Chapter 869
The barrenness of the West is evident.
Buddhism's current status stems entirely from Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin's shamelessness and ruthlessness.
To develop the barren West to its present state, Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin indeed poured out immense effort and expended countless resources.
In this regard, compared to the other four Sages, Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin truly possess extraordinary methods.
Yet all of Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin's methods are directed toward exploiting others.
Buddhism's great flourishing rests upon billions upon billions of believers, all treated as firewood by Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin, endlessly burned.
Behind Buddhism's outwardly majestic appearance lies a mountain of white bones.
This is why many great cultivators of the Three Realms detest Buddhism.
From top to bottom, Buddhism—whether Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin, or the Buddhas and Bodhisattvas—is hypocritical and cruel.
Precisely because their resources were insufficient, Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin placed extraordinary value on the assets they brought into the Chaotic Void.
It can be said that the assets Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin brought into the Chaotic Void already constituted ninety percent of Buddhism's foundation; if one adds the two Sages themselves, they account for ninety-nine percent.
In other words, if Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin are defeated by Luo Fu, Buddhism will essentially be destroyed before they revive; even if they do revive, Buddhism will be thrown back to the dawn of its existence.
Had the consequences not been so dire, Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin would never have chosen suicide so readily.
As Sages, they still cared a little for their dignity.
Being driven to suicide is tantamount to trampling Saint Zhunti and Saint Jieyin's dignity underfoot.
