Chapter 517: Kid, you're truly too cautious
"Memory?" Huo La frowned.
"That's right, memory." Chi Ri's voice slowly rose in the darkness.
Huo La stared at him, his tone cautious: "You pulled me into your memory; what exactly do you want to do?"
Chi Ri's tone was flat, yet hid a long‑suppressed coldness: "It's just that there are some things you should know."
As the words fell, the endless darkness surrounding them suddenly lit up.
A gentle white light spread, and a complete world scene slowly formed before Huo La's eyes.
It was a Pokemon World almost identical to the one he inhabited—familiar scenery, familiar people, countless acquaintances living peacefully within it.
But the scene kept flowing, and everything began to diverge completely from a certain temporal node, becoming wholly detached from the world Huo La knew.
In this timeline, Chi Ri and the Galaxy Team swept away all obstacles, suppressing every unrest.
Relying on Dialga and Palkia's Time and Space power, they truly reached the pinnacle of the world; Chi Ri got his wish fulfilled, personally reshaping a brand‑new world of his own.
But this completeness was absurdly brief.
In Huo La's perception, that brand‑new world lasted only a day or two before it completely ended.
At the far end of the scene, a supreme figure cloaked in endless holy light descended upon the world.
Even without a full view, Huo La instantly recognized the identity—Arceus.
"You recognized it, didn't you?"
Chi Ri's voice was wrapped in bone‑piercing anger and resentment, echoing through the space.
"That's Arceus."
"I exhausted everything, wagered my lifelong ideals, and finally created a brand‑new world. I thought it was over; I finally succeeded."
"But in an instant, Arceus descended from nowhere and instantly annihilated the new world I created."
"Not only that, it also Sheer Force‑dragged me into this unfamiliar Parallel World, forcibly turning us into the so‑called Rainbow Rocket Team!"
After hearing Chi Ri's maximally suppressed confession, Huo La remained silent for a long while.
After a long while, he finally let out a soft sigh and whispered, "I really didn't expect you to have personally witnessed the destruction of your own world."
Those words made Chi Ri pause slightly, his tone instantly heavy: "You already knew? Knew that Arceus would destroy the world?"
"Yes, I know."
Huo La's expression remained calm as he stated a harsh truth: "Moreover, I'm aware that every world the Rainbow Rocket Team members originally came from was ultimately destroyed by Arceus himself."
Hearing this, Chi Ri's body froze abruptly, the anger long suppressed within exploding, and he growled low, "Why? What does it actually want to do!"
"It's about to die."
Huo La's tone was flat, as if recounting something utterly ordinary: "It just wants to survive."
"Heh, survive..." Chi Ri let out a cold snicker, full of resentment and sarcasm.
Looking up at him, Huo La's words were clear and hit the core: "You used the Time‑Space Dual Gods' power to overturn the old world and reshape a new one according to your will; what you and Arceus did is exactly the same. What right do you have to be angry?"
"My anger was never about it destroying the world!" Chi Ri suddenly lifted his gaze, his eyes blazing and obsessive, "What I hate is that it personally crushed the dream I spent my whole life attaining!"
"So then?" Huo La asked calmly, neither humble nor arrogant.
Chi Ri stared at him intently, his gaze sharp and piercing: "What exactly is the relationship between you and Arceus?"
"Is that really important?" Huo La retorted.
"Of course it's important!" Chi Ri's tone suddenly grew heavier.
Huo La paused briefly, then slowly voiced his original intent: "It only seeks its own survival, arbitrarily erasing worlds; your world, the world of every Rainbow Rocket Team member, are merely stepping stones for it, with no true end in sight. As for me, I only wish to Protect and save the world I inhabit."
"Saving the world..." Chi Ri repeated softly, his tone tinged with mockery, "What a grand and distant ideal for a youngster."
"If you can reshape the world, I can also protect the world." Huo La stood his ground.
Chi Ri looked at his stubborn demeanor, then suddenly said, "Among the countless futures I've glimpsed, one ends with you successfully saving the world. Want me to let you see it with your own eyes?"
Huo La felt a slight stir of curiosity, but instantly shook his head firmly: "No need. The future is ever‑changing; seeing it would only bind us to a predetermined picture."
Chi Ri was about to speak further when Huo La's voice rang out again, his tone resolute: "However, since you've seen my successful future, that alone proves my wish to Protect the world is no empty talk; I will certainly have a chance to achieve it."
"You really don't want to see at all?" Chi Ri asked again.
"I don't want to." Huo La replied decisively, without any hesitation.
"You deliberately pulled me into your memory, laying out all the truth for me to see," Huo La said, his gaze steady, staring at Chi Ri. "That shows that everything you're doing now is already part of the process you saw in that future; there's no need to make me watch it again."
Chi Ri quietly stared at him, the pent‑up malice within suddenly dissipating, a rare calm settling over him, a faint smile curling his lips.
"You really are an interesting little fellow."
Huo La silently watched him, waiting for what he would say next.
Chi Ri slowly spoke, his tone relieved yet tinged with utter fatigue: "I no longer wish to keep struggling in this world."
"I choose the curtain to fall."
"My two Time‑Space clones, Dialga and Palkia, I leave them to you. You can let your Space‑Time Trio directly devour and absorb their power."
After saying that, he paused.
"There's one more thing, I'll tell you."
"Arceus has already descended upon this world. It now hides somewhere within this very realm."
Huo La, hearing that, fell silent again for a moment, then slowly nodded in response.
"I understand."
Chi Ri looked at him, slightly curious, and asked, "Don't you want to ask exactly where it hides?"
Huo La's expression remained calm, his tone firm: "The future is always subject to change; asking would be meaningless."
Chi Ri heard this and couldn't help but let out a light laugh, his eyes bearing a hint of approval and sentiment.
"You, kid, are truly overly cautious."
"Enough, Sinnoh is now yours, and that Grim King... he's untrustworthy; he's together with another version of me."
Huo La nodded: "I understand."
