Chapter 88: Author

~5 min read 896 words

Big news: this book will be officially released this Friday (the 22nd), at noon tomorrow!

First, I want to thank every reader who has followed this far—honestly, I never expected so many people would stick with my book, and even carry me through all four rounds of new book recommendations.

This book never drew much attention; in the first three days after its debut, daily collections were only twenty to thirty—far below the threshold for even a trial recommendation. At one point, I seriously considered quitting after posting all my saved chapters.

Fortunately, collections gradually increased, more readers came, and I read every segment comment, book review, and chapter comment—thank you to all friends who helped me catch errors.

I also thank my editor, Editor Y, for signing me during the internal submission and helping me resolve many small issues caused by my inexperience.

Thanks to Feng Ju for the chapter recommendation—you’re incredibly easygoing! I showed up out of nowhere asking for a push, and you still gave it to me! Also, heartfelt thanks to Shadow for the chapter recommendation!

Finally, thanks to all readers who cast monthly votes during the free period, and to those who tipped me—your IDs are all visible in my author backend. There are over eighty readers, too many to list individually, so I won’t name each one here.

Thank you so much!

Next, I’ll address the most heated debate in the comments section, along with my personal views on the Pokémon world’s story.

To me, the fantasy Pokémon world is a true utopia that brings genuine peace and joy. Since I first encountered Pokémon anime at age seven or eight, I’ve imagined countless times what I’d do if I ever traveled there.

I’m also a longtime bookworm.

As a teenager, I dreamed of capturing rare Pokémon, catching Legendary Pokémon, becoming Champion, and standing atop the world.

As an adult, aside from a lingering competitive streak, what I truly desire now is to meet Pokémon of all personalities and appearances, to share stories with them, and to embark on an ordinary yet extraordinary journey.

So I took my first step: picked up my phone and keyboard, and typed the first word of this book.

From the very beginning, and continuing through the current plot, Pokémon are the absolute protagonists—this story centers on their personalities, growth, and the interactions between different Pokémon.

I chose farming and cultivation as the theme because, unlike traditional Trainer-style novels where every captured Pokémon must be handled with extreme caution, farming stories are different.

In farming stories, you can delicately depict daily interactions among Pokémon and capture many more species—not limited to just one. For example, the three White Fluffies and four Water Sprouts currently on the farm were captured this way.

Starting as a Champion is undoubtedly a challenge, and it also restricts the type of cheat system. Thus, the temporary “weakest Champion” and the “Special Reminder System (chat partner)” with visibility comparable to Mimikyu were born.

The main plot will ultimately revolve around farming, with occasional side trips to other regions, while also weaving in how the protagonist’s role as a teacher influences the events of the Scarlet and Violet storyline.

Luo Mu’s strength will grow, the farm will expand, the future paths of the Orange Academy students will change, and the regrets in the original storyline will vanish.

I know better than anyone that the Pokémon world isn’t a pure utopia—light and shadow coexist; good people exist, and so do bad ones. But in this book, there will never be dark, deep, or cruel plots.

(PS: Although a food chain among Pokémon exists, it will rarely be mentioned, and no scenes of eating Pokémon alive will appear. The most you’ll see are things like a competitive Crabrawler naturally shedding its claw painlessly, a Slowbro’s tail root lacking nerves, or a Gossifleur cultivated for its premium leek—this is also why ordinary edible animals exist in this world.)

After all, just living in this world is already wonderful enough. Most people read novels to relax; I’d feel miserable writing overly dark plots myself.

Finally, answering the heated debate in the comments about romance: single, multiple, or none.

I don’t know where I gave any hint or borderline implication that this book had harem potential. After all I’ve said above, you should know I only want to write about Pokémon—everything else takes a back seat.

The probability of a harem in this book is zero.

As for whether there will be a female lead, honestly, I’ve been single my whole life—I’m not even sure I can write romance well. The story’s timeline will inevitably stretch over years—three to five years is the minimum.

Later, if a suitable character emerges near the end, she might be elevated to female lead—perhaps just a passing mention—but more likely, the focus will remain on Pokémon and stories built around the original characters.

I definitely won’t introduce a female lead whose tone clashes with the book’s core theme and invites backlash.

I’ve rambled on this long it’s almost a full chapter—thank you to readers who stuck with me through this monologue.

One last thing: tomorrow, Friday (the 22nd), the book releases. Unless something goes wrong, updates will drop at noon—guaranteed ten thousand characters. Please support me with a subscription, everyone!

Don’t make me beg you on my knees! Or2
