Chapter 436: A Great Chance to Get Rich!

~6 min read 1,024 words

Huo La was pondering when he suddenly caught a glimpse of a faint candle‑like light in the pitch‑black night, slowly rising from the shadows and gently flickering.

In the pale moonlight, a careful look revealed that the wavering figure was Marshadow.

It held a backpack in each hand, and inside each backpack were neatly packed the Pokeballs that Huo La and his group had previously left at Red.

Huo La, seeing this, quickly waved his hand lightly and greeted it with a smile.

Marshadow merely gave him a brief glance, casually set the two Pokeball‑filled backpacks on the ground, then swayed its body and slipped silently into Xiao Gang's Shadow, disappearing from sight.

Watching the scene, Huo La couldn't help feeling a touch of emotion.

Marshadow had been following Xiao Gang all along, single‑mindedly intent on finding Ho‑Oh, a persistence that never changed.

As for himself, he constantly kept one thing on his mind—Gengar's whereabouts.

Yesterday he even asked Xiao Gang specifically, but Xiao Gang could only shake his head helplessly and say he hadn't seen any trace of Gengar.

Back then, it was Gengar who rescued Xiao Gang from the Rocket Team Headquarters, but ever since, it vanished as if evaporated from the world; no matter how hard they searched, no clue was found, and Xiao Gang has been inquiring everywhere for years without any result.

Huo La gently shook his head, brushing aside the tangled thoughts—what mattered now was to push the plan forward without distraction.

He picked up the backpack beside him, slung it over his shoulder, turned to Bilan and said, "Let's go, Bilan, you lead the way, and we'll move quickly."

Bilan stared at the three ready to depart, clenched his teeth, suppressed his inner feelings, turned and sprinted back the way he had come; Huo La, Xiao Gang, and Xiaoyin followed closely, and their figures soon vanished into the night.

Meanwhile, at the Rocket Team base on Shamouti Island, chaos had already erupted.

"Damn it! What on earth is this Palkia doing? Is Chi Ri behind this!" Sird looked up at the Palkia in the sky continuously unleashing Spacial Rend, shouting in anger.

"No, it's not Chi Ri," Gilbert said, his tone completely calm, showing no hint of panic.

Fu Lindo flicked his blue curls, turned toward Gilbert, and with a puzzled look asked, "How do you know it's not him?"

Gilbert gave a casual smile, shrugged, and nonchalantly said, "I approached Chi Ri before, trying to buy his Palkia and Dialga for my collection, but he turned me down."

Ma Zhishi stood nearby, speechless in his mind—"You're really bold, daring to ask Chi Ri for the Time‑Space Dual Gods collection; that's practically courting death!"

Gilbert, ignoring the others' thoughts, continued, "That said, this Palkia and the Trainer on its back are clearly coming at us, though we don't know which side they belong to."

As soon as he finished speaking, everyone present furrowed their brows.

At that moment, Dr. Zager suddenly seemed to recall something and hurriedly reminded, "We've been attacked like this; is anyone going to check on Huo La and the other two?"

The words caused everyone to pause, and immediately Fu Lindo's expression changed.

He instantly looked at Ma Zhishi and ordered, "Ma Zhishi, Sird, you two go check the cell; you must keep an eye on Huo La and the others and make sure they don't escape!"

Ma Zhishi didn't dare to delay, turned and sprinted toward the cell; Sird, though unwilling and muttering complaints, could only follow behind him, running together.

Watching Ma Zhishi and Sird's hurried silhouettes fade, Gilbert turned to Fu Lindo and, with a hint of doubt, asked, "Lord Fu Lindo, aren't you going to check yourself?"

Fu Lindo gently shook his head, his tone calm yet unwavering: "Me? I have even more important matters to attend to."

As he spoke, his gaze drifted to the perpetually shut door beside him—on either side of the door stood two masked youths, tall and alert, their eyes watching the surroundings warily.

Elsewhere, at the landing port of Shamouti Island's ships.

Musashi, Kojiro, and Meow Meow staggered out of the thick smoke churned by the explosion.

Musashi, spitting out ash, glared at Meow Meow with seething anger: "Ugh! Meow Meow, what on earth are you doing?"

Meow Meow's fur was blackened all over, with several bald patches, and he plaintively defended himself: "Meow! This isn't my fault! I'd just stabilized the diving gear, and then the island erupted in successive explosions, startling me so I jerked my hand and hit the self‑destruct button."

Kojiro slumped on the ground, weakly sighing, "I'm telling you, Meow Meow, why would you add a self‑destruct feature to a perfectly fine diving device? It's completely unnecessary."

"I can't figure out what Dr. Seg is thinking either, Meow," he said, and as soon as the words left his mouth, Meow Meow sprang up from the ground, brushed his messy hair, eyes brightening: "Look, it's Palkia! Looks like Chi Ri sent troops to attack Shamouti Island; this is a golden opportunity for us!"

Kojiro, hearing that, quickly sat up, curiosity on his face: "What kind of opportunity?"

Musashi's eyes lit up, voice soaring, "Of course it's a great chance to get rich!!!"

Meow Meow leapt up, swiping his claw with a "Smack!" that landed on Musashi's and Kojiro's heads, then barked irritably, "You idiots! Have you forgotten why we came here? This chaotic mess is clearly the best chance to find Huo La and the others!"

After the shout, it craned its neck and added, "As for getting rich… that's just a side benefit; the main goal is to find Huo La!"

Finishing, it hurriedly pointed toward the island's interior, urging, "Stop dawdling! While the island's in chaos, the Rocket Team can't pay attention here; let's move in quickly!"

Musashi, holding his sore head, though a bit indignant, sprang up, "Got it, got it! No need to rush!"

Kojiro also rubbed his head and followed; the three brushed dust from themselves, using the thick smoke and chaos as cover, crouched low, and slipped toward the interior of Shamouti Island.
