Chapter 48: First Opponent

Starting today, Yang City High School will hold a two-day senior year competition.

The competition venue was set on the school playground.

Just like the sports meetings held by various schools before crossing over, besides the referee teachers, the divided battle venues were surrounded by senior students who were not scheduled to battle.

Many first and second-year students were also led by teachers to watch the battle.

Returning to the competition field, the opponent Su Hao met in the first round was a girl from Class 6.

Su Hao and the girl threw their Poké Balls at the same time.

Two red lights flashed, and Torracat and an Oddish appeared on the battle field.

Su Hao could now roughly judge the opponent's strength through the aura emitted by the opponent's Pokémon through Aura power.

It was an entry-level Oddish.

It seemed that the girl didn't intend to specialize in battles, and this Oddish was particularly flustered when it saw Torracat.

"Battle start!" Following the referee teacher's order, the first battle officially started.

Torracat's current strength was too easy to deal with Oddish.

"Torracat, use Fury Swipes."

"Meow-ao!"

After Torracat rushed from the edge of the field to Oddish, the girl who was a little dazed reacted.

"Oddish... quick... quick dodge to the right!"

Well-trained Pokémon might be able to react when they are a step slower, but this Oddish was clearly not.

Oddish, who had no combat experience at all, naturally had no resistance to Torracat, who was attacking, and lost.

Seeing Oddish get one-shot by Torracat in a single exchange, the girl did not send out a second Pokémon; after surrendering, she hurriedly picked up Oddish and ran with small steps toward the Pokémon Center doctor who was stationed nearby.

There were more than a thousand senior students in Yang City High School, and the ones Su Hao met on the first day were all people without battle experience.

These students probably wouldn't choose to take the university entrance exam for the Pokémon Battle Department either.

The next day, after the first day's elimination, the top 32 had been decided.

Su Hao, Li Hua, Jiang Chengcheng, and He Xu, who sat in front of Su Hao, all entered the top 32.

After the top 32, the school moved the battle venue to the battle venue in the Rising Sun Dojo.

At this time, the spectator seats were full of students watching the battle.

In front of the spectator seats, an awards podium was set up, and the school's leaders and Su Xu were sitting on the awards podium.

Su Xu had told Su Hao in advance, so Su Hao was not surprised why his dad came to watch the battle.

The big screen in the venue displayed the names of 32 students, and after being shuffled and assigned, the first round of the battle schedule was decided.

Su Hao was the third match, battling a boy named Fang Wenbin from Class 3.

After the winners of the first two matches were decided, it was Su Hao's turn to appear.

Ms. Liang repeatedly urged Su Hao in the preparation area to be calm and deal with the enemy.

Su Hao naturally nodded and agreed.

Both sides were in position on the battle field.

Without communication, both sides directly sent out their first Pokémon.

"Go, Torracat."

"Go, Primeape!"

Pokémon like Primeape generally only evolve after Mankey breaks through to the Normal-level, but Fang Wenbin's Mankey evolved at the entry-level, which surprised Su Hao a little.

Pokémon: 【Primeape】

Type: 【Fighting】

Gender: 【♂】

Ability: 【Vital Spirit】
