Chapter 312: The Secret of the Origin Ball

"Dr. Laventon was kidnapped by the Three Bandit Sisters?!"

Huo La's voice was full of astonishment; he, Ming Yao, and Xiao Zhao instantly exchanged glances, each of their eyes filled with disbelief.

Dr. Laventon was gentle‑natured, had devoted years to Pokemon research, and had never held a grudge against anyone—how could the Three Bandit Sisters have targeted him?

Ming Yao, after all, had been with the Galaxy Team for a long time and was a key trainee, so he was the first to calm down, stepped forward, and urgently said to the messenger, "Please explain carefully what actually happened. Where was the Doctor, and how was he taken?"

The Galaxy Team messenger replied swiftly, "After the Blowing Fire Island conference ended, Dr. Laventon was invited by Field Master Gua Na to stay on Blowing Fire Island to check the condition of the new king, Wind Speed Dog."

"After the inspection, while we were escorting the Doctor back to Galaxy Team Headquarters, the Three Bandit Sisters suddenly sprang out from the roadside. Their Pokemon were extremely powerful; in a few moves they knocked us all to the ground, then unceremoniously seized Dr. Laventon and vanished in an instant!"

"So... that's it?" Xiao Zhao widened his eyes, his face full of disbelief, "They didn't say they wanted anything, nor left any message?"

"No, they said nothing; their actions were astonishingly swift," the messenger hurriedly nodded, guilt evident in his expression, "It's all our fault for being useless and failing to protect the Doctor."

"Huo La, what do you think?" Ming Yao turned his head toward Huo La, his tone heavy.

"What else can I do but sit and watch," Huo La spread his hands, his voice tinged with helplessness, yet his eyes showed no slack, "The Three Bandit Sisters always act for profit; they wouldn't kidnap a researcher without reason. There's definitely something fishy here."

His thoughts raced: Dr. Laventon was merely a Pokemon Researcher from the Hisui Region, usually keeping a low profile; if he had any distinctive trait, it was that he alone had implemented Pokeball Technology, creating the Pokeballs now commonly used by everyone.

At the thought of the Pokeball, Huo La's mind cleared; he snapped his head toward Ming Yao, urgently asking, "Ming Yao, was the Pokeball invented by Dr. Laventon?"

Ming Yao was momentarily stunned, not understanding why Huo La asked, but answered truthfully, "Strictly speaking, it wasn't his sole invention. The core Pokeball technology had been studied by predecessors long ago; Dr. Laventon merely integrated all the research and put the technique into practice, producing a mass‑producible Pokeball."

"That explains it!" Huo La clapped his hands loudly, his gaze firm, "I know why the Three Bandit Sisters kidnapped Dr. Laventon!"

At his words, Ming Yao, Xiao Zhao, and the messenger all turned toward him in unison, eyes brimming with urgency and curiosity, barely daring to breathe as they waited for him to continue.

Huo La spoke slowly, laying out his reasoning: "Earlier, A Song stole the Origin Ore from the Galaxy Team, and Dr. Laventon possesses the complete Pokeball manufacturing technique. Combining that with what I know of Pokeball development history, there exists a legendary Pokeball called the 'Origin Ball'!"

He paused, his tone growing heavier, "If I'm not mistaken, the Three Bandit Sisters kidnapped Dr. Laventon to have him use the Origin Ore and his technique to create an Origin Ball!"

"Origin Ball?" the other three exclaimed in unison, their faces bewildered; they had never heard of such a Pokeball.

Huo La continued, his voice tinged with gravity, "It's not an ordinary Pokeball; legend says it's a special Pokeball capable of capturing the Time‑Space Dual Gods. Its power far exceeds any Pokeball we currently use!"

"Whoa!"

Usually composed, Ming Yao couldn't help swearing now, his face turning ashen, "Capture the Time‑Space Dual Gods? That's a whole different level of trouble! If they truly forge an Origin Ball, the consequences are unimaginable!"

"Exactly, this is no small matter," Huo La nodded heavily, his brows furrowed, then after a moment of thought continued, "Moreover, the Three Bandit Sisters are just a band of scattered thieves; they likely lack such ambition and insight. Their kidnapping of Dr. Laventon to make an Origin Ball probably serves the will of the person behind them."

Thinking of the mysterious figure behind the Three Bandit Sisters, Huo La suddenly seemed to recall something, turned to the messenger and said, "Go back immediately and tell Captain Majamu and Star Moon Squad Leader my deductions verbatim, without omitting a word."

"Also, deliver this: have them contact Zong Ling Yin Ren of the Ginkgo Guild. I have urgent business and want to see him; the sooner, the better!"

The messenger, unwilling to delay, nodded vigorously, "Understood! Mr. Huo La, I will deliver the message and report back right away!"

The messenger's figure vanished beyond the corridor, and Ming Yao instantly turned to Huo La, his gaze sharp, "Huo La, did you guess something?"

Huo La lifted his eyes to meet his, remained silent for a long while, then let out a soft sigh, "Yes. I only hope... I was wrong."

"What if your guess is true?" Xiao Zhao, standing nearby, couldn't help asking softly.

"If it is true—" Huo La's tone suddenly grew heavy, a faint golden glimmer flashing in his eyes, "then the matter would indeed be troublesome."

"Take a good rest, I'll go with Xiao Zhao to help look after the mischievous Thunder Bombs and Electro Balls; if nothing changes tonight, we'll leave here tomorrow."

Huo La lowered his gaze, silent for a moment as if weighing something; when he looked up, the heaviness in his eyes eased slightly, and he lightly nodded, his tone firm, "Alright. We'll leave first thing tomorrow morning and head to Snowfield."

After Ming Yao and Xiao Zhao left, Huo La sat alone in silence; after a long while, he whispered, "Wang Luo..."
