Chapter 511: Predestined History

~6 min read 1,080 words

He agreed.

Four simple, plain words, yet they struck Huo La's mind like a thunderclap.

An extreme chill surged up his spine; Huo La's complexion changed abruptly, and he sprang up sharply, his gaze razor‑sharp: "Not good!"

Chi Ri lifted his eyes, his cold stare drifting lightly over Huo La's face, his tone flat and settled like dust: "It seems you've noticed. Unfortunately, you're still a step too late. Since you entered this Headquarters, the outside has already been completely surrounded by my men."

Swoosh—!

Paipa and Bilan's expressions shifted dramatically; both sprang up, instantly assuming battle‑ready stance, eyes vigilantly fixed on the tightly shut doors.

Through the cracks of the great doors and the hallway beyond, countless Galaxy Team members stood layered outside, sealing every entrance and exit, leaving no room for breakthrough.

Seeing the situation clearly, the tense atmosphere suddenly eased.

Huo La slowly steadied his swirling thoughts, stood firm again, his expression fully returning to calm—no panic, no agitation, only a quiet prudence.

Chi Ri stared at the ageless composure in his eyes; his taut expression softened slightly, he raised a hand to signal Huo La to sit again, his tone tinged with admiration: "You're calmer than I expected; this temperament is hardly that of a fifteen‑ or sixteen‑year‑old boy."

Huo La spread his hands calmly, his voice even: "That means I have many followers. No need to beat around the bush—just tell me, what exactly are you two planning?"

His gaze sharpened, targeting the core: "If I'm not mistaken, the Chi Ri in the League who voluntarily sought the League's help and led us here to Sinnoh—this whole thing has been your set‑up, right?"

"That's one way to put it."

The Chi Ri before him did not deny it, gave a slight nod, then began to speak slowly.

"Your experience of traveling back to the Hisui Era, when placed in the present world, is a fantastical tale, an unconvincing secret. Ordinary people hearing it would treat it as a ridiculous rumor."

"But this place is different. This is Sinnoh, the former Hisui homeland, the very ground where you truly lived and left your mark, and also the realm where the Galaxy Team has been rooted for a thousand years."

"In the oldest secret history records of the Galaxy Team, clear accounts of you are preserved."

Chi Ri's eyes grew distant as he slowly recounted the past: "At first, the me in the League, in order to locate the Space-Time Trio, consulted these Ancient Secret Books. When he saw your record, he hesitated a bit, but still planted a seed in his heart."

"It wasn't until we, outsiders from another world, arrived here, and until I personally stood before him, that he was fully convinced the Hisui Era's records about you were never fictional legends."

"The moment he handed me all the Ancient Records for comparison, the two of us were utterly shocked."

Chi Ri's tone took on a heavy wistfulness: "After that we scoured for information and finally uncovered news of your disappearance at the hands of the Rocket Team Forces."

"You can't even imagine how shocked we were then."

"Later histories have already carved your name and deeds, yet you, in the present world, vanished abruptly."

He lifted his gaze, staring intently at Huo La, and asked in a deep voice: "Do you know what this means?"

Huo La's expression remained calm, answering word for word with certainty: "History is irreversible."

"Everything that is meant to happen, regardless of how twisted the process or how many variables arise, will ultimately play out as scheduled."

"Exactly."

Chi Ri slowly nodded, a trace of fated resignation and coldness flashing in his eyes: "History is irreversible; what is destined will inevitably occur."

"Including us, and everyone from Parallel World who formed the Rainbow Rocket Team. We crossed worlds to come here, not to overturn the future, but to follow the predetermined script and fulfill the history already written."

"In other words, the ending for all of us was set from the start. Whether we will it or struggle, it is inevitable."

"So?" Huo La lifted his eyes, his tone calm yet edged, confronting Chi Ri directly.

"So, he voluntarily gave up his lifelong dream." Chi Ri's voice was flat, with a hint of fated indifference: "In the end I fully took over the Galaxy Team, directing all actions, while he lurked within the League, playing the role of justice and submission."

"Simply hiding and lying low can't be that simple." Huo La calmly exposed the truth.

"Of course it's more than that." Chi Ri admitted plainly, slowly revealing the Secret Pact between them: "He and I have long agreed. Since he believes everything is fated and unchangeable, he arranged his own hidden scheme. I, meanwhile, continue to lead the Galaxy Team forward, carrying out our original goal."

"You are the predetermined key figure in history. You will inevitably return to Sinnoh and interface with the League. The one hidden within the League is our pre‑placed contingency, specifically to counter your contingency."

When the words fell, the hall sank into dead silence.

Huo La lowered his gaze, silent for a few breaths; when he raised his eyes again, his irises were clear and penetrating, he countered: "Then aren't you afraid that my stepping in here today is also a necessary part of history?"

Chi Ri heard this, and instead of panic let out a light laugh, his eyes sharp as he retorted: "Why should I be afraid?"

"You and I both know the predetermined past, the history of Hisui and the secrets of Sinnoh."

"But the future alone is a blank, no one knows its ending."

He leaned forward slightly, the Intimidation spiking instantly, staring hard at Huo La: "On what basis do you firmly believe that everything happening now is the future you want, rather than the future I want?"

"History only fixes the past; it never locks the ending."

After a brief pause, Chi Ri spat a chilling, bone‑cold line: "In other words, if I act here and eliminate you now, who can say that isn't a future already set."

The cold words echoed through the spacious Headquarters hall; outside, the layered blockade of the Galaxy Team was silent, unintentionally making the standoff even more suffocating.

Bilan and Paipa were tense all over, palms slightly sweaty, every nerve heightened to the limit. The Chi Ri before them was far more terrifying and unfathomable than they had imagined.
