Chapter 14: A Clean Break with the Buddhist Sect
Deep within the Heavenly Court.
Haotian also learned the news about Ksitigarbha falling into the demonic path, which surprised him somewhat.
"Ksitigarbha has fallen into the demonic path," Haotian muttered to himself. "In other words, that shocking demonic energy just now was Ksitigarbha."
Ksitigarbha's status within the Buddhist sect, although not comparable to Guanyin, was known to many great powers.
After all, he was also a Quasi-Saint powerhouse.
It was just that there was still a large gap between Ksitigarbha's strength and that of truly top-tier powerhouses like Haotian, Zhenyuanzi, and Tathagata.
Now, Haotian had a great interest in Ksitigarbha.
"Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, why have you fallen into the demonic path?" Haotian's eyes radiated light.
As a Bodhisattva, it was truly too difficult to fall into the demonic path.
And his fall was not an ordinary one; he had entered directly into the Demon Dao.
In history, only the Demon Ancestor Luohou had entered the true Demon Dao; now, there was one more, Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
"Buddhist sect, let's see how you handle this," Haotian laughed.
Regarding this Great Calamity of the Buddhist sect, Haotian had a feeling it would become very interesting.
……………………
Lingshan, not far from the Great Lei Yinsi.
A Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva wearing a kasaya was slowly heading toward this place.
Just as Ksitigarbha had said before, it was time to make a clean break with the grievances between him and the Buddhist sect.
And there was one more point.
There were many things in the grocery store, and as Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, he could only be considered a pauper; the Great Lei Yinsi had many good things.
It could be said that Sun Wukong and Ksitigarbha, who had entered the grocery store and gained harvests, were both somewhat blinded by greed.
Sun Wukong went to the Heavenly Court prepared to scrape up the treasures of the Heavenly Court.
Ksitigarbha was prepared to seize the treasures of the Great Lei Yinsi.
After all, over these years, he had still brought much help to the Buddhist sect.
Under the vow that "Hell is not empty, I will not become a Buddha," he had contributed a lot of fortune to the Buddhist sect.
"Lingshan Great Lei Yinsi, I have arrived." Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva looked at the Lingshan mountain before him, which was emanating seven-colored light, and the Great Lei Yinsi, a massive building looming in the mountain.
It could be said that since he had been guarding the underworld, he had not been here for a long time.
"Tathagata, come out." Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva stood in the void and spoke.
The voice was deafening.
"Boom, boom, boom..."
Figures emanating golden light were projected from Lingshan one after another, each figure carrying shocking Buddha light.
There were Arhats, Bodhisattvas, and Buddhas...
"That is..." The Dragon-Subduing Arhat looked at the figure in the distance, his pupils shrinking.
As the head of the Eighteen Arhats, he recognized this person; it was Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva.
But wasn't Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva guarding the underworld?
Why would he suddenly appear at Lingshan and directly address the Buddha by name?
However, facing Ksitigarbha, it was not for him, as an Arhat, to inquire, because Bodhisattvas had also emerged from Lingshan.
Guanyin Bodhisattva was a Bodhisattva not inferior to Ksitigarbha.
In the mortal world, Guanyin Bodhisattva's believers could truly be said to be number one.
"Ksitigarbha." Guanyin Bodhisattva stepped on a lotus and appeared here. "You are not guarding the underworld; why have you come to Lingshan? And you actually address the Buddha by name."
"Guanyin." Ksitigarbha laughed. "What, you don't welcome me to Lingshan?"
"Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, you jest." Guanyin shook her head. "Lingshan is always open to you, but there are still many evil beings in the underworld. Ksitigarbha, Guanyin admires your great vow."
"Hmph." Ksitigarbha said lightly, "Guanyin, I have a question for you."
"Please speak."
"As the dignified Guanyin Bodhisattva, I hear your incense in the human world is extremely prosperous. So, what have you done for humanity?" Ksitigarbha asked.
"Ksitigarbha, for humanity, as immortals, we only need to give alms occasionally. Why would we need to do anything else?" Guanyin shook her head.
It could be said that whether it was the immortals of the Heavenly Court or these Bodhisattvas and Arhats of the Buddhist sect, many could not shake off their high-and-mighty attitude.
It was precisely because of this.
Humanity, as the protagonist of this world, was extremely weak.
Back then, the Dragon, Phoenix, and Qilin, and even the Wu and Demon races, as the protagonists of heaven and earth, were extremely powerful.
This was completely incomparable to the humans of today.
The immortals and gods only wanted to obtain the fortune of humanity as the protagonist. ===== CHAPTER 27 =====
During the Investiture of the Gods, many in the human dynasties were disciples of various sects, possessing powerful strength.
But after the Investiture of the Gods, the status of humanity declined more and more.
The immortals and gods became truly high and mighty.
Perhaps this was also the reason why the Heavenly Court and the Buddhist sect acted as the pushers.
But regarding this point, Ksitigarbha expressed his disagreement, especially after reading *Seeking the Demon*.
"Is that so?" Ksitigarbha was noncommittal. "Guanyin, regarding this point, I do not agree, and you all must think I am a fool."
"How could that be?" Guanyin was stunned for a moment.
"When I was guarding the underworld, while you few Bodhisattvas and Arhats were spreading faith in the human world, did my incense still exist?" Ksitigarbha said slowly.
Regarding this point, when he left the underworld, Ksitigarbha naturally investigated it.
In the human world, there was no longer any faith in Ksitigarbha.
His time in the underworld was completely in vain.
It was entirely helping the Buddhist sect, and like a fool, without complaint or regret.
Instead, it could be said that other members of the Buddhist sect had benefited.
"This..." Guanyin was speechless.
Because what Ksitigarbha said was indeed true.
In the human world today, these Bodhisattvas and Arhats had prosperous incense, but as for Ksitigarbha, there were probably not many who remembered him.
"And this time, regarding the Buddhist sect's Great Calamity, you are obtaining merit and fortune, but I am not, right? You never discussed these things with me."
"Only I, foolishly converting evil ghosts, obtaining merit and fortune for the Buddhist sect..."
As Ksitigarbha continued to speak, Guanyin's expression turned ugly.
"Ksitigarbha, we are all for the Buddhist sect," Guanyin shook her head.
"The Buddhist sect?" Ksitigarbha laughed disdainfully. "It should be said that only I was working for your so-called Buddhist sect. You, Manjushri, Samantabhadra, and even the Buddha Tathagata, are all working to improve your own strength."
"Guanyin, you were originally a member of the Chan Sect, and even the Buddha Tathagata was a disciple of the Jie Sect. Do you truly have the heart of a Buddha?"
"Today, I, Ksitigarbha, defect from the Buddhist sect and make a clean break with it." ===== CHAPTER 28 =====
