Chapter 64: Conjectures About the World

~6 min read 1,052 words

The pitch‑black sea surface was like a bottomless swath of ink‑colored silk, silently rippling in the night; thick fog lingered and surged over the water like ghosts, shrouding everything in a haze.

The solitary sound came from the depths of the fog, bearing the wear of ages and mystery, striking the hearts of everyone repeatedly and heavily.

As the sound drew nearer, a massive silhouette emerged on the sea, wavering between visibility and concealment.

At first it was just a vague shape within the mist, but as the waves moved slowly, it resembled an island floating on the sea.

Zheng Hui raised his high‑definition video camera high with both hands, his eyes glued to the viewfinder, missing no detail. His palms trembled slightly from nerves, his knuckles turned a stark white as he gripped the camera tightly, yet he still stared fixedly at the sea, fearing he might miss any movement of the Super Ancient Dragonite.

Huo La stood nearby, equally excited.

Compared with Zheng Hui, Ash and others, he held a deeper expectation for Ancient Pokemon.

In his previous life, the information he knew about the Pokemon World was like a shattered puzzle, riddled with gaps.

In the ancient legends of the Shen'ao Region, where chaos and flux intertwine, a mysterious egg was born; the Arceus that hatched from it created the Universe with supreme power.

The fragments that shattered at creation turned into Stone Tablets, granting all things in the world distinct powers.

Later, Arceus also created Dialga, Palkia and Giratina.

Dialga controls the flow of time, Palkia governs the structure of space, Giratina oversees the realm of anti‑matter, and at the same time the Diamond Orb, White Jade Orb and Platinum Orb came into being.

Giratina, for its wanton destruction of matter, was exiled to the Destroyed World, where it has since roamed the endless wasteland.

After completing the construction of the Pokemon World, Dialga and Palkia returned to their own realms, leaving behind this vibrant yet riddled land.

From this myth, Huo La derived two key pieces of information:

First, the specific world where Pokemon now dwell was meticulously fashioned by Dialga and Palkia after Arceus created the Universe, rather than being directly created by Arceus;

Second, beyond this known world there must exist other unknown worlds; are those worlds like the Pokemon World he now inhabits? A different world would imply…

Subsequently, Arceus created Ke Xi, Ai Mu Li Duo and Ya Ke Nuo Mu, endowing Pokemon with knowledge, emotion and will respectively, guiding them to thrive in this world.

After accomplishing all these great deeds, Arceus fell into slumber.

Time drifted on, and hundreds of millions of years ago, Rayquaza, Groudon and Kyogre burst forth. Rayquaza roamed the skies, mastering the boundless heavens; Groudon set foot on the land, ruling the vast continents; Kyogre swam the deep seas, governing the immense oceans.

Yet in this mythic record, the story suddenly encounters huge contradictions and blanks.

If we assume those hundreds of millions of years occurred immediately after Arceus, Dialga, Palkia and Giratina's creation, it could be considered a plausible developmental sequence.

However, the earliest records humanity can trace back actually begin at that very epoch.

If we suppose there was a span of time before those hundreds of millions of years, then during the long interval between creation and that era, what else transpired? This missing history is like a Black Hole, devouring countless secrets.

Moreover, Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, as well as Dialga, Palkia and Giratina each possess a primal Reversion Form and an Origin Forme.

This made Huo La wonder whether these forms are essentially the same, differing only in outward appearance, like the unique patterns on Ancient Pokemon bodies; perhaps they are merely distinguished because they bear the title of "God", setting them apart from ordinary Ancient Pokemon in form.

And Giratina, forever lurking in the Destroyed World where heaven and earth are undivided, occasionally appearing in cemetery legends, further sparked a bolder conjecture in Huo La's mind.

He suspects that the current Pokemon World may very well be a New World that Arceus forged after the original world was destroyed.

Those Ancient Pokemon might have been the first lifeforms created at the birth of the New World.

However, because Dialga controls time and Palkia controls space, in certain mysterious corners of the world, gates where time and space overlap have formed.

These Ancient Pokemon traversed these gates, crossing vast epochs, traveling from the Super Ancient era to the present, rather than merely awakening by chance after slumber.

Huo La's speculation is far from baseless; the existence of the Ultimate Abyss underpins it all—those rifts that tear Time and Space, like hidden wormholes in the fabric of the Universe, one end linking the current Pokemon World, the other reaching countless Parallel Spacetimes and Unknown Dimensions.

He even couldn't help but further hypothesize: the Paldea Region's Dr. AoLin and Dr. Futu, using the Time Machine to capture "Paradox Pokemon" from the past and future, are those truly from this world's past and future? Perhaps not.

Those Pokemon with bizarre forms and unique abilities are more likely species from other Parallel Worlds; the differing flow of time and evolutionary paths in those worlds cause them to be mistaken as "cross‑temporal paradoxes".

Just as some worlds may still linger in the Super Ancient era, with Pokemon retaining their primordial massive size and wild power; other worlds may have entered a future where technology and nature merge, and Pokemon and humans co‑evolve into entirely new modes of existence.

And the Time Machine's true function may not be "time travel" but an accidental opening of passages to these Parallel Worlds, mistakenly treating Pokemon from other worlds as "products of the past/future".

As thoughts drifted wildly with the sea breeze, the Super Ancient Dragonite on the water grew ever clearer.

Moonlight pierced the thin fog, spilling onto its massive body; its deep‑yellow skin glowed with a cold light like ancient mythril, resembling a "Time Mark" left by ages, recording its journey across vast time.

It moved through the sea, each stride raising waves several meters high, as if the entire ocean rose and fell with its motion.

A deep dragon's roar sounded again, still solitary yet bearing an ancient majesty, as if proclaiming its existence to this unfamiliar "New Era".
