Chapter 562: Another Book, Completion Remarks

Another book, completion remarks

Finally, this book is officially finished.

I wrote it intermittently for a whole year; the originally planned four volumes were forcibly compressed into three.

It's not that I wanted to rush the ending; this year's life has been far too tumultuous.

From the fiery enthusiasm and confidence at the start, to later dismal metrics and a collapsing mindset, forced to repeatedly truncate the plot; from a previously stable, carefree life to sudden unemployment and the arrival of a new little life, the pressures piled up, suffocating me.

Now that I put the final pen to the conclusion, it's not that life has gotten better, but I have finally shed a heavy burden and concern, and earnestly handed the readers who have followed me a complete answer sheet.

When I first set out to write this Pokemon fanfiction, my original intention was especially simple.

I wanted to create a different protagonist to accompany Ash, Xiao Gang, those old companions from our childhood, side by side, adventuring together, earnestly pursuing the pure dream of "becoming the world's number one Trainer."

But by the middle of the first volume, the dismal metrics completely shattered my initial enthusiasm. The more I wrote, the more anxious and irritable I became, and countless times I entertained the thought of completely abandoning the series.

During that period I was constantly tugging and internal battling. Two voices in my mind kept arguing.

One voice told me to cut my losses in time, trim the foreshadowing, and abandon long‑term plotlines.

Nowadays, whether on web‑novel platforms or in countless writing tutorials and blogs, newcomers are taught "profit‑driven writing": if the metrics are poor, cut the book immediately; if it doesn't make money, abandon it decisively, aligning everything with profit. From a pragmatic standpoint, this is indeed the most rational and hassle‑free choice.

But another voice held me tightly.

I've always believed that the moment an author puts pen to paper, they are personally creating a complete world.

If you stop writing and abandon updates, that vibrant world, along with all its characters and stories, will be completely sealed, rendered void, and left untouched.

To be a bit arrogant, the writer is essentially the Arceus of his own story, the Creator God unique to this world. I can't bear to personally destroy the world I've built piece by piece, nor let Huo La and all the characters end up with a conclusion that has no ending.

Thus, over this year, I wrote, paused, endured again and again, forcibly compressing, streamlining, and restructuring the original four‑volume outline into the three‑volume content we have now.

To finish the book smoothly, I overturned countless settings and adjusted the overall story pacing.

The complete Hisui storyline originally slated for the third volume to lay groundwork and perfect logic had to be heavily cut in the end;

The entire Arceus confrontation main line was forced to have its pace compressed and its conflicts accelerated;

Even Gengar's role, I initially planned to place entirely in side stories, not appear in the main narrative.

But in the end I saw it through: since this is the ending, I shouldn't leave any regrets.

Even if earlier logic has flaws and pacing has rough spots, I let every foreshadowing, every character, every Pokemon formally meet you all and complete their full journey.

As for the time‑travel premise that runs through the whole book and the behind‑the‑scenes Ma Shu Mu thread, that was the core main line I locked in at the very start and never altered.

Even later I conceived a new idea: in a future book, Ma Shu Mu might appear again. Let the now newly ascended deity Huo La become the key foreshadowing that balances him, bestows upon him, and rewrites his destiny.

I've kept this concept, but whether the next book will use this setting or make him the protagonist remains undecided.

After rambling so much, looking back objectively, this book truly isn't perfect.

Rhythmic flaws, logical gaps, rushed plot, mediocre metrics—none of the expected problems are missing.

But I never regret persisting to finish.

Even if it's not good enough or popular enough, from start to finish it's the complete world I gritted my teeth and wrote piece by piece.

To readers, it may just be a fanfiction that doesn't even qualify as ordinary.

But to me, the year's struggle, persistence, unwillingness, and love are all hidden within these words.

The story ends, the world is complete.

Thank you to every reader who never gave up, who followed to the end; thank you for walking with me through this year's ups and downs and love.
