Chapter 333: Eevee's Failure

~6 min read 1,163 words

"Eevee, another one..."

Huo La's command hadn't been finished when Shan Kui's cold voice cut it off.

She put away all the teasing, her small face tightened, and said with an uncompromising authority: "We've been fighting for so long, it's my turn to take the lead!"

"Chao Jia Kuang Xi, use Sandstorm!"

As the words fell, the bitterly cold Bingyuan, once filled with snowflakes, suddenly erupted into a raging Sandstorm.

Unlike the yellow sand whipped up in earth and dunes, this Sandstorm carried fine ice crystals and snowflakes, howling and sweeping the arena, instantly becoming a sky‑blocking haze that even blurred the massive silhouette of Chao Jia Kuang Xi.

Shan Kui's plan was clear—Sandstorm blocks the sun, both weakening Eevee's Sunny Day effect and reducing Sunlight Blade's power, while continuously sapping Eevee's stamina; a win‑win.

But Huo La, facing the sky‑blocking Sandstorm, showed no sign of panic; instead a faint joy glimmered in his eyes, and the corner of his mouth curved knowingly.

"Eevee, Sunlight Blade, Multi Slash!" Huo La did not hesitate, issuing the command instantly, his tone firm and composed.

Eevee immediately understood, and its body again gathered golden sunlight energy; the previous Sunlight Blade had not yet faded, and it formed a second and third blade—three sharp golden arcs blazing with fierce light—slashing forward and backward at Chao Jia Kuang Xi, faster and more powerful than before.

"Useless!" Shan Kui said with a determined confidence, her small face set, "Under the Sandstorm the sun is blocked, your Sunlight Blade's power will be greatly reduced, it can't even hurt Chao Jia Kuang Xi; you're doomed..."

Before the words finished, a mournful low roar suddenly rang out.

Chao Jia Kuang Xi's massive body shuddered violently as the three Sunlight Blades struck its chest in succession; the previous wound deepened and lengthened, blood seeping through the armor's seams, clearly a serious injury.

"How... how is this possible!" Shan Kui froze on the spot, eyes wide and round, face full of disbelief, her voice trembling, "The Sandstorm clearly blocks the sun, how can Sunlight Blade be this powerful?!"

Huo La lightly stomped the snow beneath his feet, the packed snow creaking; his tone remained calm as he explained slowly, "Nothing is impossible. Sandstorm does block Sunny Day, but you forgot this is a Bingyuan, not a desert."

He raised his hand, pointing at the swirling Sandstorm, and continued, "The Sandstorm you caused with Chao Jia Kuang Xi lifts not dust but the ice crystals and snowflakes of the Bingyuan. Those crystals are clear and, rather than fully blocking sunlight, they refract it, making Sunny Day's rays more scattered and intense, effectively boosting Eevee's Sunlight Blade."

Shan Kui looked in the direction he indicated and indeed saw countless ice crystals in the Sandstorm refracting fine golden light, sparkling with specks of brilliance.

Xiao Zhao, cradling SuoluoYa, eyes shining with excitement, said, "Huo La, you're amazing!"

Huo La showed no pride, his gaze refocusing on Chao Jia Kuang Xi, he said sternly, "Eevee, now, Magic Leaf!"

Eevee's body instantly became enveloped in layers of emerald green leaves, energy poised to strike.

"I'm done playing, I'm angry!" Shan Kui's small face puffed up like a pufferfish, becoming completely serious, "Chao Jia Kuang Xi, Drill Run!"

Already wounded by the Sunlight Blade's Multi Slash, Chao Jia Kuang Xi instantly surged with bloodlust.

It let out a sky‑ward roar, its single horn spinning at high speed, turning into a terrifying drill head, and with heavy yet ferocious strides it charged fiercely at Eevee.

"Eevee, Magic Leaf!" countless sharp green leaves whistled out, trying to block Chao Jia Kuang Xi.

But Magic Leaf collided with the high‑speed Drill Run, instantly exploding and shattering, unable to block even for a second.

"Boom—!" The devastating Drill Run slammed hard into Eevee's petite body.

The emerald figure flew up like a snapped leaf, then crashed heavily onto the snowfield, motionless.

Eevee, unable to fight.

Huo La looked at the fallen, incapacitated Eevee, his eyes steady, and took a deep breath, "Thank you for your effort, Eevee."

Chao Jia Kuang Xi has always relied on brute force, and now, under absolute level suppression and the aid of refined techniques, defeating Eevee with a single strike was no surprise.

Moreover, Eevee had just endured the impact of Heavy Stomp, its breath already unsteady.

Huo La calmly retrieved Eevee's Pokeball, his fingertips showing no hesitation as he reached straight for the Pokeball behind him, his knuckles pressing slightly, his eyes holding a resolute gamble.

At the edge of the arena, Xiao Zhao clutched SuoluoYa tightly, daring not to breathe, cold sweat already beading on his palms; SuoluoYa, no longer soft, perked its ears, nervously staring at the battlefield's center, its tail stiff and straight.

Shan Kui propped her knee, gasping heavily, her small face still flushed red, yet her eyes held a hint of satisfaction.

The Chao Jia Kuang Xi beside her still bore the Sunlight Blade scar on its chest, its breath a bit erratic, but its surrounding ferocious aura remained undiminished; its massive body swayed slightly, still exuding a crushing sense of pressure.

"This duel isn't over yet."

Huo La's voice, steady and powerful, broke the silence on the field.

He raised his hand and hurled the Pokeball in his grasp with force; a red arc sliced through the swirling snowstorm, his tone filled with undeniable battle intent.

"The final one, appear now, Long Wang Xie!"

The Red Light suddenly exploded, its dazzling brilliance almost illuminating the entire Bingyuan.

The next second, a massive scorpion covered in dark‑purple Toxic markings crashed down with a thud, the "Dong" sound causing the snow beneath its feet to cascade away.

Its tail's Poison Needle stood upright, the tip glinting with a chilling, bone‑piercing light; the hard exoskeleton showed a matte sheen in the dim light, its robust pincers opening slightly with a "Ka‑da" crack, and its fierce, powerful aura immediately suppressed half of Chao Jia Kuang Xi's ferocity.

Shan Kui's pupils contracted sharply, her smug expression freezing, and after a few seconds she recovered, "Long Wang Xie... even with its armored shell, it's not the same as Chao Jia Kuang Xi's hard armor! Chao Jia Kuang Xi, give it no chance, use Rock Blast!"

Before the words finished, Chao Jia Kuang Xi let out a ferocious low roar toward the sky, its muscles tensing.

Countless sharp rocks gathered around Long Wang Xie, dense and numerous, stone fragments entwined with snow, the sight terrifying.

Huo La reacted swiftly, almost the same moment Shan Kui gave her command, he shouted back, "Long Wang Xie, Iron Tail, smash those rocks!"

Long Wang Xie obeyed, its sturdy hind leg kicking powerfully, its tail instantly flashing a dazzling silvery‑white metallic sheen; the hard Iron Tail whooshed through the air, sweeping fiercely.

"Boom boom boom—!" A series of muffled thuds rang out as the Iron Tail shattered rock after rock, fragments spraying and scattering across the snow, leaving a dense trail of marks.
