Chapter 133

~7 min read 1,261 words

"Huo La, do you think we can really meet Entei?" Ash touched his chest, where the Rainbow Wing was placed close to his body, its seven-colored luster faintly visible through the fabric.

Huo La glanced at him and suddenly asked in return: "If we really meet Entei, do you want to capture it?"

Ash was stunned for a moment, as if pondering repeatedly in his heart, and after a moment, he shook his head: "Capture? I have thought about it, but I don't think I can do it."

He scratched his head and added, "And I always feel something is wrong. You said I am the Rainbow Hero and Entei is here to verify me. If I just think about capturing it, it doesn't seem to fit what a 'Hero' should do."

Just at this moment, Red suddenly spoke nervously: "Be careful, the temperature around us seems to have risen."

Brock immediately patted the Onix beside him, signaling it to slow down. Onix was also carrying Misty and Lilian on its back.

"It's indeed much hotter," Brock echoed. "If nothing goes wrong, Entei should be nearby."

Huo La sniffed, already able to smell a faint scorching scent in the air. The next second, a "ding" sounded in his head.

【Entei's aura detected, task issued】

-Task Type: Battle Task

-Task Content: Battle Entei

-Task Time Limit: 7 days

-Task Reward:

1. Defeated by Entei: Reward random Secret Machine

2. Defeat Entei: Reward condition for one random Pokémon to improve

3. Capture Entei: Reward Master Ball

"Three choices, and all are positive rewards. It even gives a Secret Machine if I lose." Huo La muttered in his heart, his gaze falling on the reward for "Capture Entei."

For others, capturing a Divine Beast is as difficult as ascending to heaven, but he already had a Master Ball in his hand. If he used the Master Ball to capture Entei, he could earn another one, which was equivalent to getting a Divine Beast for free—a steady profit without loss.

Before he could think carefully, Red suddenly lowered his voice: "It's here!"

The group looked in the direction he pointed, and saw a Pokémon slowly pacing out from the depths of the forest.

It had orange-red fur, strong limbs wearing metal iron rings, red hexagram-shaped patterns on its cheeks, a clover-like golden shell embedded on its forehead, and wisps of elegant white smoke floating behind it—it was exactly one of the legendary Ho-Oh's guards, Entei!

"It really is Entei!" Ash's eyes lit up instantly. Misty and Lilian couldn't help but exclaim in low voices, and Lilian immediately took out her notebook to quickly record Entei's physical characteristics.

Entei stopped about two meters in front of the group, raised its head and let out a long roar, its gaze sweeping over everyone's face.

When it lingered on Huo La's face, a hint of doubt flashed in its eyes, and then it looked straight at Ash.

"Brat, be careful." Gengar's voice suddenly sounded in Huo La's body. "I smell the scent of a Ghost-type Pokémon. Although it's very faint, it definitely drifted from Entei's side."

Huo La nodded quietly, his gaze falling on Entei's shadow. As expected, Marshadow should be hiding there.

He gently bumped Ash, and Ash immediately understood, taking the Rainbow Wing out from his chest.

The feather flowed with seven-colored light in the sun. Seeing the feather, Entei let out another roar, slowly walked closer to Ash, and finally stopped half a meter in front of him, staring at him fixedly.

The moment their shadows overlapped, Huo La clearly saw a faint candle-like shadow dart out from Entei's shadow and quickly drill into Ash's shadow—it was Marshadow!

"Brat, the Ghost aura on Entei has faded." Gengar said.

Huo La looked up at Entei and said: "Entei, we want to challenge you!"

Ash also reacted, his eyes becoming firm: "That's right! We want to battle you!"

Entei looked at Ash, then glanced at Huo La beside him, then suddenly leaped back onto a giant rock. Its fur glowed with scorching red light, the fire aura instantly permeated, and it roared again at the sky.

"It said yes!" Gengar translated immediately.

"Good! Ash, Brother Red, let's do it as we discussed!" Huo La took out a Poké Ball. "Go, Nidoqueen!" Most of the Pokémon he could use were afraid of fire, and the modified Grimer was afraid of causing Entei's disgust, so Nidoqueen was the most suitable choice.

"Pikachu, it's your turn!" Ash threw the Poké Ball.

"Jolteon, prepare for battle!" Red also released his Pokémon.

"Nidoqueen, use Rock Tomb first!" Huo La ordered first, and Nidoqueen immediately clapped out several rocks, surrounding Entei's direction.

"Jolteon, Thunder! Coordinate with Rock Tomb to block its movement!" Red followed with the command, and electricity surged around Jolteon, a bolt of lightning striking toward the rock area.

"Pikachu, Quick Attack to get close, use Iron Tail!" Ash's command followed closely, and Pikachu turned into a yellow lightning bolt, rushing toward Entei.

The three people's commands seemed independent but formed a surrounding momentum. Lilian asked curiously while recording: "Have they practiced combined attacks before? The coordination is so tacit."

Brock shook his head and said decisively: "No!"

He paused and analyzed: "Huo La has been traveling with me. Looking at the rhythm of Ash attacking, Huo La defending and restraining, and Red assisting in controlling the field, this mutual support should be the result of them battling and understanding each other these past few days."

"Doesn't that mean their natural tacit understanding is more suitable for team battles?" Lilian asked.

"Perhaps." Brock smiled and looked back at the battlefield.

On the field, Entei suddenly let out a roar full of power, and scorching flames instantly swept the entire field. The surrounding trees withered and charred upon contact with the flames, but they didn't ignite into open fire.

"Such precise power control!" Brock couldn't help but praise.

"Nidoqueen, use Earthquake!" Huo La immediately adjusted his strategy.

"Pikachu, Thunderbolt!" Ash followed with a change in moves.

"Jolteon, use Helping Hand to strengthen yourself!" Red also adjusted his command in time.

"Roar!" Entei roared again, and three fire vortexes appeared out of thin air, shooting toward the three Pokémon respectively.

"Why don't they use Water-type Pokémon!" Misty stomped her feet anxiously on the side. Water-type counters Fire-type; it was clearly the best choice.

Just as the three were locked in a stalemate with Entei, on a large tree at the edge of the battlefield, Jessie, James, and Meowth were hiding behind the branches.

"Jessie, are we really going to act?" James put down his binoculars, his tone carrying hesitation. "Entei is a legendary Pokémon. The three of them combined haven't gained the upper hand; we can't beat it at all, right?"

"Idiot!" Jessie glared at him, her eyes full of anticipation. "Entei! If we can present it to the Boss, we can lie on the beach and sunbathe every day for the rest of our lives!"

"Meow~ We aren't ordinary Trainers; we are an evil organization!" Meowth had a sinister smile on its face, shaking its paws. "Jessie, James, don't we have a secret weapon?"

"You mean that one?" Jessie's eyes lit up.

"Hehe, that's the potion that's said to be able to anesthetize even a Snorlax! Meow!" Meowth said proudly.

"Wait, doesn't Snorlax love to sleep anyway? Does it need anesthesia?" James couldn't help but complain.

"Shut up!" Jessie lowered her voice. "Look, Huo La and the others are about to lose! Get ready, and act once Entei's stamina is almost exhausted!"
