Chapter 664: They
The aftershocks raged for nearly a minute before finally subsiding.
The waters near Mesu Island remained shrouded in smoke from the collision of grass, ice, and water-type attacks from the three sides, temporarily obscuring visibility.
From within the thick fog, low roars, like those of ancient beasts, echoed intermittently.
Lugia could have simply summoned gales to blow away the smoke, but Luo Mu stopped it from doing so.
The reason, naturally, was—
“Luo Mu, if you can, try attacking Water Tree and Red Pine!”
Taking advantage of the Sanfang ’s lost visibility, Da Wu shouted as loudly as he could, hoping to convey this vital information to Luo Mu.
If the spark jewel could be removed and swiftly carried away from this battlefield,
then under non-natural energy eruption conditions, Groudon and Kyogre would most likely return to their respective domains and cease their conflict.
Immediately after, Da Wu conveyed to Luo Mu, clearly and concisely, all the information he knew about Groudon and Kyogre.
Of course, Da Wu also remembered that sound could be used for positioning.
While delivering the message, Metagross kept moving, causing several remote attacks from Groudon and Kyogre to miss.
Da Wu knew full well that, given his and Metagross’s current condition, staying here wouldn’t help Luo Mu at all—it would only be a burden.
After delivering the message, without waiting for Luo Mu’s reply, he immediately commanded Metagross to leave the area.
His voice was clearly heard by both Luo Mu and Lugia.
But hearing it seriously was one thing; deciding whether to act on it was another.
At least for Luo Mu, rather than taking this roundabout and uncertain route, he’d rather just knock Groudon and Kyogre down and let them cool off properly!
They couldn’t revert to their primal forms, and he still had reliable combat allies here—this wasn’t impossible!
“Lugia—”
Gazing ahead, Luo Mu gave a low command.
Lugia, summoned here to assist, nodded obediently and accepted the order; the air currents it had already mastered instantly exploded outward in all directions.
Aside from Kyogre and Groudon, who barely moved from their positions, two massive silhouettes suddenly appeared in the center of the sea.
Gigantic Dragonite and Gigantic Gyarados!
When Luo Mu and Lugia set out, they had volunteered to join and lend their aid.
Gigantic Dragonite came to repay a debt; Gigantic Gyarados wanted to show off to its new friend.
The two colossal beings stood side by side before Kyogre—without even considering their aura or combat power, their sheer size alone was intimidating enough!
Ash and Brock, sheltered on a nearby island by Wally, burst out into the storm, staring blankly at the unmistakable figures in the distance.
“Is that…?”
Both Gigantic Dragonite and Gigantic Gyarados held an unforgettable place in their Kanto journey memories.
The Gigantic Dragonite, once thought to be of unknown origin, was one thing—but could that Gigantic Gyarados really be here too?
Add Lugia’s appearance into the mix… no one could understand how excited Ash felt right now.
“Master is awesome!”
At the same time, Kyogre slightly opened its fish-like mouth, staring dumbfounded at the colossal figures blocking its path—
Gigantic Dragonite stood like a mountain on the sea surface, its broad wings slightly spread, casting a shadow that nearly covered the entire sea.
Gigantic Gyarados floated beside it, its eighty-odd tentacles writhing like giant serpents, each glowing with dangerous purple light.
Kyogre: “…”
Who the hell are you guys? (O_o)
How are you guys even bigger than me? Do I have no dignity?!
Although Kyogre’s current length wasn’t as absurdly small as the 4.5 meters falsely listed in Professor Oak’s “academic fraud” Pokédex,
after over an hour of “growth” or recovery, it was barely over ten meters long.
Meanwhile, Gigantic Gyarados and Gigantic Dragonite—excluding tail and tentacle extensions—were both over a hundred meters long.
Compared to them, Kyogre looked like a fat headfish by the roadside.
Kyogre: “…”
Could this be tolerated?!
It was the ruler of the seas, the supreme entity expanding its domain! How could it be outshone by two unknown giants?!
“Roar—!”
A furious growl rolled from its throat; Kyogre thrust its fins upward, and a pale-blue energy sphere rapidly gathered in its palm, sending ancient, violent vibrations trembling through the air—
“Origin Wave”!
If this attack landed, it would trigger another catastrophic tsunami!
Yet, facing the impending blast of destruction, Gigantic Dragonite and Gigantic Gyarados remained eerily calm.
“Go wild!”
Luo Mu’s voice came from behind—he granted Gigantic Dragonite and Gigantic Gyarados considerable freedom.
