Chapter 104: The Plan to Find Honey
The first Pokémon treated by Hua Liao Huan Huan were Wooper and Carvanha; Luo Mu had already tended to their battle injuries, so Hua Liao Huan Huan found the healing effortless.
Hua Liao Huan Huan gave a slight shake of its body, and pink halos immediately rained down from the flowers clinging to its vines—this was its signature healing move, “Floral Heal,” said to derive its potency from the flowers attached to its vines.
After roughly ten seconds, under Floral Heal’s effect, Wooper’s arm, bitten by Carvanha, returned to perfect condition, and Carvanha’s stamina, damaged by Wooper’s Water Pulse, was fully restored.
After urging them to politely thank Hua Liao Huan Huan, Luo Mu noticed Dogge and Wooper Kedou peering from the doorway—he knew his little ones had come to see their leader. He sent them off to play, then turned to the quiet Meowth sitting in the corner of the room.
Hua Liao Huan Huan lay curled atop Luo Mu’s head, making him look as if he wore a floral wreath.
Hua Liao Huan Huan glanced at Meowth, momentarily tempted to offer its wreath—but then it seemed to remember something, and reluctantly sank back down, its face strained with restraint.
Luo Mu felt all of this.
Though Hua Liao Huan Huan loved sharing its floral wreaths, Luo Mu’s farm had no beautiful flowers planted yet; giving away the wreath would leave it with no blooms to harvest, and foraging in the wild wasn’t sustainable.
Quietly adding flowerbed planting to his list alongside fence construction, Luo Mu signaled, and Meowth slowly climbed onto the small bed, lying down obediently, its black, glossy eyes fixed silently as it waited for Luo Mu and Hua Liao Huan Huan to finish their exchange.
Moments later, Luo Mu placed his hand on Meowth’s head, guiding it to slowly close its eyes, and whispered, “Close your eyes, relax your body, and try to recall the feeling of flying through the sky. Don’t force it—if you feel uncomfortable, stop the memory, alright?”
Meowth obediently began recalling the boundless sensation of flight; as its body relaxed and the feeling returned, the fear from that thunderstorm night surged back like a persistent poison.
The ever-present fear stiffened Meowth’s body with tension; its previously calm face twisted into pain.
“The fear is etched deeper into its mind than I imagined,” Luo Mu frowned, nodding to Hua Liao Huan Huan. “I’ll need you to use Aromatic Healing.”
Seeing Meowth’s agony, Hua Liao Huan Huan’s expression softened with pity. It nodded solemnly, then floated gently above Meowth, closed its eyes, and released a soothing floral fragrance that spread outward from its body, filling the entire room within moments.
Luo Mu’s nostrils flared as he breathed in the scent—clearing his mind, easing his fatigue—and inwardly marveled.
In the game, “Aromatic Healing” cures all status conditions of allied Pokémon with its soothing aroma—could psychological trauma count as a status condition?
Game status conditions were limited to poison, burn, freeze, paralysis, sleep—but in reality, this move’s potential seemed far greater.
Looking at Meowth, its expression of pain had already eased; its furrowed brow had relaxed.
Moments later, after Meowth opened its eyes, Luo Mu checked its condition.
After rigorous testing, he concluded: Aromatic Healing worked well—it had genuinely lessened Meowth’s psychological burden.
Unfortunately, a single session couldn’t cure it entirely; Aromatic Healing merely alleviated symptoms. To eliminate the trauma entirely, he’d need to wait, allow time for recovery, then strike with a stronger remedy.
Thinking of this, Luo Mu pulled out his battle-damaged phone and checked the weather forecast for Big Pot Lake over the coming days.
“No rain tomorrow. No rain the day after. No rain the day after that—wait! There it is!” Luo Mu froze mid-swipe, eyes brightening. “Eighty percent chance of rain at Big Pot Lake in a week, and sixty percent chance it’ll turn into a thunderstorm. That’s the place!”
His excited voice made Meowth and Hua Liao Huan Huan tilt their heads curiously, as if puzzled by his reaction.
Luo Mu knelt patiently and patted the heads of both Pokémon, smiling. “Nothing much. For the next few days, I’ll rely on you, Hua Liao Huan Huan, to keep treating Meowth—and Meowth, please cooperate. In a week, I’ll take you somewhere.”
“Huan huan~” “Got it~”
Hua Liao Huan Huan and Meowth nodded obediently; Luo Mu felt immense relief having such thoughtful Pokémon around.
Hua Liao Huan Huan used Grass Terrain again and healed Carvanha, Wooper, and Meowth; seeing it was tired, Luo Mu brought out the basket he’d already prepared.
The basket held no flowers—only a soft blanket, a little nest Luo Mu had made for Hua Liao Huan Huan, his newest farm member.
Hua Liao Huan Huan happily curled inside, chirping joyfully; Meowth watched enviously but said nothing—it already had its own nest, prepared long ago.
And since Meowth still couldn’t fly, Luo Mu had placed its usual eave-hung nest on the floor instead.
After settling the two Pokémon, Luo Mu pondered: Hua Liao Huan Huan would likely be busy for the coming week—he’d need to provide some nourishment.
As a Fairy-type Pokémon with plant affinities, Hua Liao Huan Huan’s tastes probably didn’t differ much from Bai Pengpeng’s.
That night’s cake made by Cang Yan Ren Gui and the others had left a deep impression; he still had leftover flour, eggs, and other ingredients, and with Xiao Xian Nai’s whipped cream, he could easily make a delicious dessert.
But Luo Mu felt something was missing.
He thought a moment, then remembered spotting a trio of Beedrill near his farm—Beedrill collected and brewed honey of exceptional nutritional value and outstanding flavor.
Why not go out and look for honey?
Instantly, images of honey-based desserts and delicacies flooded his mind; a glistening drool slipped from the corner of his mouth.
He decided on the spot: he’d head into the wild this afternoon. When he’d challenged the Gym in Yuanmo Town, Gym Leader Feng, who ran a dessert shop, had told him how to find Beedrill and honey in the wild!
Luo Mu immediately packed a few useful items, slung his backpack over his shoulder, and prepared to leave.
The moment he opened the door, a familiar, excited voice rang out from outside.
“So amazing! Is this Master Luo Mu’s farm?”
