Chapter 533: Silvally

~7 min read 1,305 words

Professor Oak's concerns were crystal clear to every high-ranking member of the League present.

No matter how many conventional troops were amassed, they would ultimately be nothing but bubbles in the face of a clash between Divine‑Beast‑level and legendary‑level combat power. Once the top‑tier combat power collapsed, no number of lower‑level allied soldiers could fill the gap in the battle—they would only increase casualties.

The entire room fell silent for a moment. Spinel slowly spoke, calmly taking on the question.

"Chairman Rose and I weighed this repeatedly from the very beginning of our plan. We've long since prepared a countermeasure."

He swept his gaze across the crowd, laying out all his cards openly, holding nothing back.

"You all know my background well. I hold the four great calamity Pokémon of Paldea—Jian, Jian, Ding, and Yu."

"Beyond that, the paradoxical twin dragons Koraidon and Miraidon are also in my hands, along with Ogidogi and its group of companions."

"I will personally hold Lysandre back. He won't set foot on the main battlefield at all."

As his words fell, Rose on the large screen took over the conversation at the right moment, his steady voice filling the entire meeting room.

"The twin gods of Galar, Zacian and Zamazenta, left after the Eternatus incident and returned to the Wei Ji Forest. I won't deny that."

"But I also hold enough legendary combat power in my hands."

"The three gods of Galar—Calyrex, Glastrier, and Spectrier—are under my control."

"Beyond that, Master Mustard has agreed to join the battle. Two top-tier MartialBearMasters will also join the allied camp."

As this string of legendary-level combat forces was laid out one after another, the oppressive atmosphere in the meeting room instantly relaxed.

The expressions of those present shifted in succession, their previously furrowed brows smoothing out. Such an accumulation of top-tier combat power was already a terrifying force capable of crushing the entire Heizhu Region.

Dande pondered for two seconds, then finally nodded slowly, making the final call: "With this kind of top‑tier combat power, it's indeed enough to counter the trump cards of the two leaders of Heizhu. The risk is controllable. I have no objections."

Now that even the Alliance Leader had relented, the remaining high-ranking members, Doctors, and elders exchanged glances, and no one raised any further opposition.

Professor Oak's expression was solemn as he spoke to finalize the last matters: "Since the combat power is sufficient and the plan is sound, when do we officially begin the battle?"

"Three days from now." Spinel answered without hesitation, his tone crisp. "Better early than late. We won't give Ghetsis and Lysandre any time—catch them off guard."

The League members exchanged glances, reaching a unified consensus in an instant.

"Agreed. Three days from now, all League combat personnel and main combat forces will assemble at the border of the Heizhu Region, ready to enter the battle at any time."

"Good."

Spinel nodded firmly, then looked at Dande: "Dan Di Alliance Leader, in this battle, all my people will follow your command and deployment."

On the screen, Rose also spoke up, his attitude open: "All combat forces under my command will also follow the League's unified dispatch."

Spinel and Rose handed over command authority simultaneously, and the allied army system was fully formed.

A massive battle aimed at Heizhu was set for just three days later.

In the Kalos region, a deep, secluded jungle with dense vegetation and few human traces.

Deep within the thicket, Red and Ash lay silently on the thick grass, holding their breath, motionless.

Their gazes were locked on the clearing not far away, fixed on Gladio and the mysterious Pokémon beside him, which wore a special mask.

The scorching sun filtered through layers of leaves, casting dappled light, but it only made the tense atmosphere in the forest even more pronounced.

"Chi Hong Ge, why do we have to keep staring at Gladio anyway?" Ash muttered quietly from his prone position, looking bored and confused.

The Pikachu beside him also twitched its ears and let out a couple of soft cries: "Pika pika!"

Red's gaze remained locked on the two figures confronting each other ahead, without any slack. He shook his head slightly and replied in a low voice, "I don't know the exact reason either. Huo La arranged it—told us to come observe Gladio and this special Type: Null."

"But what's there to observe about Gladio?" Ash pouted, looking confident. "He's strong, sure, but if it really came to a fight, he's still not as good as me."

Red didn't respond much, just gave a faint "Mm."

Just as the two were whispering, the battle in the clearing erupted again.

Across from Gladio, the guardian deity of Melemele Island, Tapu Koko, had its electric light surging wildly. Golden Wild Charge wrapped around its body, accompanied by harsh crackling electric current, as it suddenly shot forward, charging at Type: Null with fierce, swift momentum.

"Type: Null, dodge!"

Gladio's expression was calm, his voice steady and forceful as he issued the command instantly.

The Type: Null, wearing its standard-issue mask, was extremely agile. It twisted its body slightly, sidestepping precisely, narrowly dodging Tapu Koko's high-voltage Electric Shock.

The howling current grazed past its body, blasting the ground's turf black and torn.

While dodging, Type: Null had already finished charging. A tri-element energy orb of Electric, Fire, and Ice burst from its mouth, the triple attack wrapped in multicolored light, blasting straight at Tapu Koko!

Extremely fast, with a tricky angle, leaving no room for the opponent to react.

Boom!

The tri-colored energy slammed into Tapu Koko's body, and the violent energy explosion instantly swept across half the clearing, kicking up a cloud of dust.

Before the dust could settle, Gladio's command rang out again, his tone resolute: "Press the attack—Destruction Beam!"

The Type: Null, which had been poised to strike, suddenly stopped all movement, completely ignoring Gladio's command.

It lifted its head slightly, letting out a clear, piercing roar toward the dense canopy above. The cry echoed through the forest, startling countless birds into flight.

Crack—

A crisp sound of breaking rang out.

The standard-issue mask that had been tightly binding its face cracked, fell off, and slid down its smooth neck to the ground.

The moment the mask fell, a clean, sharp, and deeply divine face was fully revealed. Its body color was pure, its lines stretched and relaxed, and its previously constrained form was completely freed.

Layers of faint light burst from its body, and the glow of evolution spread slowly, gentle yet full of tension, completely shedding Type: Null's former dullness and oppression.

Gladio's pupils lit up, and an unmistakable surge of joy flooded his face. He shouted excitedly, "Great! You finally evolved—Silvally!"

The fully evolved Silvally landed lightly, its aura steady. The sense of being sealed and suppressed was gone from its body, and its power spread out slowly.

Without a moment's hesitation, Gladio pulled a special Steel-type disc from his pocket, raised his hand, and threw it forcefully into the air.

The type disc spun rapidly in the air, turning into a silver light that precisely merged into Silvally's body.

With a soft hum, Silvally's body was covered in a layer of sharp metallic luster, its entire form instantly shifting to pure Steel‑type, its power and tactile feel surging noticeably.

Seizing the brief moment when Tapu Koko was distracted by the evolution glow, Gladio's eyes sharpened, and he decisively issued a command for a strong attack.

"Silvally, Flash Cannon!"

The silver companion battle beast, now imbued with a brand‑new attribute, opens its mouth and gathers a dazzling, blinding sphere of energy; a massive amount of Steel‑type energy wildly converges and compresses, and the next instant a thick, fierce column of silver light cannon erupts, tearing the air as it hurtles straight at Tapu·Mingming!
