Chapter 1855
Guanyin Bodhisattva did not go to persuade Tianpeng anymore. Perhaps, even if it were obtaining the Western Scriptures, one must follow the wishes of the travelers themselves.
The Bodhisattva turned around gracefully and said indifferently, "Then come with me; I will lead the way in front."
Tang Seng and General Juan Lian looked at each other and immediately followed.
Marshal Tianpeng had originally been carrying his Nine-Toothed Rake and intended to fly away, but when he looked back, the clouds surrounding Guanyin Bodhisattva, for some reason, faintly revealed some firelight as she turned.
"What is going on?" Marshal Tianpeng wondered in his heart and secretly said, "The Bodhisattva's body should only have five-colored auspicious light. Why does that light look so intense? It looks just like flames."
The Bodhisattva flew forward, stepping on clouds all the way. Tang Seng rode the White Dragon Horse, and General Juan Lian carried the luggage, following closely behind.
Marshal Tianpeng ultimately felt something was not right. Although he looked down on Tang Seng from the bottom of his heart, let alone General Juan Lian, they had been traveling West for so long—it would be a lie to say there were no feelings between them.
Thus, he turned and leaped, chasing after the direction Tang Seng and the others had gone.
"Second Senior Brother, didn't you say you were quitting? Why did you come back?"
General Juan Lian saw Marshal Tianpeng chasing after them, a look of confusion appearing on his face as he said.
"What, I don't want to leave now—is that not allowed?"
Marshal Tianpeng glared at him and then said loudly.
Guanyin Bodhisattva in front saw Marshal Tianpeng following and turned her head to give him a faint smile.
The few traveled through the dense forest and, after crossing three mountains in succession, it was already evening. At this time, they saw a high mountain blocking their way in front, and on the mountainside, there was indeed a small temple.
The master and disciples followed Guanyin Bodhisattva to the front of this temple and saw golden Sanskrit characters floating all around the temple.
"Jin Chanzi, you master and disciples can rest assured. With my spell seal here, no matter what demon comes tonight, they will not be able to get close, and even that ten-thousand-year-old great demon cannot break it."
Guanyin Bodhisattva turned around, smiling as she looked at them.
Tang Seng looked up at this small temple. The temple was not large, but the four brick walls were still relatively intact. Some yellow wall plaster had peeled off, and some ivy had climbed up the sunny side.
And the temple gate was wide open, with a black iron incense burner inside, from which wisps of blue smoke were drifting.
Tang Seng dismounted, put his hands together, gave a slight nod, and said, "Amitabha."
Then Tang Seng looked at Guanyin Bodhisattva again, his eyes filled with gratitude, and said, "Thank you for your trouble, Bodhisattva."
Guanyin Bodhisattva smiled slightly and said faintly, "Whether you succeed in obtaining the scriptures or not relates to the Kalpa of the Western Heaven, so this is as it should be."
Subsequently, Guanyin Bodhisattva didn't say anything more, but led everyone to walk into the interior of the temple together.
Marshal Tianpeng walked at the very back, his eyes always filled with suspicion.
Logically, this temple looked like an ordinary mountain temple, perhaps the residence of some reclusive high monk.
It was just that the layout of this temple was somewhat strange. He saw that in the position of the main Mahavira Hall in the center, there were three golden statues of Rulai.
Marshal Tianpeng had met Rulai in person and had also seen statues of Rulai in too many temples.
