Chapter 1280

~6 min read 1,188 words

Compared to the entire Heavens and Myriad Worlds, the Chaotic Void is merely a slightly larger world.

Since the Hunyuan world will perish, the Chaotic Void will perish as well.

But compared to the Hunyuan world, the lifespan of the Chaotic Void is far longer.

So long that even if a Hunyuan Da Luo Dao Jinxian perishes, it is still hard to witness the destruction of the Chaotic Void.

Not to mention Hunyuan Da Luo Dao Jinxian—even a Heaven Dao-level powerhouse finds it nearly impossible to witness the destruction of the Chaotic Void.

Only the Dao-level powerhouse standing at the apex of the Chaotic Void has even a faint chance of encountering its destruction.

These are all digressions; in short, achieving Hunyuan is a leap in life's layer for any living being.

Luo Fu is no exception.

Although Luo Fu had already broken through to become a Mythic Heavenly Immortal before attaining Hunyuan, when he achieved Hunyuan, he still underwent a life leap like any ordinary being.

Achieving Hunyuan and becoming a Mythic Heavenly Immortal are, in fact, two different paths.

In a certain sense, both represent a kind of transformation of life.

Achieving Hunyuan is when a being transcends from an ordinary lifeform to become a Dao-lifeform, thereby gaining the trait of indestructibility and immortality.

Becoming a Mythic Heavenly Immortal is a transformation by which an ordinary being transcends the River of Time.

If achieving Mythic Da Luo Dao allows a being to successfully transcend the River of Time,

then achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal allows a being to begin interfering with the River of Time.

Transcending the River of Time is not significant.

Most beings transcend only a branch of the River of Time.

And the branches of the River of Time are generally enveloped by larger branches.

This means that although a being transcends a branch of the River of Time, it has not truly escaped the River of Time—it merely escapes a weaker branch and falls into a larger one.

Of course, even falling into a larger branch of the River of Time,

a being that has transcended a branch still differs from ordinary beings.

But this difference does not alter the fundamental truth that the being has not transcended the River of Time.

Mythic Heavenly Immortal is the second step of transcending the River of Time.

The transcendence of Mythic Da Luo Dao is only temporary.

Even if a being continuously breaks through Mythic Da Luo Dao to transcend the River of Time again and again, it remains just as before—only falling into a higher branch of the River of Time.

Unless a being ascends to the pinnacle, it is nearly impossible to completely transcend the River of Time.

This means that continuously transcending branches of the River of Time through breaking through Mythic Da Luo Dao fundamentally changes nothing.

Nor is it a further breakthrough in life's layer.

Even if one transcends countless branches of the River of Time, one remains fundamentally in the same state—only the aura of transcendence becomes slightly more intense.

Mythic Heavenly Immortal is different.

Compared to Mythic Da Luo Dao, achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal is a further transformation of life.

Breaking through Mythic Da Luo Dao allows a being to begin transcending a branch of the River of Time, becoming an entity that stands above a certain branch.

But merely standing above it does not grant the ability to interfere with the River of Time.

After achieving Mythic Da Luo Dao, the being and the branch of the River of Time become two parallel entities.

Their relationship is like that between a river and a person standing beside it.

Achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal is different.

The path of achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal is to establish an anchor within the River of Time.

Then, through this anchor, stabilize the changes of the River of Time.

This stabilization means occupying a specific time segment within the branch of the River of Time.

Moreover, from Luo Fu's previous manipulation, it is evident that the anchor of the River of Time can continuously expand, occupying a longer stretch of the River of Time.

Thus, the being transforms from a person beside the river, a parallel entity, into the owner of the River of Time.

Even if a being can only occupy a portion of the River of Time, its status becomes utterly different.

A person standing on the shore, facing the River of Time, still risks drowning.

Even if not drowned within the transcended branch, one might still drown in a higher-level branch of the River of Time.

Becoming the owner of the River of Time is different.

Since one has already occupied the River of Time, one cannot be drowned by the River of Time itself.

In a certain sense, achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal grants the trait of indestructibility and immortality within the River of Time.

However, just as achieving Hunyuan grants only one Dao's indestructibility and immortality, achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal grants only a trace of indestructibility and immortality within the River of Time.

From this perspective, the Hunyuan layer and Mythic Heavenly Immortal can indeed be considered the same realm.

But achieving Hunyuan involves invoking the Dao, imprinting a fragment of one's true spirit onto the Dao, and drawing upon the Dao's power to refine the Primordial Spirit and physical body.

Whereas achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal involves using the anchor of the River of Time to stabilize a certain segment of the River of Time and claim it as one's own.

In essence, achieving Hunyuan and achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal are not greatly different.

But from the perspective of power, they are utterly distinct.

The Dao that must be imprinted for achieving Hunyuan is merely the Dao of the Chaotic Void.

From the scale of the Heavens and Myriad Worlds, the Chaotic Void is undoubtedly insignificant.

The Heavens and Myriad Worlds contain countless worlds similar to the Chaotic Void.

If the Chaotic Void is insignificant, then the Dao it contains is even more insignificant.

The trace of power gained by imprinting upon the Dao is likewise insignificant.

Achieving Mythic Heavenly Immortal is different.

The River of Time is one of the Pinnacle Rivers.

Even when looking across all the heavens and myriad worlds, he is the most terrifying existence.

Occupying even a negligible portion of the Changhe surpasses in essence the faint power gained from imprinting the Dao of Mark.

This point can be seen in the divine abilities Luo Fu gained after attaining Mythic Immortalhood.

Not to mention anything else—merely the Legendary Avatar alone grants Luo Fu true invincibility.

Unless someone can destroy the stretch of the Changhe that Luo Fu occupies, no one can truly obliterate the Legendary Avatar.

The Legendary Avatar appearing in reality is merely a projection of the Changhe.

Even if the projection is destroyed, it can still recover, so long as the source remains.

This is true immortality and indestructibility.

Even sages protected by the Heavenly Dao are far inferior to Luo Fu in immortality and indestructibility.

If a sage perishes, it takes a considerable amount of time before they can truly revive.
