Chapter 216: I've Become a Class-One Protected Animal

The next day, he continued working with Kong Daxian and the others on the divine beast materials, and after half a month of effort, they finally finished.

Two days after completion, someone from the capital arrived — and it was a Major General.

"Comrade Bai Jing, my name is Long Yangyun, and I've come on behalf of the nation!"

"Hello, Major General Long, please have a seat, Major General Long!"

Bai Jing was extremely warm, because this person had come to deliver rewards to him.

At the same time, he was curious — both were Major Generals, yet Zhao Long was over thirty, nearly forty, while this one looked at most thirty. The gap was a bit big.

Most importantly, this guy was so handsome — only a tiny bit worse-looking than himself.

"First of all, thank you for everything you've done for the nation, and thank you for your selfless willingness to contribute the precious divine beast materials. This will play an enormous role in the nation's development!"

"You're too kind, you're too kind — this is all just what I should do!"

"Lastly, I personally am extremely grateful that you saved that batch of elites who had gone to the Beautiful Country. Among them were some of my subordinates, some were my close friends — all my brothers in life and death. Thank you very much!"

Long Yangyun finished by snapping off a military salute, forcing Bai Jing to return one.

"You're too kind, far too kind!"

This guy is so long-winded — is he going to give the reward or not?

"In view of your outstanding contributions and meritorious service, after deliberation by several leaders, it has been decided to bestow upon you the following commendations."

Here it comes, here it comes!

"First, you will be awarded a Second-Class Medal of Honor."

Bai Jing was somewhat surprised — they really were giving a medal, and not just any — a Second-Class Honor at that.

Earlier he had only been joking around with Kong Daxian; anyone who could receive a medal must have made tremendous contributions to the nation and its people.

"This... I don't quite deserve it!"

Long Yangyun explained: "The divine beast materials you contributed are vital to the nation's long-term development. As they continue to play their role in the future, your contributions will only grow greater!"

In other words, from now on, his meritorious service would continue to accumulate.
