Chapter 208: The Path to the Supreme Divine Ancestor
"Withdraw. Qunti'er need not kneel like this anymore; simply speak of how your Supreme Path should be walked."
Li Mo signaled.
"Yes."
"Yes."
Jieyin withdrew. Qunti'er's spirit shook; he immediately rose, bowed respectfully, and said, "I implore the Dao Lord to guide me on the Supreme Path."
"Your Dao and Jieyin's stem from the same lineage. Jieyin's Dao can be said to be a branch of yours. It should be the Great Dao of Spirit, also called the Great Dao of Soul."
"If we speak of the Supreme, it is the Supreme Qunti'er Route, or the Path of the Supreme Divine Ancestor."
'Spirit' means soul and life. If one is a Divine Ancestor, then the thoughts and desires of all living beings are within your grasp. With a single thought, you can evolve through eternity; with a single thought, you can cross the eternal."
"Boundless heavens, myriad worlds of creation—whatever exists is within your spiritual connection. All souls are generated by you; you are the ruler of all beings."
"This is the Path of the Supreme Divine Ancestor."
After a moment of consideration, Li Mo spoke slowly.
The Path of the Supreme Divine Ancestor!
Qunti'er's eyes brightened, his breathing quickened. His mood involuntarily grew tense, and his emotions surged with excitement.
The Supreme Path!
The Supreme Path that belongs to him!
He had just witnessed with his own eyes how incredibly awesome Jieyin's Supreme Path was.
If Jieyin's is that awesome, how could his be any weaker?
It must be terrifyingly powerful, overwhelmingly strong beyond imagination!
"I implore the Dao Lord to bestow the method."
Without another word, Qunti'er bowed again and shouted loudly.
"I ask you: since you uphold the Great Dao of Spirit, how do you cultivate in your daily life, and have you felt anything special?"
Li Mo said slowly.
"Cultivate? Special?"
Qunti'er's expression stiffened slightly. Did he, like his senior brother, also take the wrong path? Otherwise, why did these words sound so similar?
"I report to the Dao Lord: I usually perceive and strengthen the Great Dao of Spirit just like ordinary people. As for anything special..."
Anxious, Qunti'er spoke while pondering: "There are two things I do not know if they count as special. First, among my disciples, the more they believe in me, or the more they revere me, the more I receive a portion of spiritual power in return."
"Second, for anyone who is more devout, more trusting, or more reverent toward me, if they pray in their hearts and call my name, I will sense it through some mysterious connection, and I can also give a response through that mysterious connection."
Having spoken, Qunti'er looked hopefully at Li Mo, waiting for Li Mo's reply.
"That is sufficient. In fact, you have already stepped onto a part of the Supreme Path yourself; you simply did not know it. If you delve deeper, you may have a chance to reach the height of Resurrect Pangu. Though the difficulty is very high, there is a sliver of hope."
Li Mo nodded slightly and said.
"!!!"
Qunti'er was stunned.
"!!!"
Jieyin, who was contemplating his own Dao, suddenly raised his head and looked at Qunti'er.
Is my junior brother that awesome?
By exploring on his own, he actually stepped onto a tiny bit of the Supreme Path?
My junior brother Qunti'er truly has the potential of the Great Dao!
"I am somewhat confused; please guide me out of this maze, Dao Lord."
Swallowing hard, Qunti'er spoke with a trembling voice.
"The Supreme means the highest status, the highest authority, holding the root of a Great Dao. This is the Supreme."
"The two abilities you obtained are merely simplified extensions of authority, yet they have already touched some karmic connection with authority. Unfortunately, the path you walk is ultimately too low, and your vision is too narrow; thus, you have not developed this path to its fullest."
Li Mo shook his head and said.
Qunti'er understood clearly. He knew himself well enough; compared to this person, his own scope was as small as it could possibly be. The Supreme Path?
Even if given billions of eons, he could never walk it; at best, he would only linger at the threshold.
"You take Spirit as your Dao, perceiving the Great Dao of Spirit to elevate yourself. The core of the Great Dao of Spirit is the evolution of Primordial Spirit and soul."
"Since that is so, why do you not condense a Dharma Image from the Great Dao of Spirit, thereby establishing the foundation and extension of the Great Dao of Spirit?"
Without further mystery, Li Mo spoke slowly.
"Dharma Image?"
Qunti'er pondered. Though he felt a vague stirring in his heart, he remained mostly bewildered and confused.
"A Dharma Image is condensed from the Great Dao of Spirit. You may understand it as the manifestation of the Great Dao of Spirit. Furthermore, the Dharma Image is an extension of the mind. Theoretically, the stronger the spirit, the stronger the Dharma Image can be."
Li Mo said leisurely.
"Spirit..."
Qunti'er's expression changed. A sense of realization gradually surfaced, yet it was too incredible, too terrifying and vast, so Qunti'er found it hard to believe his own judgment.
After all, if it were truly so, that would be utterly insane.
"Dao Lord, what you mean is..."
Qunti'er swallowed hard and spoke with a trembling voice.
"Use your own visualization to construct a Demon God, or a Deity. Spirit becomes reality; it manifests reality, similar to Jieyin."
"Take it as the source of all things, the ruler of everything. The more powerful your imagination is, the more powerful He can be."
Li Mo said slowly.
"Dao Lord, do you mean I can imagine He is as powerful as I wish, for example, Supreme or something?"
Zhunti spoke with a dry mouth and parched throat.
"Correct, but at the beginning, it is best not to set too powerful a domain or strength, otherwise the time required to achieve that would be too long."
"For example, you may first visualize your Dharma-Image as originally supreme, then severely injured and starting from scratch, such as possessing immortality or other domains, and begin from there."
"The stronger your mental power, the faster your Dharma-Image will grow."
"The Dharma-Image is formed from your mental Dao; it is itself a Dao, so it can naturally nourish back, and you need not cultivate anymore to grow stronger endlessly."
Li Mo said calmly.
"This seems to lack some medium?"
After thinking for a moment, Zhunti spoke hesitantly.
"Correct, a medium is missing, and this medium is your believers, or rather, your disciples under your command."
"If living beings revere you, they generate faith or vow power; this vow power, through the mental Dao, can nourish back to the Dharma-Image, and thus the Dharma-Image can produce origin power to nourish back to yourself."
"The thoughts of living beings, or of all sentient beings, possess unimaginable power, through which the false can become true and the void can become real."
"Without living beings, even if you condense a Dharma-Image, it is merely a dead and empty thing; but if there is faith from living beings, then the Dharma-Image can grow; they are intimately connected."
"Therefore, you must remember: if you wish your path to the supreme to go further, you must take good care of your people and disciples; only by making them sincerely believe in you can this be achieved; if you forcibly convert them, it will lose its effect."
