Chapter 587

Strength: Beginner (Early Stage)

Growlithe's potential is truly outstanding — worthy of a Pokémon whose base stats can be compared to those of a third-tier legendary.

He'd been worrying about not having a land mount, and now two choices had appeared at once; whether it was the evolved Blitzle-turned-Zebstrika or the evolved Arcanine, both were among the very best.

Which one to pick?

In terms of potential, naturally Growlithe was the more outstanding one, but he already had a Fire-type in Charizard.

Actually, Zebstrika wasn't bad either — in looks it was no inferior to Arcanine, and when it ran the thunder rumbling alongside it was quite imposing, plus he didn't yet have an Electric-type Pokémon.

So Bai Jing decided — he'd choose… Growlithe!

Outstanding potential, high base stats, and it even has the move Extreme Speed — only a fool wouldn't pick it.

Mm, once he got back this time he'd send Charizard off for advanced training; for the foreseeable future Growlithe would be his Fire-type mainstay.

Holding Growlithe's Egg, Bai Jing walked out, and Gu Sansi immediately came over.

"How did it go? Which Pokémon did you pick?"

"Growlithe!"

"Growlithe, huh? I remember its father was only at the quasi-Elite Four level, so its potential is probably going to be a bit lacking!"

Here he goes again. "Are you really not going to think it over? I'm really not lying to you, I really have inside information…"

"No need, I'm choosing it!"

"How can you be so ungrateful? You're really infuriating me to death!"

Bai Jing was speechless — none of your damn business, really a case of the emperor not worrying while the eunuch worries himself to death.

After bidding farewell to the well-meaning Gu Sansi, he met up with Deng Xin outside the tower.

"How did it go? Did you clear it?"

"With my strength, do you even need to ask?"

"Amazing! What about the prizes?"

Bai Jing showed her the three items.

"How wonderful! Give me the King's Rock!"

"Why? Don't you already have a Politoed?"

Speaking of which, the reason Deng Xin's Poliwag could evolve into Politoed was because Bai Jing had given her the King's Rock.

"I'm planning to get another Slowking!"

"Fine, here, take it!"

Anyway, this thing only had that one use; keeping it himself was useless!.