After all, if he gave direct commands, it might not be as effective as their own instinct and experience in battle.
Gigantic Gyarados had merely followed Gigantic Dragonite here; it had no particular dislike for Luo Mu, but neither did it have much respect for his orders—it might not respond immediately.
Gigantic Dragonite and Gigantic Gyarados exchanged glances, then moved as one toward the incoming energy beam.
Gigantic Dragonite roared, flapped its wings violently, summoning a hurricane of chaotic winds around it, while its mouth compressed a torrent of Dragon-type energy into a dazzling three-colored sphere!
“Dragon Pulse”!
Due to Gigantic Dragonite’s size, this Dragon Pulse appeared extraordinarily grand.
—And as a golden aura surged into it, the sphere swelled several times its original size!
On Gigantic Dragonite’s shoulder, a tiny Victini—minuscule in comparison—was maintaining its Infinite Energy boost.
On the way here, Gigantic Dragonite had told Luo Mu it hadn’t fought in a long time and had little combat energy left to spare.
—Gigantic Dragonite wasn’t Godzilla; it didn’t have a nuclear fusion reactor inside to power its movements. There’s always a trade-off—its very existence at this size was already a miracle.
But for Luo Mu, Gigantic Dragonite’s concerns were nothing at all.
Short endurance, low energy?
Ever heard of an Infinite Energy power bank?
It even boosts move power and physical stats!
The sudden burst of Dragon Pulse collided with Origin Wave.
The battle should’ve been one-sided—but with Victini’s help, Gigantic Dragonite now stood toe-to-toe with Kyogre in a power struggle!
Meanwhile, Gigantic Gyarados had silently sunk beneath the water.
Nearly eighty tentacles spread like swimming dragons through the sea, then clung to Kyogre’s body unnoticed.
The next instant—
The intertwined tentacles, forming a vast net, snapped taut.
Tiny spines pierced through the gaps in Kyogre’s thick scales, injecting Gigantic Gyarados’s poison!
Following Luo Mu’s prior instructions, Gigantic Gyarados avoided using a potent neurotoxin that would cause excruciating pain; it injected only a single toxin to weaken Kyogre’s state and prevent further rage.
Even so, the moment the tentacles wrapped around it, Kyogre thrashed violently.
Normally, a being like Kyogre should be nearly immune to poison.
But talking about toxicity without mentioning dosage is bullshit!
Especially with the volume of venom secreted by Gigantic Gyarados’s tentacles—enough to inflate Kyogre into a balloon!
Even if Kyogre resisted fiercely, it managed to snap several of Gigantic Gyarados’s tentacles with strength far exceeding its size.
But purple bubbles still rose across its body.
—That meant Kyogre was poisoned!
On the other side, Luo Mu and Lugia faced Groudon directly.
With every step, the Land Pokémon shook the island; magma churned beneath its feet, and countless crimson rock blades erupted from the earth like swords of judgment piercing the sky!
“Cliff Edge Sword”!
Luo Mu’s messy black hair curled slightly in the heatwave; though his skin felt faintly burned, he stood firm on Lugia’s broad back, eyes sharp.
—Having Lugia fight Kyogre was certainly safer.
Rain boosted Lugia’s advantages; its “Multiscale” ability, combined with its extremely high Special Defense, could turn Kyogre’s “Origin Wave” into a mere scratch.
But right now, only Lugia could fight Groudon!
Though Gigantic Dragonite and Gigantic Gyarados were massive, their hundred-meter bodies became fatal liabilities against Groudon’s elusive, low-targeting “Cliff Edge Sword.”
“Lugia—”
Standing atop Lugia’s broad back, letting the gales whip his tangled hair, Luo Mu’s icy voice cut through the storm as he stared at the crimson blades piercing the sky.
“Brave Bird!”
“Kiiiiii—!!”
Lugia let out a piercing cry, its silver-white wings snapping shut; chaotic air currents surged over its body, and a brilliant azure flame erupted around it!
Lugia became a streak of azure meteor plunging from the heavens, diving with the force to tear open the sky!
Groudon roared in fury, lifting its head; its golden eyes reflected the approaching blue light. It stomped hard, and more crimson rock blades erupted from the ground, trying to intercept—
But Lugia was too fast!
Lugia believed its aerial evasion skills weren’t inferior to Rayquaza’s; the launch speed of “Cliff Edge Sword” was simply too slow.
After dodging a series of “Cliff Edge Sword” strikes, Lugia had closed the distance to Groudon.
