Chapter 484: Dynamax
Just as Hanbeier stared intently at his phone screen, his face full of disbelief, a stranger's voice suddenly rang through the whole venue.
"Aimeijiao, I told you long ago, since you did those things, don't be indecisive; what must be settled should be settled immediately. Meow Leader, start the theft!"
As the words fell, a gray‑black figure flashed instantly, its speed astonishing. In the next second, the two Pokeballs in Hanbeier's hand vanished into thin air.
The Meow Leader took the two Pokeballs and hurriedly handed them to the speaker.
Only then did everyone see clearly that the newcomer was a man in a tidy suit, his hair meticulously groomed.
"Loz..." Hanbeier stared at the other, his eyes blazing with anger.
Huo La's expression instantly grew solemn.
The man standing before them was the president of Macrocom Group and the former League chairman of the Jiaole'er Diqu.
Huo La never expected that the mastermind hidden behind Aimeijiao was actually him.
Since the Rainbow Rocket Team split the world, most regions have been essentially under its control, but Galar remains an exception.
The Rainbow Rocket Team has never openly established a large‑scale presence in Galar, only occasional probing infiltrations, and the biggest cause of all this is Macrocom Group.
When Loz, the group's ruler, saw the Rainbow Rocket Team's invasion and the world's chaotic upheaval, he chose to break away from the mainstream League. Yet he never fully chose a side, covertly dealing with the Rainbow Rocket Team while still maintaining contact with the existing League.
Precisely because of this, the situation in the Jiaole'er Diqu has always been especially unique and tangled.
"Loz, you caused Captain Jibeiweng's death!" Hanbeier snarled angrily.
Loz let out a light sigh, his tone even as he defended, "Strictly speaking, I didn't kill him; we originally intended to save him."
"We developed a new drug that keeps human functions at an extremely low consumption, thereby extending lifespan. It was meant to prolong Jibeiweng's life, but he had long absorbed Liu Shuo, his body was completely altered, unable to endure the drug's effect, and the severe backlash caused his untimely death."
His tone was airy, without remorse: "I can't be blamed. Even without this injection, given his condition and the amount of Liu Shuo in his body, he could at most survive a week. I merely ended his painful suffering early."
Huo La listened quietly, remaining silent.
Spinel had indeed mentioned Jibeiweng's condition and Liu Shuo reserves to him before; although not as dire as Loz claimed—only a week left—it could at most barely last a month, with little time remaining.
"Chairman Loz, what exactly are you trying to do?" Huo La suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.
Loz finally turned his gaze to Huo La, scrutinizing him from head to toe, then smiled slowly: "You're Huo La, right? I've heard of you. During the time you disappeared, we even cooperated with the League, searching everywhere for your whereabouts."
"As for what I want? What I can do?" Loz said evenly, his tone light, "I simply want an energy source that can be used indefinitely, and the Liu Shuo in Paradise is the best brand‑new choice."
Huo La heard this, his voice deep: "No one can be certain about events a thousand years from now."
Hearing that, Loz's smile vanished instantly, his eyes suddenly changed, filled with shock and gravity, staring at Huo La: "How do you know? What else do you know?"
Huo La breathed a silent sigh of relief inside.
Sure enough, just as his memory recalled, Loz had been planning all along for the likely Energy Depletion Crisis that Galar would face a thousand years later.
He shrugged lightly and replied calmly, "Time told me."
"Time..." Loz murmured briefly, then understood instantly, nodding slowly, "It's Dialga, right... you glimpsed the future."
His tone took on a hint of loneliness and Adamant: "Since you can see it, it proves my foresight wasn't wrong; the future crisis is exactly as I predicted."
Huo La shook his head, retorting, "No, I haven't glimpsed the future. The future is never fixed, nor can we decide it now. Even if an energy crisis does occur, your current actions can't prevent it."
Loz lifted his eyes to stare at Huo La, regaining his earlier dominance and confidence, and sneered, "Heh, without trying it yourself, who can draw a conclusion?"
"Now both keys to open Paradise are in my hand; you can no longer stop me."
"That's not right; you only have one key, and we can still stop you."
A cool, steady voice suddenly came from behind.
Loz followed the voice and saw Spinel slowly emerge from behind Huo La, his palm quietly holding an Ancient Spirit Ball!
"Ancient Spirit Ball! How—how is this possible?" Aimeijiao was shocked.
Spinel glanced at him: "Nothing's impossible; the Ancient Spirit Ball containing a Zygarde is indeed only one, but... the ancient Pokeballs left behind are more than one!"
Loz's eye twitched sharply, and he hurriedly looked down at the Ancient Spirit Ball in his hand, his face turning iron‑blue: "You mean... this one is fake? You've been scheming against us from the start!"
Huo La raised an eyebrow and smiled, his tone composed: "One must always keep a backup. If you backtrack and refuse to release them, wouldn't we lose everything?"
"Since we can't reach an agreement, let's act directly!" Loz's gaze turned icy, and he shouted loudly, "Come out, Great King Bronze Elephant!"
A flash of Red Light, the massive Great King Bronze Elephant thundered into view, firmly standing before Loz.
Huo La frowned slightly, surprised by the Pokémon Loz sent, but only for a moment before regaining composure.
Immediately after, Loz pulled an Energy Storage Can from his pocket and tossed it straight at the Great King Bronze Elephant.
The moment the Great King Bronze Elephant touched the can, a blinding Red Light erupted around it.
A dazzling aura enveloped its whole body; its massive form swelled and rose rapidly, its size ballooning more than tenfold in an instant, and Intimidation instantly filled the arena.
"Dynamax?!"
Spinel's face was shocked, looking at the scene in disbelief: "You actually can force a Pokémon to Dynamax outside Galar!"
Loz's expression was coldly proud, his voice confident: "These past years, my Macrocom Group hasn't been idle. We've successfully developed a portable Dynamax Energy Device. Though its duration is limited, it's more than enough to deal with you!"
