Chapter 418: Heading to Paldea's Area Zero One Hundred Years Ago
"What else could I be after? Just finishing what I couldn't back then." Spinel said calmly.
Chi Ri's expression suddenly darkened. He raised a hand and lightly patted the Dialga beneath him, saying coldly, "I can grant you this chance, but first, I need to weigh your strength."
"Straightforward and crude." Spinel muttered under his breath, but showed no sign of backing down as he tossed out a Pokeball.
A violet light burst forth, and a snow‑white canine Pokémon emerged, its neck wrapped in emerald‑banded markings, its aura both calm and vast.
In the room, Paipa was leaning by the window, utterly confused: "What Pokemon is that? Lai Yi, do you recognize it? It looks a bit like a Houndoom, but the differences are huge—could it be a regional form from somewhere?"
"It's not a Houndoom." Huo La stared intently at the figure outside the window, his voice full of shock, "That's Zygarde, the Z God."
His heart churned with stormy waves; he never imagined that Zygarde would end up in Spinel's hands.
But when he caught sight of the Master Ball clutched in Zygarde's claws, Huo La instantly understood.
"Z God?" Paipa's eyes lit up sharply. "Since it's called a god, it must be a Legendary Pokemon, right?"
"That's right." Huo La nodded and explained, "It's the legendary aura Pokemon that governs the ecosystem, formed from countless cells."
"The legendary aura Pokemon that governs the ecosystem..." Paipa caught on instantly, his breath hitching, "Is it on the same level as Xerneas and Yveltal?"
Huo La silently nodded.
Ever since the Rainbow Rocket Team appeared, the existence of Legendary Pokémon across the regions was no longer a secret; instead, it had become important material for open research.
Outside the window, Dialga faced off against Zygarde, a battle of gods on the verge of erupting.
Paipa instantly grew excited and quickly pulled out his equipment: "Hell yeah, a god-tier showdown! I've got to record this fight properly!"
The fierce battle everyone had imagined never broke out as expected.
A thick Time Aura rippled around Dialga, while Zygarde released a vast Ecosystem Aura. The two auras clashed violently, and the pressure in the air was almost suffocating.
But this standoff lasted only a moment before Chi Ri spoke first.
"After all, we're in midair with limited space—not suitable for a big fight." He paused, his gaze sweeping over Spinel, his tone softening slightly, "But for Zygarde's sake, I acknowledge your strength."
"As you said, the deal is on. Follow me."
As soon as he finished speaking, Chi Ri raised a hand and patted the Dialga beneath him.
Dialga let out a low dragon roar, flapped its wings, turned around, and slowly flew back the way it came, not fast—clearly waiting for Spinel to follow.
Seeing this, Spinel raised a hand and recalled Zygarde, then turned his head, his gaze landing precisely on the window of Huo La's room. The corner of his mouth twitched slightly, carrying an unreadable meaning.
Then, he gave a stern order to the crew beside him: "Follow him—don't fall behind!"
The airship arrived in the Shen'ao Region and stopped over Jubilife City.
Huo La leaned by the window, looking down at the orderly high-rise buildings below, his eyes filled with deep longing.
He clearly remembered that the current Jubilife City had gradually developed from the old Jubilife Village back then. Every blade of grass and every tree stirred memories of his past.
According to his memory, the Galactic Team's headquarters should be at the Galactic Veilstone Building in Veilstone City. He couldn't figure out why Chi Ri had brought them to Jubilife City.
Just as Huo La was pondering this, a knock came at the door.
He opened it to find an Explorer Team member standing at the entrance, holding two identical uniforms.
"Lai Yi, Paipa, these are the uniforms Lord Si sent for you. Change into them and follow him out later." The member said respectfully.
Huo La picked up one of the uniforms and looked it over, unable to resist complaining: "This sense of style is way too ordinary—really not great."
Complaints aside, he knew he couldn't defy Spinel's orders.
Huo La and Paipa quickly changed into the uniforms, then followed the member out of the room, quietly blending into Spinel's personal squad.
The group disembarked from the airship. Huo La looked up and saw an ancient building before him—the old site of the Galactic Team. Its familiar yet unfamiliar appearance stirred a strange feeling in his heart.
This building had stood for over a thousand years. Though it looked a bit worn, with traces of age on its walls, it was still fairly well preserved overall.
Huo La knew in his heart that the Galactic Team must have been diligently maintaining this place for over a millennium to keep it intact.
Following the Galactic Team member leading the way, they went deeper into the ancient building.
After passing through the entire structure, they reached an open clearing behind it, with no cover, sunlight pouring straight onto the ground.
Chi Ri was already waiting for them in the open space, his aura still formidable.
Seeing Spinel approach with his squad, Chi Ri frowned, his tone full of impatience: "So slow, dragging your feet."
"Heh." Spinel gave a hollow smile, the corner of his mouth twitching, his eyes instantly turning gloomy. Clearly, Chi Ri's attitude had annoyed him, but he didn't waste more words.
Chi Ri couldn't be bothered to argue either, cutting straight to the point: "Don't waste time. Let's begin. Tell me clearly—which era and which place do you want to go to?"
Spinel raised a hand and tapped his temple, looking thoughtful. After a few seconds, he spoke slowly, his tone calm but brooking no argument: "Paldea's Area Zero, one hundred years ago."
Hearing "one hundred years ago" and "Paldea's Area Zero," Chi Ri's eyes instantly turned serious. He gave Spinel a deep look, his tone carrying a hint of amusement: "Area Zero a hundred years ago... interesting. You're planning to catch that legendary Pokemon, aren't you?"
Spinel didn't respond, just stared coldly at him, unwilling to reveal a single word more.
Chi Ri didn't press further. He picked up two Pokeballs, one in each hand, and with a slight movement of his fingers, intertwined Space-Time Power instantly wrapped around both Pokeballs. The light grew brighter and brighter, and in the blink of an eye, a Space-Time Gate radiating a mysterious glow steadily appeared in the center of the open space.
