and Space to change everything, I'm more curious about the 'Paradise' you just mentioned—could you tell me about it?"

Paipa furrowed his brows, looking at Huo La with some confusion. Huo La thought briefly, then continued, "Actually my idea is much like yours; I also want to change this chaotic Pokemon World. But I think taking it step by step might be more realistic… for example, starting with Paldea?" Paipa shivered, his gaze at Huo La mixing disbelief with a hint of cautious probing, "You… you are serious?"
