Chapter 97: The Evolution Ceremony of the Infinite Lake

【How about it, Xiao Mei? If you had been able to unleash even one percent of this power back then, you wouldn't have been taken away by those two people without any resistance.】

Latios, who had just reduced the people to ash, kept a straight face and suddenly began to lecture Feebas.

"Wururu..."

【Indeed, if I had been more motivated, I wouldn't have been so powerless back then.】

Feebas lowered her head and admitted it directly.

【Oh?】

Latios was somewhat surprised. In the past, whenever Feebas faced his preaching, it would go in one ear and out the other; she would just continue being a "salted fish" as usual afterward.

She wouldn't listen to advice at all.

Both he and Latias had once felt that if Feebas didn't want to evolve, then so be it; with the two of them around, she would never be wronged.

But this incident had dealt them a heavy blow. What if, one day, neither of them was by Xiao Mei's side? Who would protect her then?

Latios made up his mind: this time, he must make Feebas complete her evolution to strengthen her ability to protect herself.

"Wururu."

【Brother, I want to evolve. I want to become stronger.】

Feebas had already made up her mind a week ago. This week of training had not extinguished her desire to become stronger; instead, it had made that desire even more intense.

She wanted to evolve, and then become stronger.

【Even if you are still unwilling this time, we won't spoil you anymore. You must... Huh?】

Latios and Feebas spoke almost at the same time, but Latios's lecture stopped abruptly halfway through.

【You said you want to evolve, to become stronger?】

A Mythical Pokémon's memory is naturally superb; even if his attention hadn't been on this just now, he could perfectly recall what Feebas had said.

"Wururu!"

【Brother, I want to become stronger!】

【Good.】

Night, 【Infinite Secret Realm】

The secret realm governed by Latios and Latias, where a large number of Dragon-type and Psychic-type Pokémon live.

Because this secret realm has always been under their control, there are no footprints of humans.

This secret realm has maintained its original appearance since its existence, never changing.

In the center of the Infinite Secret Realm is a huge lake, formed by the convergence of two medium-sized lakes.

The overall shape of the lake is like an "∞" symbol, and there are two islands in the center of the two medium-sized lakes.

The left side is Latios's resting place, and the right side is Latias's resting place.

This lake is called the Infinite Lake.

Thanks to Carbink's extremely high talent for light-based moves, it only took one day to learn the method of using Purify from Latias.

Next, it only needs diligent practice to successfully master the exclusive move of the Latios and Latias family.

Tonight, Latios and Latias are going to hold an evolution ceremony for Feebas, while Su Hao, Carbink, and Incineroar are watching as spectators on the left island.

The brilliant golden radiance of the full moon sprinkled onto the Infinite Lake, and the entire surface of the lake seemed to be dyed into a golden ocean.

Leaving aside the question of where this moon came from, most of the Pokémon in the secret realm gathered together spontaneously to watch the ceremony.

Feebas was currently in the center of the Infinite Lake, with Latios, Latias, and the Soul Dew floating quietly above her.

Before entering the secret realm, Su Hao had asked Latios.

He happened to have a high-quality Prism Scale on hand that he could give to Feebas to use.

And Latios's answer was that with them and the Soul Dew present, even without the Prism Scale, Feebas could evolve even more perfectly.

"Kau————"

"Kau————"

This was the first time Su Hao had heard Latios and Latias make a sound since he met them; usually, they communicated via telepathy.

Latios and Latias circled the purified Soul Dew slowly, and they emitted blue telekinetic power that felt almost tangible, frantically pouring it into the Soul Dew.

The telekinetic power completely lit up the dormant Soul Dew, and the deep blue Soul Dew instantly emitted red and blue light, enveloping Feebas in the center of the Infinite Lake from top to bottom.

Feebas's pitted, earthy-yellow body was gradually surrounded by light, turning into a red and blue cocoon of light.

"Ka-ao..."

Incineroar has a loud voice, but the volume he was emitting now was approximately zero.

Because he knew that evolution is the most important process one must undergo for self-transformation, and having evolved twice himself, he held a sense of awe toward evolution.

"Na-na..."

【I also want such a grand evolution...】

Carbink looked on with longing; there is no girl who doesn't hope to have such a beautiful and magnificent evolution ceremony.

"Kauuu————!"

"Kauuu————!"

Following a high-pitched cry from Latios and Latias, the countless Psychic and Dragon-type Pokémon watching the ceremony released massive amounts of energy, turning into countless ribbons of light that flowed into the Soul Dew.

Having gained more energy, the output of the Soul Dew rose to another level.

Red and blue ribbons of light surged frantically into the cocoon of light that Feebas had become.

As the cocoon of light shone with an even more blinding radiance, Su Hao, who had plenty of experience with being blinded by light, calmly took out the sunglasses he had prepared from his pocket and put them on.

The radiance continued to pour into the cocoon until a critical point was reached, and a clear cracking sound echoed throughout the entire Infinite Secret Realm.

"Crack!"

One, two, countless cracks appeared on the cocoon of light, until the cocoon finally shattered, and the figure inside gradually became clear.

It was a Pokémon that, at first glance, made one think of nothing but beauty; it was breathtakingly beautiful.

This Pokémon just floated quietly in the air, as eye-catching as a collection of the very concept of beauty.
