Chapter 154: The Last Class Before Spring Break
Weight loss is a long and arduous journey.
Luo Mu had analyzed it for the Moltres; the fat it had hoarded was very likely because during this period it had only taken in energy without releasing any, accumulating vast amounts of power that had never been expended.
For Moltres, the only actions that could be considered energy-consuming, aside from that aerial competition, were probably just lighting the sacred fire for the fireplace when the weather was still very cold.
Clearly, these actions were completely insufficient to deplete the massive amount of energy Moltres had hoarded, so battling was still necessary.
Luo Mu's gaze shifted to the rain clouds in the distance that nearly covered half the sky, and beneath them, to the Moltres, which was feeling extremely aggrieved after Luo Mu had restricted its flight altitude.
As a legendary Pokémon, Moltres naturally knew the move Sunny Day; no matter how outstanding Politoed's talent for rain might be, at least at this current stage, Politoed was not qualified to contest the weather against Moltres.
Their energy reserves and levels were simply not on the same tier.
But, Politoed still had teammates!
Under the pouring rain, Moltres, looking wretched as raindrops evaporated around it like a mist, barely dodged a Waterfall attack from the Swampert, so angry it wanted to curse.
Under the premise of continuous attacks from Swampert, it simply could not spare the mental focus to fully contest the weather with Politoed, and that Politoed truly had some skill; its control over the weather clearly showed it had learned from Dragonite and the others, plus its own innate talent was quite good.
Attacked from both front and back, Moltres could only stalemate Politoed in the contest for the weather while also devoting most of its mental focus to handling Swampert's fierce offensive.
If it actually took such a punch, it feared even last night's dinner would be knocked out of it!
Observing their intense battle from afar, Luo Mu turned and left with satisfaction.
Now Politoed could gain experience in contesting the weather against a legendary Pokémon, Moltres, having expended a large amount of energy, could lose weight, and Swampert could stretch its muscles and bones.
It was simply a case of killing three birds with one stone!
Could it be that he truly was a genius?
Humming a little tune, Luo Mu tidied himself up and prepared to head to Orange Academy for class.
At the Orange Academy stadium battle grounds.
With one hand in his pocket, Luo Mu gave a calm order: "Flamethrower."
Growlithe let out a roar; a scorching line of fire sliced across the sky, causing the air along its path to distort slightly, while Ai Li Qi Si's Ti Lei Miao was already at the end of its rope, unable to dodge in time and struck directly by Flamethrower, immediately collapsing to the ground and losing the ability to battle.
"Ti Lei Miao!"
Ai Li Qi Si, filled with worry, quickly stepped forward, scooping up Ti Lei Miao, whose body now bore several burn marks.
"Huan Huan~"
Waiting nearby, the Comfey emitted a sweet cry as it flew over, gently shaking its body; a pink halo rich with vital life energy enveloped the unconscious Ti Lei Miao, while a heart-soothing floral fragrance spread out, rapidly repairing its injuries and abnormal status conditions.
Looking closely, among the vibrant flowers blooming on Comfey's vines, several pale red flowers were surrounded by the most intense halos; these were flowers grown from the antlers of Meng Ya Lu.
It seemed that because these pale red flowers were nurtured by nutrients supplied by Meng Ya Lu, they inherently possessed excellent energy conductivity; with these flowers present, Comfey's healing efficiency and intensity had both received a considerable boost, which was truly miraculous.
In just a minute or two, Ti Lei Miao awakened from its unconscious state, looking guiltily at Ai Li Qi Si and emitting soft whimpers, seemingly depressed over losing the battle.
Ai Li Qi Si smiled and shook his head, saying, "It's alright; although it's a bit frustrating, it's not just the two of us—everyone else has also been consecutively defeated by Teacher Luo Mu's Growlithe. He is truly strong."
Afterwards, Ai Li Qi Si looked toward Comfey, bowing slightly as he said, "Thank you, Teacher Comfey, for treating Ti Lei Miao."
"Huan Huan~"
Comfey laughed and shook its head, then ran off to treat the next Pokémon that had been quickly defeated by Growlithe.
A look of emotion appeared on Ai Li Qi Si's face; whenever he recalled witnessing the immense power displayed by Teacher Luo Mu's Dragonite last time at the Trainer's Beach, his feelings of disappointment would be comforted.
Just thinking that Growlithe was raised by that Teacher Luo Mu greatly reduced his sense of unwillingness.
In the brief gap while Ai Li Qi Si was reminiscing, Hearing Hearing Nimo again brought her fully recovered Cubchoo and Pawmi, her face full of fighting spirit, to challenge Luo Mu to a battle.
Seeing the commotion over there, Ai Li Qi Si pressed his forehead and said, "This is already the fifth time, right? Where does she and her Pokémon get all this energy from? Even with Teacher Comfey's healing, we are completely exhausted after just two battles."
Ti Lei Miao nodded in strong agreement.
One class period ended amidst these battles.
Before dismissing the class, Luo Mu gathered the students together; looking at the massive group below that had expanded from the initial dozen or so people to over thirty, he still felt a unique sense of accomplishment different from the victory of battle.
After indulging in his own emotions for a moment, Luo Mu spoke: "Spring break is coming soon; since everyone has chosen this Battle Studies course, I assume most of you present will take this opportunity during the holiday to go out and challenge Gyms. Regarding this matter, I would like to offer some experiential advice from the perspective of someone who has been there before."
"Although Gym Leaders will dispatch different lineups based on each of your strengths, for your initial challenge targets, I suggest everyone choose the three major Gyms in Cortondo, Artazon, and Levincia."
"The wild Pokémon there are at levels suitable for novice trainers to conquer, allowing for targeted training, and there is even a chance to capture desired partners."
"Conversely, Gyms like those in Glaseado Mountain are not yet suitable for you novice trainers to visit; you must absolutely not put yourselves in dangerous situations. The recommended challenge route officially endorsed by the Paldea League is the optimal route determined after systematic research."
Luo Mu did not want to be like Tang Seng, nagging these students like reciting scriptures, but this was the Pokémon world; young students, when feeling bold, would really run off to high-risk zones like Glaseado Mountain and the Asado Desert, so he had to emphasize this point.
Amidst the students' varying mental states—some listening intently, others secretly plotting other schemes—Luo Mu brought the first semester's course of the new year to a close: "If during spring break you encounter any battle-related problems that you truly cannot figure out, you can call me to ask. Class dismissed!"
In front of the Orange Academy Chairperson's office, Luo Mu knocked on the door with a rhythmic pattern.
Soon, a voice from inside said, "The door is unlocked; please come in."
Luo Mu opened the door; sitting upright inside was none other than Geeta, the undisputed highest authority in the Paldea region, possessing a majestic aura—Chairperson of Orange Academy, Chairwoman of the Paldea League, and Top Champion.
They were old acquaintances, so Luo Mu felt not the slightest restraint; he sat directly on the sofa, looked at Geeta, and teased, "It's rare to see the Chairperson my lord within Orange Academy."