BOOM—!!
Brave Bird slammed straight into Groudon’s chest, and the explosion shattered all the solidified lava within a kilometer radius!
Groudon staggered backward, the ground beneath its feet cracking and sinking under the immense pressure.
“Roar—!”
Groudon roared in pain, yet it forcibly held its balance against the impact.
Its massive, flame-engulfed right claw lunged toward Lugia, while magma-like patterns blazed furiously along the seams of its armored plates, causing the surrounding temperature to skyrocket!
A faint voice echoed from the Pokémon with the Gemstone amulet: “Good, good, good! For the expansion of the earth, Groudon, use Fire Punch on these obstructors!”
Normally, Lugia would have taken Groudon’s counterattack head-on.
But now, its back carried an experienced Trainer.
And at this moment, that Trainer was in a cheat state!
Before Groudon could move, the text in Luo Mu’s eyes began frantically flashing warnings.
Thus, Lugia reacted instantly—under Luo Mu’s prompt, a pale green light enveloped its entire body, forming a phantom spherical shield.
“Mystic Guard!”
The terrifying heat was completely blocked outside the shield, sparing Lugia’s pristine feathers from scorching and curling in the extreme heat.
Lugia then extended its psychic shield, which firmly blocked Groudon’s “Fire Punch.”
At the same time, Lugia spun sharply, its tail fin whipping through violent air currents and striking Groudon’s face!
Not a move with high damage, but maximum humiliation.
Taking advantage of Groudon’s head being knocked sideways, Lugia used the recoil to ascend, lifted by the gale as it pulled further away.
In response came Groudon’s even angrier roar.
Groudon’s roar shook the entire sea, its magma patterns erupting in blinding red light.
The earth trembled violently; countless rivers of lava burst from fissures, staining the seas around Mo Si Island crimson.
“It’s about to use Cliff Edge Sword again!” the text in Luo Mu’s eyes flashed, “Lugia, maintain altitude!”
Lugia immediately flapped its wings and soared upward. Almost simultaneously, countless glowing red blades erupted again from beneath Groudon’s feet, tearing through seawater and shaking the land as they spread.
But Lugia, having anticipated it, had already judged all attack trajectories and elegantly dodged every Cliff Edge Sword.
“Now, use Air Slash!”
Lugia flapped its wings, launching dozens of razor-sharp wind blades whistling through the air.
Groudon swung its massive claws in furious defense, yet several wind blades still struck its face, a flicker of pain flashing in its golden eyes.
The voice of the external brain, Charizard, grew frantic: “Impossible! Groudon, use Flamethrower!”
Groudon opened its jaws wide, heat coiling deep within its throat.
But Luo Mu had already seen through it all—he pointed at Groudon’s throat: “Aim there—Hydro Pump!”
Lugia instantly fired a high-pressure water column, striking precisely into Groudon’s open mouth.
The clash of water and fire triggered a violent explosion; Groudon was hit by its own move and staggered backward several steps.
“Keep suppressing—Psychic!”
Lugia’s eyes blazed blue; an invisible psychic field locked Groudon in place.
The God of the Earth struggled furiously, yet found its once-proud strength now unable to break free.
“Now—Sky Attack!”
Lugia let out a long cry, its body erupting in brilliant golden light.
After a brief charge, Lugia, wrapped in golden flames and surging air currents, shot skyward along a dazzling trajectory.
Then—it plunged downward like a falling meteor.
Groudon barely raised its arms in defense against the Psychic hold, but still took the full force of “Sky Attack.”
BOOM!!!
A massive explosion erupted across Groudon’s body, sending a visible shockwave rippling through the air, violent gusts relentlessly slicing at its hardened magma armor.
This time, it could not hold its stance against the impact and was forced to sit heavily on the ground.
Ignore the furious Charizard.
At this moment, Groudon’s mind was stunned and shattered.
Not only had its attacks achieved nothing, it had suffered relentless counterattacks.
Every move it made was anticipated, then it was practically kite-flied by Luo Mu and Lugia.
Wait, are you guys treating me, the mighty God of the Earth, like some Japanese prank?
Compared to Groudon’s “wronged” state, Lugia’s mood had reached a high point.
—This is too awesome!?
Lugia, always on the defensive, had for the first time felt the thrill of “beating up a kid.”
Under Luo Mu’s command, it didn’t even need to think about what to do next—the most suitable instruction had already been delivered to its ears in advance.
Its task was simple.
Just react to Luo Mu’s orders, ensuring the power and precision of each move.
