Chapter 79: Sailing Carefully Guides the Millennium Ship

~6 min read 1,147 words

"Dammit!!!"

Huo La stared at the system interface that suddenly popped up before his eyes, and couldn't help cursing in his mind.

The system is usually as dead as a doornail, yet it appears at this critical juncture, immediately presenting a life‑or‑death binary choice—clearly putting him on the grill without any room for a buffer.

Publish Mission:

Mission Type: Choice Mission

Mission Content: Choose to Assist Bilan or to Inform the Rocket Team

Mission Objective: If you choose to assist Bilan in seizing the Pokemon Egg, the mission automatically switches to "Assist Bilan (II)"; if you choose to inform the Rocket Team, there is a chance to complete "Join Rocket Team (Part 1)"

Mission Selection Time: 5 minutes

Mission Time Limit: 2 hours

Mission Reward: Recalculated according to the mission choice

Taking a deep breath, Huo La's gaze scanned the "Assist" and "Inform" options three times.

Informing the Rocket Team is indeed a "shortcut," allowing the main quest "Join Rocket Team" to progress, but the words "has a chance" feel like a thorn.

More importantly, deep down he despises the Rocket Team's practice of modifying Pokemon; those unhatched eggs contain living beings that must never become "materials" on an experimental table.

Without any hesitation, Huo La's intention settled on "Assist Bilan."

Almost the moment he confirmed, the interface refreshed immediately:

Publish Mission:

Mission Type: Continuous Task

Mission Content: Assist Bilan (II)

Mission Objective: Rob the Pokemon Egg that the Rocket Team purchased from the black market together with Bilan

Mission Time Limit: 2 hours

Mission Reward: Silver Feather

"Dammit!!!"

Huo La's heart jolted, this time a genuine shock.

The mission reward turned out to be a 'Silver Feather.' That's the key item that can summon the legendary Pokémon Lugia, on par with the 'Rainbow Feather' used to call Ho‑Oh, a treasure that countless Trainers may never encounter even after a lifetime of pursuit.

Now, not only does he detest the modification experiments, but even without a system mission, he must wade through this murky water!

Suppressing the turmoil inside, Huo La lifted his eyes to Bilan; the detachment in his gaze had long vanished, replaced by pure seriousness: "How do you plan to rob it?" He paused, then added, "The Storage Room is at the lower deck's stern, guarded by at least four rotating sentries; you alone can't get in."

Seeing his sudden change of attitude, Bilan's eyes lit up like two stars, and he leaned in, his voice low and excited: "Who told you the item is in the Storage Room? That's a decoy the Rocket Team set up!"

"Hm?" Huo La raised an eyebrow—Bilan's intel seems sharper than Miao Miao's, a pleasant surprise.

"I've already scoped the spot!" Bilan stretched out, drawing a simple cruise‑ship layout on the table, his fingertip pointing to the Second Floor, "The real Pokemon Egg is in the Captain's Cabin, guarded personally by Chen Ji."

"When the banquet kicks off at eight p. m., the ship's guards will be dispatched to the Banquet Hall to 'maintain order'—actually to help snatch Trainers' Pokemon. At that moment, only the Captain and Chen Ji will remain in the Captain's Cabin, and that's our chance!"

"Chen Si?" Huo La's pupils narrowed slightly, "You mean the Nine Great Captains in charge of this ship is Chen Si?"

"Yes, that's him!" Bilan nodded, blinking curiously, "What, have you met him?"

"Never met him, but I've heard of him." Huo La shook his head, a flood of information about Chen Si flashing through his mind.

He is the Rocket Team's Nine Great Captains specialist in "Transport and Smuggling," most adept at using Flying-type Pokémon in battle; it's said his Loudred can shred a regular Trainer's main lineup in three moves, acting ruthlessly and never leaving a survivor.

"His main forces are all Flying-type Pokémon; his strength isn't weak," Huo La reminded.

"Don't worry!" Bilan patted his chest, confidence evident, "I'm not going alone this time. I've brought my core combat power, and we'll launch a surprise attack, catching him off guard—definitely a fight we can win!"

Huo La stared at her resolute expression, not replying immediately.

Chen Si's power far exceeds that of the Rocket Team's four brothers, let alone any hidden traps in the Captain's Cabin. But the arrow is already on the string; whether the system task's two‑hour limit or his eight‑o'clock window is only fifteen minutes away, there's no room for hesitation.

"The banquet officially starts at eight," Huo La raised his hand, glanced at his wristwatch, and planned quickly, "I need to get ready; at 7:55 we'll meet at the Second Floor stairwell."

"No problem!" After confirming cooperation with Huo La, Bilan answered in one breath, stood up, and left the room.

At exactly eight, Huo La perched at the Second Floor stairwell, clutching his watch, fingertips slightly pale, shaking his head repeatedly; a soft sigh echoed clearly in the hallway's silence.

Suddenly, a hand lightly patted his shoulder. Huo La spun around, and indeed it was Bilan.

"You're late." His tone was as cold as a layer of ice.

"Being late is a girl's little privilege, and it's only a few minutes anyway." Bilan swayed, her voice full of mischief.

Huo La stopped dwelling on the lateness and asked directly, "What's your plan?"

"The plan…," Bilan smiled, pulling a Pokeball from behind, her fingertip giving it a light spin, "Of course we'll use this."

A question flickered in Huo La's eyes.

Bilan pressed the Pokeball's button; a flash of red light burst, and a pink, plump Pipi landed on the ground, softly calling, "Pipi~"

"Pipi?" Huo La scanned the pink figure, his pupils suddenly brightened! He understood.

Singing, hypnosis. That's Jigglypuff's specialty; as a close relative of the same type, Pipi naturally can do it too.

"My Pipi can sing a lullaby, go ahead." Bilan finished speaking, then pulled out a pair of earplugs, handing them to Huo La, first slipping hers in deftly.

In the system panel, Pipi's singing skill showed a dazzling 89% proficiency.

Pipi nudged her palm, hopped to the Captain's Cabin door, and a crisp "song" drifted out immediately.

Ten minutes later, Pipi returned, tail wagging.

Bilan gave Huo La a glance, stood up, and headed toward the Captain's Cabin.

Huo La, however, grabbed her, shook his head gently, then pulled another Pokeball from his waist. A red flash, and a Bulbasaur landed steadily.

"Bulbasaur, open the door first, then spread Sleep Powder." he whispered.

Bulbasaur obeyed, its two Vine Whips deftly hooking the door handle, gently pushing the Captain's Cabin door open, slipping inside silently.

Bilan raised an eyebrow, smiling at Huo La, "I didn't see it coming, you're so cautious."

Huo La replied calmly, "Careful sailing makes the millennium ship."

After a moment, the head of a Bulbasaur poked out through the crack of the Captain's Cabin door; it shook its leaves, indicating that inside was safe.
