Chapter 158: Fantasy: Wherever There's Fun, There I Am

~6 min read 1,186 words

"De-li-li?" (Are you kidding me?)

The Delibird's expression instantly turned incredulous; could this unfamiliar Pokémon really be claiming that the natural disaster shrouding the nearby seas was formed by a Pokémon's psychic powers?

How could that be? Even if Dragonite and Dragonair combined their efforts, the scope of their influence shouldn't be able to reach such an extent.

Seeing that Delibird completely disbelieved its words, Mew grew anxious and directly cried out, "Mew-mew-mew-mew!" (Mew isn't lying to you! If Delibird doesn't believe it, then come with Mew to meet the owner of these psychic powers that are affecting the weather!)

"Mew-mew-mew!" (Does Delibird dare to make a bet with Mew? If what Mew says is true, then Delibird must come to Mew's home as a guest!)

Mew? Is this the name of this strange Pokémon?

Delibird tilted its head, not understanding why this Pokémon possessed such a fierce competitive spirit, but the one thing it could confirm was—this Pokémon calling itself Mew was likely very strong.

Luo Mu's notebook had written that one should make many friends; perhaps bringing Mew along would allow them to locate the Dragonite leader's whereabouts more smoothly.

Thinking of this, Delibird nodded: "De-li!" (It's a deal!)

"Mew-mew!" (It's a deal!)

Mew covered its mouth and emitted a triumphant laugh; although it was very curious about the true owner of those psychic powers permeating the storm that made it feel strangely familiar, the Delibird, who seemed to carry many stories, was equally interesting, and since Delibird also intended to enter the castle below, it now had two interesting matters to witness!

Delibird felt somewhat speechless; perhaps it had accidentally boarded a pirate ship.

Mew would not give Delibird time to regret; without any physical contact, Mew's powerful psychic abilities still warped space, instantly carrying the two Pokémon across a vast distance to the new island occupied by an unknown existence, upon which a magnificent castle had been built.

Sitting atop a windmill spinning at high speed due to the wind velocity, Delibird admitted it was somewhat dazed; one moment its eyes were open, the next closed, and it was already sitting on the windmill.

So this is psychic power.

"Pipi~"

The sound came from beside it; Delibird looked to its side and discovered a Pidgeotto with beautiful feathers standing right next to it, urgingly gazing at itself.

Delibird hesitated before speaking: "De-li?" (Are you Mew?)

"Pipi~" (It is Mew~)

As if wanting to prove its identity to Delibird, the Pidgeotto was enveloped by a soft halo of light, transforming back into Mew's form, before once again reverting to the appearance of a Pidgeotto.

Delibird's eyes widened greatly, its face filled with shock: "De-li..." (Such miraculous power.)

The Pidgeotto transformed from Mew and a real Pidgeotto were indistinguishable; it flapped its wings and asked, "Pipi?" (What are we Mews going to do now?)

Mew intended to see exactly what Delibird wanted to do.

Delibird hesitated for a moment; since entering the island, the sky had stopped raining, so it carefully retrieved from its tail a family portrait photo preserved as if it had just been printed, handing it over for Mew to see.

"De-li-li." (I want to find a Dragonite in the castle similar to this Dragonite in the photo; it also carries a black satchel.)

"Pipi?" (Who is this human?)

Mew curiously observed the Pokémon brimming with smiles in the photo, using its wing to point at Luo Mu, who was in the center holding Delibird.

Delibird replied without hesitation: "De-li-li." (He is my Trainer, my savior, the most important human to me.)

Mew did not understand the fervent emotions of Delibird; it merely tilted its head and remained silent.

Delibird knew that finding the Dragonite leader within this enormous castle would certainly not be an easy task.

Seeing that Mew had no desire to continue chatting, Delibird rubbed its somewhat hungry stomach, struggled internally for a moment, then pulled a box of Pokéblocks from its tail once more, intending to eat one to fill its belly.

Opportunity knocks but once; one cannot waste time searching for food to fill one's stomach.

Delibird took out a Pokéblock whose aromatic scent remained rich, but just as it was about to swallow it, it felt extremely uncomfortable under the stare of Mew beside it.

Delibird looked helplessly at Mew in the guise of a Pidgeotto: "De-li?" (What do you want to do?)

"Pipi~" (Such a fragrant smell; is this thing delicious?)

Hearing this, Delibird immediately became alert, guarding the box of Pokéblocks and shaking its head rapidly: "De-li-li!" (I don't have many left either; I can't give one to you to eat!)

Delibird admitted it had selfish motives; it could share other foods with Mew, but the one Luo Mu had prepared for it was off-limits.

Mew wiped the drool flowing from the corner of its beak with its wing; it was truly quite curious about the taste of this fragrant cube, and after struggling for a moment, the drooling Mew thought of its greatest advantage.

"Pipi-pi!" (If Delibird gives Mew one to eat, Mew will immediately take Delibird to see that orange-colored Pokémon!)

"De-li..." (Alright then...)

Delibird admitted that Mew had precisely hit its point of need; recalling Mew's casual teleportation ability, the hopeful Delibird endured the pain and handed the Pokéblock over to Mew.

Mew reverted to its original form, its eyes sparkling as it accepted the Pokéblock, and fearing that Delibird might renege, it quickly stuffed it into its mouth, spinning in the air to savor the taste.

It wasn't that the Pokéblock was particularly delicious; Mew often ran into human homes and shops to steal food, and it wasn't naive enough to be captured by a single Pokéblock.

However, food snatched from Delibird's mouth was the most fragrant, and this psychological satisfaction made Mew exceptionally happy.

Since Mew was happy, it would naturally work a bit more seriously.

Mysterious psychic powers began to surge; within Mew's mind, it accurately utilized the move Future Sight to learn the location of the Dragonite that Delibird was seeking.

A flash of brilliance passed; before Delibird even had time to swallow the Pokéblock in its mouth, its eyes opened and closed, and it had already arrived in an attic of the castle.

"Bo-wu?" (Why are you here? And who is this?)

Delibird was stunned, realizing that the large creature curled up obediently in the attic was none other than the Dragonite that had left earlier.

At this moment, the Dragonite was treasuringly clutching the black satchel, leaning vaguely against empty space, its expression confused as it looked at the suddenly appearing Delibird and Pidgeotto (Mew).

Delibird looked left and right; this attic possessed only a small oil lamp, illuminating the spot where they and the Dragonite stood, while everywhere else was pitch black.

One could feel a heavy scent of dust in the nose and mouth, indicating that the environment here was very concerning; did the Dragonite leader actually live in such a place?

In other words, did that Trainer of its let the Dragonite live in this kind of place?
