Chapter 316: Unexpected Visitor
"Huo La, are you really going to help this Darkrai find Cresselia?" Ming Yao's voice carried a hint of hoarseness, and his tone was full of worry.
Huo La placed both hands on his swollen head, his face full of helplessness, his eyes hiding a hint of curiosity, and slowly said, "If it's a blessing it's not a disaster; if it's a disaster you can't dodge it."
Xiao Zhao stomped impatiently and hurriedly asked, "Then you must have thought where to look for that… Cresselia, right? You can't just search blindly!"
Huo La released his grip on his head, gently shook his head, and said honestly, "I don't know."
"Ah?! You don't know, and you promised it?" Xiao Zhao covered his mouth in shock, eyes wide, face full of disbelief, "Are you crazy? What if Darkrai gets impatient and starts spreading Nightmares again, what will we do?"
Huo La forced a bitter smile, and the Attribute Panel of Darkrai that the system had just scanned flashed in his mind; his tone was helpless, "What can we do? It's as if we wouldn't spread Nightmares unless we refuse him."
"With Darkrai's power, if we all go together and give it our all, we might be able to drive it away, but the Mischievous Rockets and Thunderbolt Balls in the Valley would be completely devastated."
As one of the Phantom Pokemon, Darkrai's level was well over 80, its Su Xing had reached SS-Grade, and the rest of its Attribute Panel was a sea of question marks; its power was unfathomable, far beyond what they could currently contend with.
He truly didn't want to get involved in this mess, but after receiving the Offspring Pokemon Egg gifted by the Mischievous Rocket King, and since those Mischievous Rockets were already in peril because of Darkrai, he had no reason to stand by.
Huo La remained silent for a moment, then called again in his mind: "Dai Ouqixi Si…"
In the Heart Lake, silence prevailed; Dai Ouqixi Si stayed silent for a long time before reluctantly speaking, his tone still icy but less mocking: "Fine… I do sense an aura of the same origin as Darkrai, nearby this area. However… I can't pinpoint its exact location; the aura is concealed, fluctuating in strength."
"The only thing I can confirm is that the aura is still here, it hasn't left."
Huo La's brows knit instantly, his fingertips tightened slightly, after a moment of thought he sighed helplessly: "Enough, enough. We've been at this all night, my mind's a mess. Let's get some rest and deal with it at sunrise tomorrow."
Saying that, he ignored Ming Yao and Xiao Zhao's reactions, buried his head in the blankets, and a faint breathing sound was heard moments later.
Ming Yao and Xiao Zhao exchanged a glance, seeing resignation in each other's eyes, and without further disturbance they gently closed the door and turned away from the tent.
The night remained deep; Darkrai hovered at the edge of the Valley, appearing and disappearing, while the Mischievous Rockets below the Valley, in tranquil sleep, slowly regained their breath.
The next day at noon, Huo La lazily awoke, let out a long yawn, and lightly tapped his swollen head with his hand.
After wrestling until dawn yesterday to finally rest, waking at this hour, most of his exhaustion had finally dissipated, and his spirit had recovered considerably.
He lazily got up, quickly dressed, did a brief wash, shook off the lingering drowsiness, then pushed open the tent door and stepped out.
Outside, the weather was gloomy; lead‑gray clouds hung low, there was no trace of the usual wind and sunshine, and even the air carried a damp, chilly chill, faintly tinged with eeriness.
To Huo La's surprise, Mu Xia was still standing at the tent entrance, hands tucked in his sleeves, looking both impatient and hesitant to disturb.
Seeing Huo La emerge, his eyes instantly brightened, and he quickly rushed over, his tone urgent yet a bit cute: "Huo La, you're awake! Where are we going today to find Cresselia?"
"Mm?" Huo La raised an eyebrow, a hint of confusion flashing across his face, he stopped and looked at Mu Xia, "Why are you waiting here? Aren't you supposed to look after the Mischievous Rockets?"
Mu Xia scratched his head, smiled and said, "Those Mischievous Rockets and Thunderbolt Balls have already woken up; big brother let the team watch them. He said you agreed to help Darkrai find Cresselia for our Mischievous Rocket Tribe, and he wants to stay in the Valley to hold the fort, so it's not convenient for him to go out, so he asked me to cooperate with you, to lend a hand, guide you, and so on!"
Huo La, upon hearing that, gave Mu Xia a brief glance and said nothing more.
He pondered briefly, then ordered Mu Xia: "First, go find Ming Yao and Xiao Zhao, tell them to tidy up. We'll set out this afternoon, scout around the Valley, see if we can detect Cresselia's aura, and also keep an eye on Darkrai's movements."
"Got it!" Mu Xia promptly replied, face full of vigor, and darted off hurriedly.
Huo La stood still, looked up at the gloomy TianQiong, the lead‑gray clouds unmoving, not a breath of wind.
He subconsciously glanced at the edge of the Valley, where it was empty, with no trace of black mist.
But Huo La knew deep down that Darkrai hadn't left— that feeling of being watched by a cold gaze lingered around him, impossible to shake.
In the afternoon, the gloomy sky showed no sign of improvement.
In the forest near the Yingyue Battlefield, the foliage was dense and the light dim; Huo La, Ming Yao, Xiao Zhao, and Mu Xia wandered aimlessly, scouting.
Huo La occasionally called out to Dai Ouqixi Si in his mind, asking about Cresselia's aura, and even with its guidance, they followed the faint, fluctuating same‑origin aura, combing through most of the forest yet still found nothing concrete.
The four walked from afternoon into evening, legs aching, expressions growing weary and despondent.
Xiao Zhao rubbed his sore ankle and muttered, "Why can't we find it anywhere? Where on earth is Cresselia hiding?"
Ming Yao also frowned, his tone tinged with helplessness: "There's nothing we can do; we have to rely on this most primitive method of searching."
Huo La shook his head, calmly: "Fine, it's getting late; continuing to search is useless. Let's head back, rest, and probe a different direction tomorrow."
The group had no other choice but to turn away, trudging through the deepening dusk, returning to the Yingyue Battlefield.
As soon as they stepped into the Yingyue Battlefield camp, a Diamond Team‑uniformed member rushed over, respectful yet urgent: "Mr. Huo La, you finally returned! Mu Chun Field Master is looking for you; he's waiting in the mess hall. He said a guest has arrived, specifically to see you."
"Guest? Coming specifically for me?" Huo La's eyes flashed with surprise, and he glanced at Ming Yao, Xiao Zhao, and Mu Xia— all four wore puzzled expressions.
After a moment of surprise, Huo La lightly nodded and said to the member: "Alright, please tell Mu Chun Field Master I'm on my way; ask him to wait a moment."
The member replied with a nod and darted away.
Huo La looked at the three beside him, his tone thoughtful: "Let's go and see who it is; maybe there'll be some unexpected clue."
