Chapter 52

After Su Hao's battle ended, the next match was Kong Lingwei's.

The unique, off-the-charts abilities of Psychic-type Pokémon allowed her to win without much effort.

The Final Four of this Grade 3 competition were swept by Su Hao's trio and Kong Lingwei.

After the Final Four were decided, the semifinal bracket was quickly distributed by the computer.

Su Hao vs. Li Hua, Jiang Chengcheng vs. Kong Lingwei.

Jiang Chengcheng was unlucky to run into Kong Lingwei, who had a type advantage over her. It would have been fine if Pancham had evolved; the Dark-type Pangoro would have had a way to deal with Psychic-type Pokémon.

The first match was Su Hao vs. Li Hua. Facing Li Hua's Rookidee and Wingull flying in the sky, Su Hao sent out Torracat to use fire for continuous firepower coverage.

There is a saying that makes a lot of sense: I can fail countless times, but you can only fail once.

Facing Torracat's firepower coverage, which seemed to use energy without limit, Rookidee and Wingull were eventually exhausted and defeated.

The match between Jiang Chengcheng and Kong Lingwei was exceptionally intense.

Both sides first sent out Pancham and Solosis.

Pancham and Solosis were similar in strength, but the type disadvantage could not be ignored. After beating Solosis to a near-faint state, Pancham eventually could not hold on and fell.

After the evolved Machoke entered the field, it defeated Solosis with an absolute difference in strength.

The evolved Machoke's strength had improved significantly, reaching the late Ordinary-level.

Pokémon: 【Machoke】

Type: 【Fighting】

Gender: 【♀】

Ability: 【Guts】

Level: 【27】

Moves: 【Leer, Low Sweep, Focus Energy, Revenge, Low Kick, Bullet Punch, Counter, Thunder Punch, Bullet Punch, Mach Punch, Bulk Up】

After Machop evolved into Machoke, its body size, muscle mass, and explosive power all made significant progress.

But facing Xatu, who completely countered her, Machoke still fought very difficultly.

At the start, Jiang Chengcheng commanded Machoke to use Thunder Punch to attack Xatu, hoping to prevent Xatu from taking off.

Kong Lingwei, however, used her psychic powers to assist Xatu in using Confusion to create a barrier. Although the barrier was broken by Machoke's Thunder Punch, Xatu still successfully took off.

Facing the airborne Xatu, Machoke was like a target.

Although the competition rules limited the flying height of flying Pokémon.

Machoke, leaping into the air, had nowhere to borrow force and was always inferior to Xatu, who had Kong Lingwei's psychic assistance, in wrestling.

After the battle stalemated for more than ten minutes, it ended with the scarred Machoke falling.

Jiang Chengcheng, who lost, was not sad. She told Su Hao and Li Hua that from the moment she embarked on the path of specializing in Fighting-types, she had expected to encounter trainers specializing in Psychic-types.

Although she lost now, she believed that sooner or later she would grow to be fearless of type disadvantages, and then she would defeat Kong Lingwei fair and square.

After a while, the final began between Su Hao and Kong Lingwei.

The talk in the stands had turned into a one-sided advantage for Su Hao.

They felt that even if Kong Lingwei could use psychic powers to assist Pokémon in battle, she would still be powerless against the truly Elite-level Carbink.

【Now on the field is Su Hao from Class 1, Grade 3, versus Kong Lingwei from Class 5, Grade 3.】

【The number of Pokémon used is two; you may switch freely. The winner is the one who makes the opponent's two Pokémon lose their ability to battle.】

【Now, please both sides release your Pokémon simultaneously!】
