Chapter 1915: Entering Chechi Kingdom

~4 min read 649 words

Fahai had read Buddhist scriptures since he was young. The Diamond Sutra, the Heart Sutra, the Ksitigarbha Sutra—there wasn't a single scripture he couldn't recite backward. It was just that the Buddha probably let people follow the scriptures to attain the Dao while hiding his own private desires.

Fahai didn't care about these things. In Fahai's heart, he had his own sense of good and evil. As long as it was a demon or ghost harming the world, he had to eliminate it. He didn't believe in "reforming" them; evil is evil. As for "good and evil will eventually be rewarded," the Buddha was probably asleep, so Fahai would do it himself.

In this small market, seeing the smoke and fire of the mortal world, the onlookers were now looking at Tang Seng and his group with shock on their faces.

What they couldn't believe was that Fahai had actually defeated the Third State Preceptor, and even more unbelievable was that they dared to challenge the prestige of Chechi Kingdom and the Daoist Dharma of the Three Pure Ones.

"Little Master, are you going to travel with us, or are you going to follow your fellow disciples?"

Tang Seng lowered his head and looked at this monk, saying.

"Forget it, I won't travel with you. I feel that this big-browed monk is not a true monk. Besides, Chechi Kingdom is too dangerous. I won't go back, and I advise you not to go in either."

The little monk pressed his palms together, lowered his head slightly, and said.

After speaking, the little monk didn't look back and turned to walk quickly away along the narrow mountain path behind him.

"Are they going to enter Chechi Kingdom?"

"That big-browed monk just now had powerful magic, but facing the three State Preceptors, I don't think he has a chance of winning."

"That monkey is also very powerful, and there's that pig-head next to him. The other big monk with a full beard hasn't even made a move. I feel this group is not simple. Where did they come from?"

"No matter where they came from, since they are monks, as long as they enter Chechi Kingdom, they'll have a hard time, especially since they injured the Third State Preceptor and so many government officials."

Sun Wukong's ears twitched twice. His hearing was excellent, and he had clearly heard the words of these onlookers.

According to what they said, this Chechi Kingdom should have three State Preceptors. Since the Third State Preceptor was a demon, the other two should be as well.

Tang Seng rode the white horse, walking at the very front, and said leisurely, "Alright, let's hurry on our way."

Sun Wukong and Fahai looked at each other and followed, then General Wujing and Zhu Bajie followed as well.

After walking about three miles along a small path, they saw a tall city gate ahead, built of cyan bricks. On both sides of the gate stood two soldiers clad in armor, each holding a long spear.

On the city wall, three large characters were carved: "Chechi Kingdom."

"Master Xuanzang, do you intend to just go in like this? Do you think you can get in?"

Fahai suddenly raised his head and shouted toward Tang Seng in front.

Tang Seng turned to look at Fahai, a flash of thought crossing his eyes. Indeed, he had a general understanding of the situation just now; this country was one that rejected monks. As for the reason, he still didn't know it very clearly.

"Master Fahai has reminded me. Then what should we do?"

Tang Seng looked at Fahai and said lightly.

"I think we should disguise ourselves. You, me, and General Wujing look like monks, and Wukong and Zhu Bajie look strange. Entering Chechi Kingdom like this is too eye-catching."

Fahai rolled his eyes a few times and said. ===== CHAPTER 1917 =====
