Chapter 1913: I Am Not Rulai
Fahai looked at the little monk, a hint of mockery on his face, and said, "I have nothing to do with your Rulai. I believe in the Buddhist scriptures, not Rulai."
When the little monk heard this, he immediately appeared extremely confused and puzzled. He frowned and said, "Isn't Rulai Buddha the Buddhist scriptures? Weren't these scriptures written by Rulai Buddha?"
Fahai looked at him with that same smile. He didn't want to discuss this issue anymore, but seeing the piety in the little monk's eyes, he said, "It is true that the scriptures were written by Rulai, but Rulai has private desires. He lets the monks of the world follow the scriptures he wrote, while he himself follows them when he wants to, and doesn't when he doesn't."
The little monk was completely dumbfounded. He never expected that the big monk in front of him could say such things that defied the world.
"That's not true at all, it's not like that. The Buddha teaches his followers, and I have always believed in him deeply. You big monk, you are just talking nonsense."
The little monk scratched his bald head, stunned for a long while, and then he suddenly argued.
Fahai smiled and said, "How old were you when you became a monk? How many years have you believed in Buddha? Have you ever seen Rulai?"
The little monk stared at him blankly. "I have been in the temple since I was in swaddling clothes, sent by my mother. I am now twenty-four. The Abbot says that if one is sincere in Zen, one day, the Buddha will manifest."
"That means you haven't seen Rulai to this day, right?"
The smile on Fahai's face clearly carried some disdain as he spoke. ===== CHAPTER 1915 =====
