Chapter 929: Now, he was caught in the midst of a Great Tribulation

It could be said that ever since Yuan Shoucheng was chosen as the one to face the tribulation, he had already become like prey fallen into a spider's web.

No matter how he struggled, he could not escape this maze.

Originally, the plan of the Western Fomen was to set a trap, letting the Jinghe Long Wang and Yuan Shoucheng clash, thereby forcing the Heaven Realm to step in and execute the Jinghe Long Wang.

However, the Heaven Realm had now fallen out with the Western Fomen and had initiated its own Eastward Journey plan.

Therefore, the Heaven Realm naturally would not choose to cooperate with the Western Fomen; in fact, they were highly vigilant, to the point that there had been no rain in Changancheng for an entire year.

Consequently, having no other choice, the Western Fomen had to alter the plan, which led to the Jinghe Long Wang taking it upon himself to execute a Heaven Realm official.

Under these circumstances, even if the Heaven Realm did not wish to enter into the Western Fomen's scheme, they had no choice but to execute the Jinghe Long Wang to maintain their own dignity.

"Now, your act of executing the Turtle Chancellor must have already reached the ears of the Heaven Realm; perhaps the Heavenly Soldiers and Generals are already on their way to apprehend you."

"Once you are taken to the Heaven Realm, the Jinghe Long Wang's life will be hanging by a thread. The only way to survive lies with the current Emperor of our Great Tang."

Yuan Shoucheng spoke of the Tang Huang Li Shimin at this moment.

"Oh? I do not understand why my life would be in the hands of a mortal emperor."

The Jinghe Long Wang did not understand the significance of Yuan Shoucheng's suggestion.

After all, in his view, having committed such a grave error, the only way to avoid this death tribulation was to seek out some high immortal or great god in the Heaven Realm.

He would need to persuade them to plead his case before the Jade Emperor, thereby sparing his own life.

"Since you are also a Heaven Realm official, how can you not know that killing a Heaven Realm official without authorization is a capital crime?"

"If this matter had not been exposed, it would be easy to resolve—merely a matter of sending some gifts and handling it discreetly. But once it is known, it is a crime of heaven-shaking proportions. Never mind a lowly Jinghe Long Wang like you, even Erlang Shen Yang Jian or Taibai Jinxing would have to drink the cup of regret here."

Yuan Shoucheng was not ignorant of the Heaven Realm; on the contrary, he was very clear about it.

However, this was clearly not the time to show off, so Yuan Shoucheng brushed past it with a single sentence and then explained:

"Do you know that once you are captured and taken to the Heaven Realm, tomorrow at the hour of the Horse (noon), it will be the day of your execution?"

"Daoist Yuan, it cannot be that fast, can it? Even for killing a Heaven Realm envoy, one would not be executed so quickly, let alone for a mere Jinghe Turtle Chancellor!"

For a moment, the Jinghe Long Wang could not believe what Yuan Shoucheng said.

"Jinghe Long Wang, it seems you have not yet recognized the situation. We are both people caught in the tribulation, and a death tribulation at that. How could they possibly grant you so much time?"

"Ah—"

The Jinghe Long Wang was still being harmed by his own inertia, to the point that he had forgotten he was now in the midst of a Great Tribulation.

"I ask that Daoist Yuan explain in detail; I will have no more doubts now."

"You must understand that tomorrow at noon, the person responsible for the beheading will be our Great Tang Chancellor, Wei Zheng. If you can obtain a favor from the Great Tang Huang to ensure Wei Zheng cannot leave to fulfill his duty at the Heaven Realm tomorrow at noon, your death tribulation will be averted."

Yuan Shoucheng detailed exactly why the Tang Huang Li Shimin held the life of a Jinghe Long Wang in his hands.

"But if it does not succeed, this time next year will be your death anniversary. As for your daughter..." ===== CHAPTER 931 =====
