Chapter 156: Miss Miss Junsha: Living Long Enough to See Anything

~7 min read 1,318 words

After parking the police motorcycle outside the farm, Miss Miss Junsha directly brought her Growlithe to follow Luo Mu on foot into the farm; observing the surroundings, she suddenly spoke up: "What a thriving farm this is, but are you, Mr. Luo Mu, the only one working here?"

Miss Miss Junsha found it hard to imagine that Luo Mu could take such good care of such a large farm all by himself, and her Growlithe also tilted its head, curiously staring at Luo Mu.

"Besides me, there are many Pokémon running the farm," Luo Mu shook his head; upon seeing Miss Miss Junsha's Growlithe, he suddenly remembered he hadn't yet released his own Growlithe, which had tirelessly battled dozens of students' Pokémon in succession, so he quickly added: "Oh right, I also have a Growlithe; perhaps they can become friends."

Saying this, Luo Mu released a Growlithe whose appearance differed from Miss Miss Junsha's in many features.

Apparently due to having just undergone intense battles not long ago, the Growlithe was clearly still excited; the moment it left its Poké Ball and saw Miss Miss Junsha's Growlithe, it immediately pounced over to invite the other to play.

Clearly, this Growlithe was still a natural at making friends.

Miss Miss Junsha covered her mouth, incredulously exclaiming: "It's a Growlithe?"

Luo Mu didn't offer much explanation, merely mentioning: "This is a regional form of Growlithe from another region; it's quite rare."

"A regional form?" Miss Miss Junsha pondered, stroking her chin; under the eager gaze of her own Growlithe, she nodded slightly and said: "Go play with it."

Miss Miss Junsha's Growlithe's eyes lit up slightly; with a happy "Woof!", it ran off into the distance alongside Luo Mu's Growlithe, heading roughly toward the harvested wheat field nearby, most likely to find the Mawile to play.

Under Luo Mu's lead, the two soon arrived near the rain cloud; from here, they were just out of reach of the heavy rain yet could clearly see the true forms of the Pokémon battling over there.

Once she saw the scene clearly, Miss Miss Junsha froze in shock.

What was she seeing?

A great bird, its body engulfed in bright, fierce flames, soared through the sky; raindrops could not touch it, only helplessly evaporating into steam from the intense heat surrounding it, then scattered by the wind pressure generated from the great bird's wingbeats.

Every time the great bird flapped its wings, flames like heavenly fire were not extinguished by the heavy rain; instead, they all poured down upon the mighty, towering figure on the ground below.

The Swampert on the ground, wreathed in flowing water, shattered those flames with every punch—flames that even the heavy rain could not extinguish; occasionally, when a punch missed, the surrounding ground would tremble, accompanied by the appearance of a large crater.

Combined with the thick, dark clouds overhead that seemed capable of crushing a fortress, the entire scene resembled a great battle found only in myths.

Heavenly fire descends upon the world; fists split the earth asunder.

Luo Mu actually called these things "farm Pokémon sparring"?

Miss Miss Junsha stared blankly at that area; she was now completely certain that the large-scale thunderstorm from over a month ago had indeed been caused by this farm's Pokémon.

But was it reasonable for such Pokémon to appear on a farm?

A Trainer possessing such Pokémon wasn't participating in Gym Challenges or the Champion Tournament, yet was here farming instead?

Miss Miss Junsha increasingly failed to understand what was happening to the world these days.

At this moment, Luo Mu walked over, clapped his hands, and shouted: "Stop for now, don't fight anymore!"

His appearance instantly put an end to the battle.

The Politoed, having grown increasingly skilled at controlling rainy weather after contesting the weather with Moltres, immediately dispersed the rain cloud; without its counterbalance, Moltres's Sunny Day finally bloomed in the sky, bringing light and warmth to the surroundings.

Swampert stopped its relentless attacks on Moltres, and Moltres folded its wings and flew down.

Just as Luo Mu had said, they were all farm Pokémon; no matter how loud the commotion, they were merely sparring with each other, so no problems would arise.

Miss Miss Junsha watched this scene in silence, unable to help but wonder what kind of person Luo Mu actually was to possess so many powerful Pokémon.

And that great bird with flames burning even on its wings... earlier, due to the interference of fog and heavy rain, she hadn't seen it clearly and had mistaken it for something common in the Paldea region, like a Talonflame.

But looking closely now, one couldn't say it looked exactly like a Talonflame; one could only say it bore no resemblance whatsoever.

As someone born and raised in the Paldea region, Miss Miss Junsha had never seen this kind of Pokémon before; could it be, like Luo Mu's slightly different Growlithe, some kind of regional form of Talonflame?

It's just that its body looked somewhat round and plump, which didn't quite match the streamlined, agile physique of a Talonflame.

Truly, one lives long enough to see anything; in a single day, she had actually witnessed two different Pokémon regional forms; she must mention this at the next gathering with the other Miss Junshas, just to make them envious.

After ruling out the possibility of wild Pokémon invading, Miss Miss Junsha did not linger any longer.

Luo Mu led her to the wheat field, where they found her Growlithe playing with the Mawile and Luo Mu's Growlithe; after bowing to Luo Mu, she mounted her police motorcycle with her Growlithe, and the rapidly spinning tires kicked up a swirl of sand and dust before she sped away, vanishing from sight in moments.

Watching the back of this spirited woman disappear like the wind, Luo Mu smiled and shook his head, then looked at the nearby Berry trees, which were now flourishing with lush branches and leaves thanks to the effects of the Grassy Terrain, and muttered: "Let's go check on Bai Bai Pengpeng and the others."

Beside a neatly arranged row of tall fruit trees, Bai Bai Pengpeng, who had become increasingly proficient at caring for crops, led its partners and the Arboliva, slowly pressing against the tree trunks as their bodies emitted a grass-green glow.

This was Bai Bai Pengpeng and the others utilizing the innate advantage Grass-type Pokémon possess over plants to inspect the health of the fruit trees, checking for any lack of nutrients, insufficient sunlight, or water shortages.

If any such issues were found, they would fertilize or water that particular tree, or invite Pokémon like the Dragonite to come over and use the Sunny Day move.

Bai Bai Pengpeng and the others always adhered to an attitude of never slacking off and seriously completing every task, after all, only in this way could the Berry trees produce the highest quality Berries.

Following behind Bai Bai Pengpeng and the others, the Arboliva, which had once been timid and cowardly, had become much more cheerful after evolving; since becoming good friends with Bai Bai Pengpeng and the rest, smiles had appeared on Arboliva's face more often.

For it, as long as it could complete its work alongside Bai Bai Pengpeng and the others, and then see the smiles of other Pokémon and Luo Mu praising its produced olive oil to the skies, Arboliva felt completely satisfied.

When Luo Mu approached, what he saw was Bai Bai Pengpeng, Arboliva, and the others working happily, their faces brimming with smiles.

"Don't tire yourselves out; remember to balance work with rest!"

Luo Mu called out to the few Grass-type Pokémon; he did not want them to damage their health or even develop psychological issues due to overworking.

Fortunately, all four Pokémon were currently in excellent condition, so he probably didn't need to worry too much.
