Chapter 2433: A Buddhist Pagoda

~4 min read 642 words

What Wu Feng did not know, however, was that his great name was already known throughout the Three Realms!

After finishing his work, Wu Feng suddenly thought of Sun Wukong and the others. He sat in his chair, picked up the Mirror of Observation, and channeled his mental power, immediately revealing the group traveling west.

At this moment, Tang Seng was riding the White Dragon Horse, stopped before a city gate. Standing beside him were Sun Wukong, Fahai, Marshal Tianpeng, and General Juan Lian.

Before them was a long city wall built of blue bricks. On the city gate hung a plaque, and upon it were written three large, flourishing characters: Jisaiguo.

The travelers looked at each other, then walked toward the city gate.

A wide thoroughfare extended from within the gate, and the flow of people upon it was endless. It was clear that Jisaiguo was an extremely prosperous nation.

The arrival of Tang Seng and his group did not attract much attention; evidently, the people of this country were long accustomed to outsiders.

Stepping through the gate, two guards holding spears and clad in armor stood at the entrance. They were acting leisurely and did not step forward to question them.

Subsequently, the travelers entered the city of Jisaiguo. What met their eyes was a scene of full prosperity: within the vast and expansive city stood magnificent towers and pavilions, with wine banners fluttering.

The main roads in this city were accessible in all directions and were exceptionally bustling. The common people were mostly dressed in luxurious clothing, showing that this country was extremely wealthy.

Tang Seng rode on the White Dragon Horse, moving through the crowded streets, his gaze fixed forward and his expression extremely calm.

Marshal Tianpeng, however, was like a curious baby, looking now at a vendor selling candied haws, then at one selling roasted meat. Of course, what he looked at most were the various beauties passing by.

Sun Wukong caught sight of his behavior at a glance. He grabbed Marshal Tianpeng by his large ear and said, "You fool! What are you looking at? You are called Bajie, yet you cannot abstain from anything?"

Marshal Tianpeng grimaced in pain, looked at Sun Wukong, and begged for mercy repeatedly, "Eldest Senior Brother, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts!"

"I was just looking out of curiosity, I have absolutely no other thoughts!"

Sun Wukong tilted his head, leaned down, looked into Marshal Tianpeng's eyes, and said, "Is that really so?"

Marshal Tianpeng stammered; Sun Wukong's grip on his ear was not light. He said, "Of course it's true!"

"If it's a lie, may I be struck by the five thunders!"

Seeing his earnest expression, Sun Wukong lost interest. He released his ear and said, "That line again!"

"You fool, every time you swear, it's this same line. If the God of Thunder in the sky could hear you, you would have been struck hundreds of times by now!"

Marshal Tianpeng rubbed his ear, which had been pinched sore by Sun Wukong, a look of grievance in his eyes as he said, "It really is true, yet you still don't believe me."

Just as Sun Wukong and Marshal Tianpeng were bickering, Fahai slightly raised his head and looked toward the distant view of the towers, where a Buddhist pagoda stood tall among them, particularly conspicuous.

At this moment, Tang Seng suddenly spoke, "Wukong, Bajie, it seems this country also believes in Buddhism. We shall follow our custom of bowing to the Buddha when we see a temple and sweeping the pagoda when we see one. After we pay our respects to the King, let us go sweep the pagoda together!"

Only then did Sun Wukong notice the white pagoda standing tall under the bright sun, shining particularly conspicuously. He said indifferently, "Very well, Master!" ===== CHAPTER 2435 =====
