Chapter 448: Evolution, A Brand-New Species!

"Hurry and let it evolve; let me see what an Axe Mantis looks like?"

"Are you stupid? If I let it evolve now, even if we win first place in the competition, do you think the organizers would be willing to hand it over?"

That's right. If it truly evolves into a brand-new species as Bai Jing said, the organizers will definitely try to block it, because a brand-new evolutionary form is extremely precious.

"Then what do we do?"

"Let's go out first!"

At five o'clock, time was up, and over a hundred people walked out one after another.

"Students, wait a moment; I'll show you something good!"

"Brother Bai, what good news do you have?"

At Magic Capital University, Bai Jing commanded immediate attention; everyone gathered around him!

Bai Jing released the Scyther!

"It's a Scyther; among Bug-type Pokémon, it is indeed quite good!"

"Envious; I only caught one Butterfree!"

"Mine is a Parasect."

"So, Brother Bai, you want to show us this Scyther?"

"Students, please be patient!"

Bai Jing asked the host, "Are you certain that winning first place means we gain full ownership of that Pokémon?"

The host nodded. "That is natural; our rules have always been this way, and we have never broken our word."

"That's good! I just wanted to ask, can I evolve it?"

"Uh... this..."

"Rest assured; if I don't win first place, consider it a bargain for you. If I do win first place, you must keep your promise."

"That is certainly true!"

The host laughed; was this person an idiot or did he have absolute confidence? A Metal Coat was extremely precious, yet he was using it to gamble like this.

Well, he mistakenly thought Bai Jing wanted to evolve the Scyther into a Scizor.

"Fine, those are your words; everyone here is witness!"

Bai Jing took out the Black Strange Stone and said, "Students, if you are lucky enough to find this kind of stone, never throw it away; it is a precious item that allows a Scyther to evolve."

"Huh? Brother Bai, what kind of stone is this? Doesn't a Scyther need a Metal Coat to evolve?"

Bai Jing explained, "A Metal Coat evolves it into a Scizor, while this Black Strange Stone evolves it into an Axe Mantis."

"Axe Mantis? What the heck?"

"Why have we never heard of this?"

"Does such a Pokémon really exist?"

Bai Jing smiled proudly. "Currently, no, but there will be one soon, and it will be the very first one in the world."

"Students, the time to witness a miracle has arrived!"

Bai Jing handed the Black Strange Stone to the Scyther. "Evolve! Let the world see your other form!"

Amidst everyone's amazed gazes, the light of evolution enveloped the Scyther.

"It really is!"

"So this is a species never discovered before?"

"An Axe Mantis? What will it look like?"

"I'm so excited!"

The light faded, and the Axe Mantis made a dazzling entrance!

Its body turned to rock, its two scythes became two large axes, and its overall appearance became very rugged.

If the Scyther and the Scizor were cool warriors, then the Axe Mantis was a berserker.

"Wow~ It really is a new species!"

"This is the Axe Mantis; what a novel appearance!"

"Although not as handsome as the Scizor, it looks more explosive!"

"Most importantly, this is the very first one in the world!"

The students were extremely excited because they were witnessing the birth of a new species; they were witnessing history.

One by one, they took out their phones to take photos, even group shots, and eagerly posted them on their Moments to show off.
