Chapter 221: Arena Match!

Where there are people, there will be conflict.

Because Yang City has one of the eighteen-attribute Gyms of the Alliance, the Rising Sun Gym, stationed there, several high schools within it have received a certain resource tilt from the Alliance.

Especially Yang City High School.

As Yang City, which is ranked second in Sichuan Province in name but is actually a third or fourth-tier city in terms of overall development, the only outstanding trainer in recent years is the Fire-type Gym Leader, Su Xu.

After the Shenzhou Alliance issued the new policy, resources began to be redistributed.

The original strength of Yang City High School was not outstanding, and very few students had Pokémon with Elite-level combat power every year.

Relying entirely on the tilt of resources, Yang City High School recently even hired a veteran Professional-level trainer to serve as the battle department coach.

Yang City High School also conducted grade competitions for this reason. Besides selecting candidates for the National High School Cup, it was to screen students for the newly established battle department.

After all, the son of Gym Leader Su Xu also happened to receive his starter Pokémon at this age.

However, before the battle department coach was even in place, Gym Leader Su's son had dropped out of school to go out for training.

When Su Xu was handling the procedures for Su Hao, he only mentioned that Su Hao had gone out for training and did not mention that he was challenging Gyms.

Now that the eighteen-attribute Gym Leaders are about to move up and the new policy allows Gyms to be set up everywhere, there has been fierce debate within Sichuan Province regarding whether Yang City still enjoys resource tilt.

In the end, the plan proposed by the mayor of the largest city in Sichuan Province—Rong City—was passed by everyone except the mayor of Yang City, allowing Yang City to set up an arena at Yang City No. 1 High School to accept arena matches from key high school students of the same age arranged by Rong City.

If Yang City High School can hold the arena, the resource tilt will remain the same.

If the high school in Rong City succeeds in attacking the arena and holds it, the tilted resources will be distributed equally to all prefecture-level cities in Sichuan Province.

Just like that, May 1st, Labor Day.

Yang City High School will accept challenges from geniuses from key high schools in the first city of Sichuan Province, Rong City.

Yang City High School, Battle Department Classroom.

Zhong Li, as a veteran Professional-level trainer who had retired at home, received an invitation from the principal of Yang City High School to be the head teacher of the battle department.

For the sake of an old friend of many years, she came to Yang City High School to serve as the head teacher and coach of the Grade 12 battle department.

There were still a few good seedlings in Yang City High School.

But compared to the geniuses in big cities, she lacked confidence.

Give her some more time, and she would have the confidence to help them break through a few main Pokémon to the Elite level before the college entrance examination.

Before the Elite level, the strength improvement speed of most Pokémon with good aptitude is the fastest in their lives.

After reaching the Elite level, the promotion speed slows down, and one has to worry about the barrier of breaking through to the Professional level.

According to statistics, most students in the Shenzhou Alliance can have at least one Elite-level combat power in their team during the Grade 12 college entrance examination.

During the college entrance examination stage, the Alliance only allows the starter Pokémon received by the examinee in Grade 12 and Pokémon captured subsequently whose strength has not exceeded the Elite level to appear.

This prevents Pokémon cultivated by big families from childhood from appearing in the college entrance examination, and many students from ordinary families also have the opportunity to transform into dragons and phoenixes.

Zhong Li scanned the battle department students in the training ground; there were exactly fifty people.

Among them, the seedlings she was optimistic about and who could appear in the arena match were only Kong Lingwei, Jiang Chengcheng, Li Hua, Wen Hao, and He Xu.

Psychic Kong Lingwei, she studied under a Gym-tier trainer who also possessed psychic powers. Her current main forces are early Elite-level Xatu and Gardevoir, and late Normal-level Duosion.

Jiang Chengcheng, the inheritor of the Flowing Water school, it is said that she once lost to Kong Lingwei, but even Zhong Li couldn't judge who was stronger between the two now.

Her main forces are early Elite-level Machamp and early Elite-level Pangoro, as well as a late Normal-level Jangmo-o.

Although Li Hua, this kid, is a bit unreliable, his strength is actually quite good. His main forces are early Elite-level Corviknight and Altaria.

A month ago, he received a Charmander egg from that classmate who had never come to school, and it hatched the next day. Now it is a late Normal-level Charmeleon.

He Xu has early Elite-level

Serperior and late Normal-level Roserade and Cherrim.

The last one, Wen Hao, has early Elite-level Blastoise, and late Normal-level Pinsir and Ludicolo.

"This arena match is highly valued by the school and even the city. Do you have the confidence to win?" Zhong Li called these five people aside and asked.

Li Hua complained: "Sister Li, it's not a question of whether we have confidence. Although it seems that we and the other side both have Elite-level Pokémon as combat power, the other side has three or four Elite-level Pokémon for each person. They could exhaust us to death."

According to the information specifically collected by Yang City High School, ten Grade 12 students from Rong City No. 1 High School came to Yang City High School for an "exchange arena match".

Among the ten Grade 12 students from Rong City No. 1 High School, five have one Elite-level Pokémon, three have two Elite-level Pokémon, and two have three...... and four.

Fortunately, everyone is at the early Elite-level combat power, so it's not like they can't fight at all.

However, Yang City High School only has these five people with Elite-level combat power......

Zhong Li said angrily: "Don't be disrespectful. Now let's arrange the order of appearance!"

If it could be delayed until before the college entrance examination, she could still teach a few Grade 12 students with Elite-level combat power, but now she had only been in office for about two months; it's difficult.

Five o'clock in the afternoon, school dismissal time.

Li Hua and Jiang Chengcheng walked together, preparing to go home.

After growing up, their respective families also moved out of the residential area where they lived when they were young. Now Jiang Chengcheng's family lives in the dojo, Li Hua's family lives in an apartment, and Su Hao lives in a villa area on the edge of Yang City.

Fate is always wonderful; the three of them have been in the same school and the same class from childhood to adulthood.

Jiang Chengcheng was wearing a single ponytail today, looking simple and capable.

She tilted her head and asked: "Did you ask when Su Hao is coming back?"

According to the contact some time ago, she remembered that Su Hao should have already headed to the fourth Gym.

Li Hua pondered for a moment, took out his phone, looked at the chat history, and said: "He said he is already on his way back."

"Oh, right, he has already captured his fourth Pokémon, a very cute shiny Dreepy."

Li Hua clicked into Su Hao's Moments and flipped to the selfie Su Hao posted a few days ago.

The composition of the photo is very simple: the handsome boy with black hair and golden eyes is standing under Ice Feather Mountain, with a cute Dreepy lying on his head.

"Hmm...... come to think of it, I didn't notice it at the time."

"Did he wear colored contact lenses?"

Jiang Chengcheng leaned closer to the phone Li Hua was holding and examined it carefully.

She had also seen Su Hao's Moments at the time. Looking at it again now, she realized that Su Hao's eyes had changed from brown to gold at some point?
